3/5 SDS Public Relations B. 1 year ago on Google
We
had
very
high
expectations
of
this
lodge.
Sadly,
many
elements
have
disappointed
us
thus
far
(1
day
into
a
3
night
stay)
1st,
our
greeting
upon
arrival
was
very
awkward.
We
were
standing
in
front
of
our
safari
vehicle
after
a
long
ride,
and
instead
of
a
typical
warm
Tanzanian
welcome,
we
were
handed
a
drink
in
the
car
park
and
one
of
the
"managers"
read
us
a
list
of
hotel
policies,
reviewed
time
tables
for
various
activities,
and
prices
for
certain
activities,
with
a
special
emphasis
on
which
drinks
were
NOT
covered
by
our
all
inclusive
price.
We
were
then
told
to
present
our
passports
to
another
"Manager",
who
did
not
even
have
the
courtesy
to
look
up
from
his
computer
screen
to
say
hello.
Our
son's
room
smelled
strongly
of
smoke
(
from
fireplace,
not
cigarettes)
and
this
issue
is
still
unresolved.
Wifi
does
not
work
in
our
room,
and
when
I
mentioned
this
at
reception,
I
was
told
to
walk
up
the
hill
to
another
manager.
Finally,
we
were
told
wifi
wasn't
working
in
our
room
and
we
should
use
our
devices
in
the
lodge.
Although
Gibbs
Farm
seems
famous
for
its
food,
we
are
finding
it
mediocre.
As
we
were
leaving
very
early
for
a
Ngorongoro
safari,
I
asked
the
night
before
if
we
could
order
a
packed
breakfast.
We
were
told
"no",
just
come
to
the
restaurant
at
6
am
and
tell
the
staff
what
to
pack
for
you.
Well,
the
only
items
available
were
super
sweet,
unhealthy
pastries.
Nothing
whole
grain,
no
whole
fruits,
no
proteins.
We
finally
convinced
a
cook
to
make
us
some
hard
boiled
eggs
and
part
with
a
few
bananas
to
take
on
the
road.
The
packed
lunch
for
the
safari
was
awful
-
the
vegan
lunch
was
large
slabs
of
white
bread
smothered
in
butter
with
several
measly
slices
of
tomato
and
cucumber,
and
a
small
container
of
oily
rice
salad
with
possibly
8
tiny
cubes
of
butternut
squash
and
zuccini.
We
still
have
2
nights
here
and
we
are
hoping
things
improve
dramatically!
