Spent three wonderful and unforgettable nights here with my wife from 1 to 4 February 2017 for honeymoon after safari trip on the Tanzania mainland. It had six villas only. That is, it served at most 12 guests at any time. Given the small number of guests, there's no question that the guests would enjoy privacy and attentive services. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were included. Most of the drinks were offered free of charge. The food was great! On arrival, we told the manager that we loved seafood. They did include crabs and lobsters in the lunch and dinner menus on certain days, which were heavenly. During the dinners in the first and third evenings, there were singing performances with traditional Zanzibar music and modern music respectively. After the dinner in the second evening, a scholar shared the history of Zanzibar with the guests. Guests could use the swimming faculties at Braza and Breezes, which belonged to the same group as the Palms. On one day, we joined a "reef walk" activity offered by Breezes (i.e. a guide led us to wall on the sea bed when the tide was at the lowest). It's a wonderful experience and we saw a variety of creatures. However, it's not as easy as we originally thought. We had to take great care in order to avoid being hurt by the hard coral and urchins. In view of my description above, I trust that one would agree that the hotel deserve the high prices.

Where do I start? This was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, hands down. Mt husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon for 4 nights. The service is beyond, every meal was spectacular, we had a great massage, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are huge. We will have memories to last a lifetime.

This is the best resort or hotel I have ever stayed at in my ENTIRE LIFE. We went for our honeymoon and could not have been happier. First, location - this is RIGHT on the beach, like steps away. You have your own private cabana every day. The location is approx 1-1.5 hours from the airport, which is great because the main town is too hectic. This area is so relaxing and perfect for a peaceful getaway. Next, amenities - absolutely blown away. Our villa had THREE rooms! We had our own private plunge pool, two bathrooms, and a giant king sized bed as well as a day bed inside and a day bed outside!! The pool was immaculate and always being cleaned. Everything was constantly being cleaned and even when it started raining for 10 seconds, the staff would immediately come move the pool cushions to keep them dry. The cabana was unbelievably comfortable, facing the beach, literally a bed on the beach for you. Also, there's a gym and amazing spa right next door that we used as well! Now the food - BEST FOOD EVER!!!! Every meal was the best meal I've had - the breakfast was to die for, so many options, and everything was included. They always kept asking if we wanted some champagne or drinks with our meals too which was so so fun. Also, each dinner was so thoughtful and beautiful. They even had a theme for each dinner so they would set out beautiful candles, decor, and even live music for each dinner. Also, there was "tea time" every day with incredible coffee and cookies brought to anywhere you were. And can't forget cocktail hour when they would bring you a delicious snack and cocktail of the day to anywhere you were hanging out. Now onto the staff - so unbelievably kind, thoughtful, perfectly there when you needed them and gave you privacy when you needed privacy. The hospitality was unbelievable. We were DEVASTATED to leave. This is the BEST value place you could ever find. I'm shocked we weren't paying thousands of dollars per night, the value cannot be beat. I cannot recommend The Palms more!!! Truly the best place I've ever stayed in my entire life.

Go go go! You will fall in love and want to go back over and over again. Service, rooms, resort and food and drinks were all 5 out of 5! Would recommend to anyone. They also have nearby resorts which are equally fabulous - Baraza, Breezes and Zawadi. You get to move around and visit all 4 resorts when you stay at the Palms which is great for exploring more around the area! Again - go go go!

The Palms is the perfect couples destination in Zanzibar. Fantastic accommodations, food and service. Siriac, the manager greeted us with a warm and friendly welcome and everyone on his team followed his lead. The private plunge pool is the perfect ace to stargaze. The beach was the perfect spot for all the activities they offer as well as a place to walk the low tide pools filled with starfish and other sea creatures. Dinner was a special and each evening offered a special experience for us. This might be the perfect spot to renew our wedding vows.

Absolutely perfect place to spend your holidays. Just mention if coming with kids: playing with sand on the beach is not possible during high tide. Restaurant offers good balance between haute cuisine, local flavours and any dietary preferences. Private beach with lovely cabanas dedicated to each villa and with towels waiting you inside in the morning.

Upon reading the formidable reviews we have decided to end our honeymoon with a 4-day stay at The Palms. Now, half a year later, we are still convinced there could not have been any better place to stay and we still regularly share our memories of our short stay in paradise. From the very first encounter with the front desk staff to the last smile of the waiters we felt instantly at ease and at home. The bungalows are nicely decorated and bigger than our own apartment in Frankfurt. You even have a separate "day room" for the occasional bad weather moment, which we luckily didn't experience. Instead we spent our days moving from the breakfast table to our private beach cabana, to the set tables at the poolside bar for lunch, followed by an afternoon at the pool and a sun downer at the beach cabana before we got ready for the fabulous dinner and sleep-well-cocktail at the restaurant. Add in some pre-breakfast stand up paddling, an afternoon riff walk or snorkeling tour for some daily variance and you have the perfect programme to relax, unwind and enjoy life. But it is the staff that makes The Palms stand out. They really go beyond any expectations to make the best out of your time. If you have any wish, question or suggestion, they will do whatever it takes to please you. Being there for their guests without being uncomfortably present, they ensure the perfect balance of service, luxury and peacefulness. Always quick with a joke, remembering our favourite drinks and food, the team deserves a fabulous shout-out. Just one example: after ordering out-of-stock mozzarella two days in a row, it was brought to the table without asking on the third morning. "The chef insisted" ;) Which brings us to the food, the other extraordinary experience that comes with staying at The Palms. We do have a high standard when it comes to food, but the kitchen team at did absolutely live up to that. Coming up with so many unique suggestions inspired by the local and modern kitchen, all cooked to perfection and nicely decorated could not have been better in any highly praised restaurant. The only thing not like a Michelin-star restaurant were the portions. Breakfast, 3-course lunch, a delicious sun downer and a 5-7-course dinner with full plates on every course did give us a food coma after a couple of days. It's a good thing not having to be too active during the day and to have the option for half or sharing portions if you, like us, still want to try everything despite being full already :) In short, if you are looking for the definition of paradise on earth: look no further, you've found it at The Palms! We really wish we could back one day and hope to meet the team again, they are fabulous and doing an amazing job. Take care!

Value for money not there. Otherwise a nice hotel with friendly (not always competent but trying hard which should be appreciated) staff.

What can we say except amazing, overwhelming, stunning - simply a paradise . This really small hotel embedded in Palm trees offers everything for a romantic couple stay you want to have. We had even gotten a villa with a small private pool and a view out to the ocean. The service is amazing, they literally keep no wish open. Food and drinks are exceptional and the sundowner snacks and cocktails really where the cherry on top. Friendly people wherever you go, and also the massages and the spa in the sister hotel next to the palms have been an amazing experience. One of the best massages I had ever. We will keep this hotel always as our little paradise in our hearts. Asante Sana

The setup at The Palms works very well. It gives you the feel of an exclusive low-population resort, offering lots of privacy and attentive service, but with the benefits of being able to use the facilities of the sister hotels either side; Breezes and Baraza. We were fortunate enough to stay in “Hibiscus” the honeymoon suite, which was nice and private, but didn’t have the charm of the other rooms at The Palms, that are built as traditional huts with palm roofs. The beach stretch is beautiful, alive with coral and small sea creatures when the tide goes out. A very relaxing final 5-nights to our honeymoon.
