It was a lovely park. It is small relative to other parks in Tanzania but definitely worth a visit. We saw one elephant, many baboons, many blue monkeys, several colonus monkeys, cape Buffalo, zebras, giraffes, water buck, reedbuck, many warthogs, hornbills, flamingos and bee eaters.

The park is amazing! Everyone needs to go on a walking safari! We got so close to the buffalo, warthogs, and giraffe. Very close to Arusha more people need to go here.

Nature wise is it is a very beautiful place. If your goal is to see many types of animals you won't see many, at least I didn't see many (beginning of October). The reason being, is that it is a very green place ,so the animals hide very well in all the greenery. There is secrion that is more open but it is next to green forest so the animals hide where it is green. There's some parts that go up hill and you are in this beautiful forest so no question about it that is beautiful also you will see some very nice views from up there. There's ab old crater that you can also see from up high, that it has become partly like a swamp thing there must be some animals that come there I didn't see any. There's also a nice flamboyance of flamingos. The entrance to the park is only $60 for foreigners. The problem is that in the area there is a unnecessary and very abusive pricing for transportation . For example there were quoting me $350+ to take from the Kilimanjaro airport area and some companies even more, that is way overpriced for what you are getting. I negotiated with a taxi and I was able to do it for less than a third of that price and that's still too expensive if you consider the cost of gasoline. You can do a rental car but is not a good contract. The contract seems well priced but after a few kilometers you get changed extra for every kilometer, the second problem is that those rental car companies at the airport have very limited hours but most of the flights this international ones arrive after they are closed or leave after they are closed. At the park there's also walking Safari options inside the park for about $50. I've done some other safaris in Tanzania and Kenya if you want to see animals the national Park in the capital of Kenya in Nairobi has much more animals and they don't have very many places to hide when I was there I saw from many lions , elephants, giraffes many more animals. At this national Park in Arusha I only saw water buffalo, gazelle's, zebras, giraffes, many baboons, a couple of monkeys, few birds and the flamingos.... I didn't have time to do the bigger ones that are around I assume they're going to be much better but I know they are much more expensive so you'll have to add the transportation and the more expensive entrance fee...

Great national park near Arusha that gives you a taste of the wildlife you will see in the bigger national parks in Tanzania.

The perfect way to start a safari with a chance to walk the montane forests, through open glades with wildlife, rivers and waterfalls. The lower part of the park had some lakes with good wildlife and birds. Keep an eye out for the small red duiker, suni and famous Colobus monkey.

11 th October I went and I'm so excited to see this beautiful animals .. specially water falls . Amazing experience. It's high security place . The local guide did a good job. And we can see a good hospitality and a clean rest room in so many places.
