We were in the hospital yesterday with our son to get an injection. They were very patient with him and tried to make him as comfortable as possible. I am very pleased with the service we got. The best doctors visit we had in Zanzibar. I strongly recommend this hospital if you are in a need of medical assistance. They are always available and answered any questions we had. Thank you.

I had a medical emergency around 3 am in the morning and at no hesitation they got me in immediately. By far the best service I have ever received at any medical facility Center on the island. I felt comfortable my entire stay which was around 4 nights. The team is by far such a friendly and caring team. They made me feel so comfortable during my difficult times and overall I was very impressed by how organized, clean and well this facility was kept. It’s very difficult to find good health care system on the island and my experiences haven’t been the best so to find this gem has been so good. Thank you to the entire team for taking such good care of me during my stay and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for high quality medical support on the island with some of the best doctors and nurses and team overall

The nicest hospital from all the world we’ve visited. They cover free transportation from and to the hotel. The staff is international and very nice and ready to help. They work with insurance and fight for you in front of the insurance companies. Diana ( who handles insurance) makes sure to stay positive and helpful throughout. The doctors answered all my extensive questions and made us feel safe throughout our 2 unfortunate visits. The best service a hospital could give. 5 stars!

I have been to this hospital and once I arrived there I forgot that I was at the hospital, I started to think I'm in 1 of the hotels in Zanzibar.. From the reception department, nurses and doctors, housekeeping were amazing they make you feel less sick. They have the best service and they do take care of not only the patient but the ones accompanied the patient as well.. It's a 5 Start Hospital..Good work NVH Team, keep it the spirit of team work and the love you have for your patients. We appreciate you all.

The word 'North' in North Valley Hospital is serendipitous because the staff (especially Dr. Michael) was my North Star and a guiding light amidst the most significant medical emergency of my life. Alone and with a fever approaching 40C, and a kidney almost twice its standard size, I was calling home (12,332.4 KM away) for what I thought would be the last time. My case was complicated; I had journeyed deep into the Amazon jungle, then jetted to Zanzibar, and was in a dire situation. Was it a parasite? A virus, maybe? A bacterial infection? Time was not on my side. Breathing was becoming impossible. The pain was searing and so unrelenting I had to bite down on my pillow to keep from screaming. Writing this review, I'm tearing up. I've never felt such an abundance of gratitude toward these fantastic Doctors and nurses. Stoic, unflappable, and calm are perfect adjectives to describe Dr. Safa and Dr. Michael. The hospital was spotless and comfortable, the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Everyone seemed to love and excel at their jobs. But it was a team effort, and I'm remiss, not to mention the professionalism and compassion I also received from Dr. Omar, Dr. Ali, Nurse Omary, and the always-smiling receptionist Mylene. After spending four days in the hospital, you'd think I'd have enough of the place; but I've gone back multiple times to say hello. Thank you from the depths of my heart. Asante Sana!

Great hospital with very attentive doctors. Professional equipement at the highest standards. Also the personal is very kind. Got there because of a severe food poisoning at were treated in only a day and could recover very fast. Blessed with the very humane treatment. Recommend it at 100%.

Very pleasant private hospital with a good medical management. Very helpful staff. Certainly not inexpensive. Salmonella treatment with overnight stay and all medications took 1.5 days. I was taken care of competently. The medications are perhaps a bit overengineered. All in all: very good.

I spent the day here today initially only trying to procure a legitimate Covid test for my travel insurance claim. I was definitely positive and had been feeling pretty poorly for about 5 days. Dr Michael and his staff immediately surrounded me with loving care and concern and after some treatments I didn’t know I would benefit from, a good breakfast and lunch, I left feeling so cared for and improved health wise. The first thing my nurse Sava said to me was , “ I will treat you like I’d treat my mother.” And indeed she did. Professional yes. Compassionate oh yes! Thorough? Completely. Honestly the best hospital on the Island. I live in Zanzibar for 2 years and have experience with other places... I arrived there, it was emergency. Staff is helpful start from receptionist Diane (she helped me sort out insuarance issues) and all doctors especially Dr Aya and Dr Michael. After treatment I had many follow up appointments included. Daily contact with hospital to make sure wound is healing properly. I recommend this place. They know what they're doing, made me feel like in Europe! Thank you North Valley Hospital Team

The rooms are clean, functional and in time of need you are transferred to your private room. Dr Ibrahim was a brilliant English-speaking doctor - he rapidly identified what was wrong with my son, did appropriate tests and gave him treatment which quickly brought him back to his normal self. He was calm, cool and efficient. Very happy all round and I’m very glad I brought my son here.

I had an emergency at night time from what I suspected was food poisoning and had to rush to the nearest hospital, which was this one. I was taken well care of by the nurse and Dr. Azeez. They put me in a room in which I spent the night after taking necessary tests. The next morning Dr. Safa took over and gave me tablets and medicine so I could fly back home feeling much better. Overall I had a great experience in which the staff made me feel at ease.

I was coming to Zanzibar for many years and for now, I have been living here. I have never needed a doctor … until today. I have read about this hospital on the internet and heard about its exellent services from my guests and friends from Zanzibar. Approved!! Since I entered the hospital, till the end, they were taking great and absolutely proffesional care of me. They also contacted my insurence company and everything went very smoothly. i had a medical emergency with symptoms of nausea and tiredness and i was at north valley hospital. we arrived and they immediately accommodated us in a comfortable room and quickly evaluated me and prescribed the treatment. I am very grateful to North Valley Hospital, Dr. Ali, Dr. Michael and all the staff for their help. They were very professional and caring. Already 10 minutes after my arrival, I had blood tests done, X-ray was made in half an hour, treatment began immediately. I arrived at the hospital in the morning with a fever and a temperature of 39, and in the evening I left in a good condition, with prescribed medicines and a treatment regimen for a week. The equipment of the hospital, the attitude of the staff and even the food deserve the highest marks. Thanks again!

Hi team I am submitting a full review due to the prolonged duration (4 hours) to get the claim approved Had to wait ~4 hours instead of the usual ~30 minutes which I experienced during my 8 years of using the same insurance provider. I would not provided this service if I was a premium service provider (500 USD for removing sea urchin thorns) Suggestions 1) do hold on credit cards as a means to guarantee payment instead of asking the patient to wait 2) prepare standard templates and submit upon patient admission instead of starting the process after the patient finishes his treatment Dr Ali was professional and did the treatment in a rapid manner

I went to North Valley Hospital with an ear infection. The hotel reception got a taxi for me and got me there. Immediately after arriving at the small hospital I was examined and treated by a doctor and nurse. Helpful and friendly staff! They all spoke English. I payed 320 USD for antibiotics IV and medicines, which hopefully be covered by my insurance

North Valley Hospital are very welcoming good hospitality my daughter came in emergency has she was struggling to breathe they give her all the medical attention she was under control. I went there to get some stitches (inside the hour I was back on my way home) Jon (the doctor) and Ramadan (male nurse) are one of the most friendly people i met in whole Zanzibar.. Jon and Ramadan had to convince me to do the stitches and I'm glad they did! Jon even only let me pay for the material because he knew I was there on a budget and because he wanted to make sure I left the hospital safe and sound! A big thanks to these to 2 guys!

My sister got sick with medium fever for 2 nights & Dr Omar came within few minutes after the call to our hotel, We were very worried about her health but Dr Omar was extremely professional, helpful & very humble ! Can’t thank him enough !

Went for an emergency my Little sister had during our trip and got treated by Dr. Ibrahim. The place is professional, clean, the Doctor and nurses are very nice and comforting. The problem was solved in a few hours and the hospital is accepted by insurance Companies - and helps you finalize the proceedings related to it.

Thank you to the doctor, the doctor and the entire staff for their professionalism and excellent attitude. Upon arrival, they attended to us immediately and were very friendly. My wife was examined within minutes and was given her IV immediately. Thank you and we wish them many happy, healed patients.

Had a minor accident and a fever, they admitted me immediately, examined me, did blood work, made sure it isn't anything serious. No problems with insurance, everything went smoothly! Wonderful doctors and nurses.

The attention I received from the hospital's team were very professional by the Doctor's treatments, Dr Michael and Dr George helped me to be recovered as fast as it was possible from my accident. I went to this clinic with a bad gastroenteritis and was experiencing extreme pain. Doctor John and the male nurses at the clinic treated promptly and made me feel very safe. I was on the drip during the day and came home during the night but Doctor John made sure I had his direct number so we could stay in touch if any concerns arise. I was also assisted with my health insurance claim as I never used it before. The assistance I received was amazing from beginning to end and I would definitely recommend this clinic.

We were recommended the hospital when my son didn't get better from gastroenterit with fever for five days. Thorough analysis were made and treatment for typhoid fever followed with drip and adequate medicins. It was very clean with sterilized items always being used and the doctors and nurses were proffessional and caring. They also picked us up and helped with transport when I needed to go back to the hotel for a while to attend my daughter who was left there. We felt safe and wery well treated. The payment goes directly trough insurance and I can therefore not say anything about the price levels. The only issue was afterwards when the copy of the medical report never was sent to me as promised and no one even answewed my repeated question for one (My insurance company told me several times to request a copy myself, even if sent to them directly from hospital too). Questions about medication after being discharged from hospital also took pretty long time to be answered (One day and a half) even though we were told we could come up with any question afterwords and keep in contact easily through Whats App. Still, we are greatful to the hospital for great help in a worrying situation!

The care and treatment is first class. Took my 1 year old boy suffering with chest infection; they did a thorough assessment, took blood samples and gave saline treatment. I had full confidence with the level of capability, professionalism and his treatment throughout.
