An amazing public beach with an even more amazing sunset! Many beach activities are available for the tourists who visit. It can get a bit crowded at times too. Suggest more security guards to be present as it got a bit frustrating for the women tourists who visit. Some of the local teens were being a bit too intrusive and evading personal spaces clicking pictures without permission. Acts like these tarnish the reputation of a tourist spot and the country as a whole. Overall a good spot to spend an afternoon.

In the north (ZaVa Nungwi restaurant and up north), there is a lot of activity with locals going about their daily business. Cows are on the beach, and there are many fishing boats in the water. Unfortunately, there is also a lot of garbage lying around, and the smell can be quite strong. Further down in the south (around The Z Hotel), there are many restaurants, bars, and small shops to enjoy, but also many tourists, several beach boys, and Masaais, which can be overwhelming at times. I highly recommend snorkeling in the area between The Sands Baobab and The Z Hotel. There are many colorful fish to observe. If you're lucky you can see moray eels, sea snakes or lionfish. Bring bathing shoes to protect your feet from the sea urchins and rocks. One highlight is the sunset on this side!

Nungwi Beach was enjoyable with fewer tourist and amazing views of the Indian Ocean. A diversity of restaurants and shops are along the beach. Would strongly suggest to wear water shoes. For a solo female traveler, I would suggest to be cautious. The locals are beautiful and peaceful ppl. Enjoy

Zanzabar has the most beautiful beaches and waters I've ever seen. And this is just one of them. I came to do Dolphins watching and a little bit of swimming and Fed the fishes.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful beach where the ebbs and flows are least felt. Insanely beautiful color of water. White sand. But very annoying merchants who walk along the coast all the time. (Original) Красивый пляж, где меньше всего чувствуются приливы и отливы. Безумно красивый цвет воды. Белый песок. Но очень надоедливые торговцы, которые все время ходят вдоль берега.

September 2004. Probably the best place to relax after the Kilimanjaro Climb. I did it the other way round. Scuba diving, food, beach all perfect.

(Translated by Google) Probably the best beaches in Zanzibar. There is a much smaller low tide here, so you don't have to go a mile to the ocean. (Original) Asi nejlepší pláže na Zanzibaru. Je tady o hodně menší odliv, takže nemusíte jít kilometr do oceánu.

The beach is very beautiful with tourqouise water 🌊 and beautiful bottom under the water. Many curious fishes approach you, some are long and are mimicking ropes under the water. I also saw 3 sea snakes, white in black stripes. You should be careful because they are venomous. I also saw two lion fishes and a jellyfish. Also there are a lot of sea urchins so bring special shoes. Highly recommend to bring snorkeling mask. Unfortunately very often you are approached by people selling various things when you try to relax on the beach. I understand why that is happening and that those people have to do that to survive but it is nontheles very tiring. I would have to eat 200 coconuts a day to satisfy every salesman. You won't have 5 minutes of peace in the busiest spots. Also I would advise for women to be cautious because when I left my girl and went for a swim she was approached by several people who were proposing to be her ,, friend " and they were very insisting on it until I came back from the ocean. Anyway the beach is beautiful and I recommend to either stay in a place with security or go to a bit less crowded area and I highly recommend to have your wits about you.

(Translated by Google) Although far from the center (I mean Ole Town and the surrounding area), there are plenty of tourists here and I know why. 😁 Wonderful, clean, white ... beaches❗❗❗😱😍😁 ♥ Endless beach. Divine views. The water is incredibly clear, almost crystalline. Super hotel and restaurant facilities. 👍🏻 I recommend a trip to this place or even a few nights. Widoki boskie. Woda niesamowicie czysta, wręcz krystaliczna. Super zaplecze hotelowo-restauracyjne. 👍🏻 POLECAM wyprawę w to miejsce lub nawet kilka noclegów. ♥

It is by far the best beach I have ever been. The colour of the water, calm and relaxing environment. Perfect for morning meditations. There are also nice restaurants around and of course tours to do snorkeling, enjoying also the local food offered. Perfect spots to take memorable pictures too. 100% recommended.

My wife and I took a walk down from Kendwa to Nungwi beach yesterday, finishing our walk with a visit to the Mnarani Aquarium. The beach itself was beautiful, but I must say that a major down side to the day was the sheer amount of vendors that approached us and persistently attempted to sell things to us. It's one thing to greet a tourist, but what we experienced yesterday was a constant stream of uninvited and very clingy salesmen of dhow tours, bracelets and carvings. I understand that it's low season at the moment and perhaps these guys really are desperate for business, but it wasn't pleasant and we don't intend to return to the area. We prefer a quiet corner of the island where we can be left in peace to enjoy the place.

During the day it’s beautiful - but something seems odd. Then you see how this place is at night: Italians (they run the place) and locals fully on drugs, alcohol, fighting against each other and all have one aim: extort tourists from their lash money. Take care - full of scams and pushy people, thefts happen regularly (to me as well)

What a fascinating lovely little place for a beach vacation. The beach is lined with resorts and restaurants and absolutely becomes energetic once the night skies set in, I regretted not being able to be there for one of the full moon parties when nungwi becomes really lively. But the beaches are beautiful. There are sections of the beach which you may not be able to traverse through if there is a high tide. But the turquoise waters and the beautiful sunset and very affordable property prices make it a very attractive beach destination. From the safety perspective, I was told to avoid loitering alone after sunset. So I did just that and was totally fine.

(Translated by Google) The water is of a beautiful turquoise color, the sand is fine white, and therefore the water near the coast is buty white and not at all transparent. The ebb is very strong, during low tide there are a lot of hedgehogs, well, sea inlets are found, there are many beautiful shells. But the big minus is the annoying Masai and local)) (Original)

Zanzibar has the most clearest beaches and this is one of them. Hawkers can become a bit of a nuisance trying to sell you something every 2 minutes on the beach, but overall lovely beach

You can get both sunrise and sunsets on this beach. The east side has a nice breeze and feels a lot more quieter than the west side which feels more commercialized. Lots of nice eating spots. Fun to walk around.

Really nice beach, but be prepared to say “no, thank you” every 5 mins as there is always someone approaching you and trying to sell you stuff. Ruins the mood if you just want to relax.

Amazing ocean and nature. We visited Zanzibar on the beginning of March before raining season, so a few days were raining hard. The holidays here were unforgettable, “white” nights, white soft sand, nice crabs🦀 . Be careful of sea urchins and take coral shoes when swimming. High and low tides here don’t interfere swimming. Because change twice a day. You can see how women hunting octopus when low tides. The local people try to sell you almost everything and a million times during your vacation. They start from excursions and finish taxi to airport. These really spoil the impression of this beautiful picturesque spot on the Earth.

Nungwi Beach on Zanzibar is a delightful, relaxing and endlessly picturesque place. The colors of the sand and sea are picture perfect, supported by the lazily sailing Dhows and other ships. The beach hotels make for palm lined scenery. The beach is always lively with the seemingly self-guided herds of cows that pass over it, the fisherwomen who go into the sea to catch fish with a big net they are holding with over 10 people, with the schoolchildren dressed in uniform returning home. The beach boys are unavoidable but easily shaken of.
