It's one thing to greet a tourist, but what we experienced yesterday was a constant stream of uninvited and very clingy salesmen of dhow tours, bracelets and carvings. I understand that it's low season at the moment and perhaps these guys really are desperate for business, but it wasn't pleasant and we don't intend to return to the area. We prefer a quiet corner of the island where we can be left in peace to enjoy the place.
