After reading all these reviews, I had to give it a try. And what should I say. While typing this, I am missing the food again. It is run by a local family. Close to the beach. I have tried several dishes on the menu; Seafood platter for 2 (be sure you are hungry because its a lot of very tasty food), peanut crusted fish, Fadhils prawns tempura, 1/2kg lobster and a couple other dishes. All the dishes were as always good. Sometimes it takes a bit of time, but is more then worth it to wait!! I tried several restaurants around here in Jambiani and in Paje and Stone Stown, but this is my favorite and best seafood restaurant!

Don't let the interior scare you, this place is a gem, we tried a lot of food from the menu, they are all fresh and incredibly tasty and delicious. The wait time is a bit longer compared to the western standard, but this is usual in thr area. Price is very affordable, and the portions are big enough.

One of my best discovery in Zanzibar 💕 This restaurant was just next to our hotel and we went there several times. The vibe during day is so cute and authentic with nice naive paintings on the wall, sand as a ground. A local family is running the restaurant and they are such nice people. My favorites dishes were the cigale and the prawns with lemon and garlic. Go there it will not disappoint you.

Enjoyed a really delicious meal. One of the cheapest places I've found in all of Zanzibar. Includes dessert. Strongly recommend. Consider ordering ahead of time

Arrived in the middle of nowhere near a very poor village in the heart of Jambiani, only to be greeted by nothing more than a real African mother, best seafood I’ve ever had in my entire life definitely would recommend the crab.

Very tasty local food, this was our favourite place in Zanzibar. I am not a seafood lover, but here I ate two times the cigal (rock/slipper lobster). Also the staff was very friendly. ❤

We loved our dinner at Fadhil’s. It is delicious, fresh local food served with a smile. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge! I had the peanut crusted fish which was so good and unlike anything I’ve tried before. We didn’t have to wait long for our food but we did go earlier and were the only people there when we ordered. The restaurant feels like it’s in someone’s front room which for us just added to the charm of it. Also just a heads up that it’s cash only and they don’t serve alcohol.

(Translated by Google) I was in September, before reaching Jambiani I had seen online and book for the first day of my arrival. I came for the hotel, very friendly. Very good food, you have to wait because you do it all at the time, very good quality, you feel at ease and very cheap. 100% recommended. Jambiani again when we meet again. Fadhil’s little restaurant proved a revelation after eating expensive rubbish food in several l beach restaurants . After trying Fadhil's cooking , we ate there every night and always looked forward to it. Fadhil is a trained chef who clearly loves cooking, is very proud of and knowledgeable about Zanzibar cuisine and produces delicious , fresh and beautifully presented food. We tried all the dishes from the menu (seafood and chicken) and other that Fadhil cooked to order. We had coconut octopus curry, grilled and fried fish, grilled chicken and rock lobsters- all delicious, and wonderfully spiced with ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and other Zanzibar spices . The mains are served with rice (pilaf or plain) or potatoes either sautéed with onion or chips and stir fried or curried vegetables. Fadhil's simple tomato and avocado salad is to die for. For the price of the main course you also get a dessert and Fadhil produced a different one every night we ate there. We had hot, fried bananas in coconut or chocolate sauce, lovely crepes, cakes and wonderful local desert of little balls of delicate puff pastry in brown sugar syrup infused with huge amount of cinnamon and cardamom and served with spiced coffee. As everything is cooked to order it takes about one hour for the dishes to arrive ( normal in Zanzibar) so it is best to order it in advance or even let him know in the morning what you would like to eat (i.e. if you want a particular seafood as he will buy from the fishermen). People we spoke to also loved Fadhil's food and considered his food the best in Jambiani.

This place is a must visit when at zanzibar. It is a family operation with tables directly at the beach. The food is the best we had while our stay at Zanzibar. We ordered the Calamari and the mixed Seafood Curry. Absolutely lovely. Seafood is highly recommended. Check this place out !!! PS: Bring some waiting time or be early they are quite busy but it is absolutely worth the wait.

Everything is fresh and cooked with love. Deliciously delicious fresh! Just the best in Zanzibar! And the situation is nothing to worry about, the African atmosphere, so to speak, even cool. Dessert no longer intermeddle, but we shoved it! :)

Normally you would walk past Fadhil Restaurant as it does not look super inviting. However, you must come here! We recommend to reserve a table in the afternoon for dinner and to already tell them what to eat, then you don’t have to wait long. We had King Prawns which were really really tasty and the grilled vegetables were also. You also get a dessert for free! If you want some local sea food - go there.

What a place! We went to Fadhil after being disappointed by a number of places. The food was amazing, it the place really surpassed our expectations. We saw great reviews online, but we were skeptical when we arrived to the restaurant as it looked rustic and far from what most top rates places online look like. Halima and her colleague were superb. We are not sure they are even aware of their success and online reputation. We always like to enjoy local food when we travel and encourage local restaurants. Fadil restaurant was one of them. Octopus with curry and chicken with cinnamon were extremely tasty... finger licking. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and the price is good. The wait is slightly less than in other local restaurants. We recommend it.

Finding delicious food as per my standards in Jambiani is quite a challenge. Lucky you if you are more easy to satisfy. I've tried 15 restaurants around including on the east and north coast. It was not until I tried the excellently flavored Zanzibar Tandoori Chicken, served with deliciously pepper, herb, spicy flavoured rice, and grilled vegetables, that I had the food experience I have longed for in Jambiani. As I am writing this review, I am visiting Chef Mr. Suwadi again, who indeed can advise you on the menu of the time being in English proper. There is electric fans inside, and Mr. Suwadi gently turned them on for me to enjoy my visit! Thank you for your commitment to the food experience!

With my wife, we ordered caramari and octopus. It was perfect. As desert we ate fried bananas. (Translated by Google) At first, they mistakenly thought that the restaurant is where the Fadhil sign is. But this is not the case. The restaurant is a little deep, without an ocean view. We waited for food for about an hour, but that's ok Ordered calamari, shrimp, avocado salad plus drinks 2 beers (it's there) and cola. Everything is awesomely delicious. Price 72,000 local money for two. That's just over $ 30. This is the most delicious thing that we have tried in local restaurants in 4 days. I advise. Это самое вкусное что пробовали в местных ресторанах за 4 дня Советую.

Great traditional restaurant! It is 200m from the beach, on a narrow street in the local neighborhood. The place is clean and the usual waiting time after ordering is aprox 1h - 1h 30min, as usual in Zanzibar. We had the veggie curry with potatoes and grilled calamari with soffran rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. We even got free dessert: fried bananas with chocolate sauce. Yummy! The price is very decent, we had two mains and two fresh juices for 40000shillings ( aprox 20 dollars) You can find so many traditional restaurants in Jambiani, I don’t understand why so few people visit them, as the food is way better than on the hotel restaurants! And also, this way you support the local economy, not just foreigener owned hotels!

The best seafood I've ever eaten. The lobster was delicious! We were staying in Jambiani, we decided to walk to this place. The restaurant itself totally reflects the vibe of the nearby villages we passed through. The place itself looks very unassuming, but the food is delicious and the prices are really acceptable. Do not judge a book by its cover. For all of the fans of seafood and local cousine I highly recommend this place!
