One of my favorite places in Dar. Clean , calm , food is excellent , service is great & lovely ambience

Mama Afrika food and ViBE, yes VIBE in capital, here not only you will get food and friendly hospitality, but also a different kind of vibe to detach yourself from our daily struggles, a pool and beach all in one place and that Afrikan theme that really caught my eye. The food was delicious and yummy and Bertha (Mama Afrika) together with her staff were so nice and kind. Will definitely be passing by this gem to try and taste most of their dishes, Mama Afrika said she has all kind dishes across the continent, can’t wait to test them all as I enjoy the cool breeze from the Indian Ocean.

Absolutely the best food I had in all of Tanzania. And I visited Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam and Arusha. What i loved is that it was traditional Tanzanian cuisine. So flavorful. The decor is chill and relaxing. It’s on the beach…You can’t get any more chill than that. The owner are nice and friendly. It was definately a highlight of my Tanzania trip.

I really like the place 😍😍 it's all about African culture are available here... Their food are amazing their location is very attractive, they have swimming pool and there is ocean.😍😍 I really like this area.. if you go there you won't regret

This restaurant is right on the beach, the sitting areas are nice, there’s is a swim pool (not sure if it can be used). My friend had chicken soup which she loved, I ordered for west African jollof rice which I can’t say I loved, it was just curry powder with rice and God I feel nauseous just typing this,the chicken that came with my rice was good!! It’s mostly eat african meals. Try it

For real we enjoyed our dinner. The staff so friendly and prices are very reasonable. Do yourself a favor, visit Mama Afrika food and vibez restaurant.

Serene! Cute beach restaurant by the beach, Ddnt know such exists in Kawe! Loved their ndizi mzuzu and mishkaki, will dedinetly be going back to tryout the different options on the menu.

I saw a review of the place and decided to visit. The quality of the service was exactly as reported. I had coconut fish, ugali wa muhogo and greens. Delish. The place is calm and great for reading a book.

Excellent restaurant with the most chill vibe. Came to the restaurant on a beautiful Thursday afternoon. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were exceptionally attentive and nice. When in Kawe or Dar, definitely check them out!

Beautiful place with well metained environment. no entry fee. parking facility is available. no heavy music. access to clean beach. food is more of different African preparations, how ever some time things are not available as per the menu.

I love the place, food is amazing, I just wish they would have sound chill music(house) playing as we enjoy the beach😌 that’s just me. It’s a great place to be.

Visiting this place seemed like a good idea, access to the beach, and for some reason people have given it good reviews, however, outside of the nice decor, seating areas and makeshift sandy lounge, the food was appalling. We had the shrimp and Squid, supposedly they were fried and grilled, no flavoring, they were basically boiled, and the prices for that level of food, not worth it. Go for the view if at all, get some drinks and fries, that's it. Please do better Mama Afrika.

Nice African food ( I ordered grill chicken with chips and vegetables ) and the chicken was very smoky from the charcoal flavour. Nice place too with sandy area to play kids around or chill a bit. True that u need to order two beers to get the food at ur table... like most Tz places

Edit: I visited during the day and while the food was good. It was fly fest over there! Original: Mama Africa has the best food! We found it on maps and saying the food is amazing is an understatement! The service is also excellent and it's beachfront. We had Chicken (grilled) Biryani, Beef Pilau, grilled fish with chips, kikulacho, sima wa mhogo, grilled fish and a vegetable in peanut stew.

Nice place for chilling especially when you need your space, but not a place to go and have fun .i would like to define it as a thinking place or a place for serious conversations . Their food is very normal and overpriced and they take too long to deliver.. took us 30min for the ordered tea ☕.

The place is really nice, on the beach, not noisy, perfect to chill with a drink..... but avoid the food. It's pricy and really basic. This place should be "the place to be" but due to poor cooking skills and low quality of ingredients it will never be. Swimming pool always dirty...,, a shame !!

Amazing kuku choma. Kasava leaf sauce is the best I've ever had. The meal takes time, but is worth the wait. Lovely views and atmosphere.

We called in the other night not been for some time, they have done a make over of the seating now VERY GOOD my wife wanted to go on the beach to look at the FULL MOON reflection off the sea, and the staff opened the gate so we could go onto beach it was fantastic it was 11pm thank you so much guys never forgotten 🙏😁
