Nestled
in
the
thick
of
the
Rundugai
Village,
about
38
kms
away
from
Moshi,
Tanzania,
this
hot
spring
is
like
a
hidden
gem
of
an
oasis
in
the
savage,
wild
desert.
The
closest
airport
is
the
Kilimanjaro
International
Airport,about
25
kms
away
from
Rundugai.
As
one
heads
along
the
African
scrubland
with
acacia
trees
and
baobabs
along
the
way,
towards
the
Kikuletwa
Chemka
Hotsprings,
one
sees
out
of
nowhere,
bushes
and
shrubs
blanketing
the
Hotsprings.
The
road
leading
to
the
spring
is
rough
and
bumpy,
nowhere
giving
the
tiniest
signs
of
a
secret
amazement.
The
water
is
a
blend
of
blue
and
green,
turquoise
shades.
At
one
end
of
the
spring,
where
the
water
is
shallow,
there
are
doctor
fishes
that
eat
the
dead
skin
off
the
feet.
The
other
end
of
the
spring
leads
through
a
narrow
stretch
of
deep
water
into
the
open
bay
of
pond,
surrounded
by
palm
and
fig
trees.
The
Kikuletwa
or
Chemka
Hotsprings
are
called
Hotsprings
but
the
water
is
not
really
hot
but
rather
warm
and
relaxing.
There
is
a
Tarzan
swing
for
fun
lovers
to
take
a
swing
into
the
pond.
Give
the
non
uniform
depths
of
the
water,
there
are
also
lifebuoy
rings
and
trained
divers
who
help
the
visitors
through
the
waters.
The
rings
and
diver
helps
cost
a
few
shillings
for
their
price.
The
place
is
a
beautiful
spot
for
a
day's
relaxation.
