Friend's Corner is like a central or navigational high-way for me in Arusha. I often pass here while going for grocery, home or personal shopping. It's a convenient place to get a hiace (daladala). In addition, it's an easily reachable place by many. NB: At first I thought people called it "France Corner" probably because of the local natives' pronunciation. It made me come up with some theories - like there used to be French people, offices or stuff around here. It's only later that I learned how it's pronounced correctly - "Friends' Corner".
