Have been here often. The staff are great, especially once they've seen you a few times. The menu has a variety of tasty options. This is a solid choice for those nights you don't feel like cooking and fancy a treat. Very reasonably priced too. Keep it up guys!

Great food and vibe

This is a small portion of lamb shank - It fell right off the bone. No need for salt or pepper, it was seasoned perfectly. The 70’s rock music was at a nice volume, we could have a good conversation. The Art Deco Festival posters, and surf boat hanging from the ceiling add to the beach vibe. Heavily decorated with wooded tables, benches, and an occasional local artist work, that you could purchase.

What a hidden gem! Amazing food, great hospitality, service (that's rare), parking and location. Yes it is a bit tired, but that could be the charm and atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Grandkids love coming here. Friends is a family friendly restaurant with an affordable kids menu. Kids love the curly fries! with their choice of ice cream. Staff always attentive and friendly on both occasions we have visited.

Interior and environment of the place attract me to visit and try their food. As expected they fullfill your taste and need. Food comes in good condition specially garnishing of each item was very pleasant. everything was nice and tidy no discomfort was there. I enjoyed food with peaceful mind and yummy taste. Perfect place for a cold beer and hot chips. Great outdoor garden bar with lots of umbrellas for shade and a big area for kids to run around. Huge range of delish food on the menu. And more beers on tap than you could drink on a Sunday arvo.

Went there for lunch, had chicken burger in a bowl, was pretty good. Awesome that they offer this option! grilled chicken would of been better. Place was clean,staff were friendly.

Had dinner in the bistro, food was absolutely amazing, service was excellent! very family orientated aswell definitely one of my favorite restaurants to date for sure 😁

Yummo burgers were a treat. The staff run a tight ship and the punters weren't outta control which means, a great family friendly place. Bar up front, bar and food in middle and the Puk the restaurant at the end. Big building, accommodation provided out back, hand crafted bear on premises, so Jeremy and team are doing well. Nice one Napier!

We love this place, amazing rotating craft beer selection. They also have some excellent European beers. They have lots of seating and friendly service, the food menu is really good, and they take care with food allergies. There is an outdoor patio that on weekends they usually have live music. I definitely recommend this place for a burger and beer!

Kid friendly place to eat. They have a change table with a sink and toilet all in one space which was a big help with my 16 month old. The high chair, books, Mr Potato head and more helped to keep him distracted before and after dinner. The food and staff were amazing. I highly recommend making a stop at this place.

We had a great stop over here. The staff were super friendly, food delicious and rooms modern and spacious. Don't be fooled by the appearance from the road, it's a hidden gem.

Thank you for a pleasant experience My husband and I stopped in on our travels throughout New Zealand , we are so glad we did , our stay was honestly just something else , rarely do you experience such great hospitality from start to finish, the service was fabulous , it truly caters for everyone’s needs , sports bars , multiple choice of food to eat, the beer garden was lovely to relax in and have a drink especially after travelling for so long! I truly hope this review helps someone decide on where to go as you will not be disappointed. Thank you!

My wife , father and I stayed here just prior to Christmas, I could not rate the venue high enough, the hospitality was great, accomodation was superb, food was fantastic , the venue caters for all needs , a lovely beer garden , sports bar , they had different types of cuisines. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone , if you are in Napier visiting or reside you will not be disappointed to visit the venue and see for yourself. Great bar and the home of the Napier Brewing Company. The best Pilsner I've had and very busy bar with great atmosphere. The staff are just the best!

My husband and I had lunch here when staying in Napier for a couple of days. The lady who served us was wonderful. She was super friendly and had a lovely manner. We sat outdoors. The setting was just so-so. The three stars is really for the food. I asked about the pork ribs, whether it had heaps of sugar. "Oh, no, no", came the answer. When my meal arrived, there was a nice-looking salad on the plate, some chips and a separate plate of ribs. I can't complain about the price. It was really good value for money. The chips were really nice, too. But the ribs, although cooked really well, were so sickly sweet, and then I ate the salad which had a really, really sweet dressing on it. I felt like I was eating a dessert. My husband had the fish, and he said it was just ok. Pros: Great value for money. Really lovely serving staff (at least the lady we had), yummy chips. Cons: Overall the food wasn't that good. It was quite noisy with the traffic, and the outdoor setting out the front wasn't that nice. I hope this review is seen as helpful by the owner and staff. They have a great atmosphere with good food. There's even a bar with pool table sports on the TV and games. Meet a friend for chess there and had a lovely time.

My chicken nibbles were dry and chewy and fatty. the chips were chewy. had no vegetarian patties for my vegetarian friends and no other options other than mushroom soup and as it was a hot day soup wasn’t an ideal match. the vegetarian platter however has about 10 chips. the samosas, spring rolls and onion rings weren’t crunchy like promised and when the curry puff was broken open the filling was crumbly, dry and smelled off. the tomato sauce was sour and the coke was flat as if it had been left out for days.

Food was disappointing. Chicken tenders were disgusting, not real chicken! Steak burger had fatty steak and burnt bun. Pork panini was full of lettuce and hardly any pork, pork was not very nice at all. Won’t go back there again.

Got given soggy salad, ribs were cold,duck was cold and food came super quick only to realise food was terrible. Also we found it weird that there was no smell and we sat very close to the kitchen?? I looked good coming out but was horrible to eat. Felt like everything was put in the microwave and then served on a plate. She also tried telling me the vinaigrette made the salad soggy, I doubt that happens so quick if it was fresh. Felt like they put more on to hide the yucky lettuce. No happy. Am not going back!! EVER

Not worth it, all frozen stuff. Everything is processed. Better to go to a fast food chain and spend way less. We had to keep reminding the staff of the inclusions from kids meal.

Ideal environment for our work function. Our large group was able to be seated together on one very long table. Delicious meal served by hospital and friendly staff. Had concerns about being able to attend due to a work appointment at 1pm but ordered promptly and was able to leave within the hour. Very happy!

It was great, as always. We often come for a family lunch/drinks, this time we held a work do. Staff are always friendly & efficient. Food was delicious. Only thing I would ask for would be wristbands for function guests, for a security thing for the tab. And also, bigger platters for a function & no need for the side salad to look pretty for a large group. Thanks so much!

A group of us dined in the pub restaurant on a Saturday night. Customer service was exceptional ! Food was ok but not of the high standard you get at the Bayview pub - which is exceptional. Loved the sports on the big screen. People chatter was really loud but then expected on a busy Saturday night. Selection of beers top notch. Overall great pub but food was just ok.

We had our Christmas work function at The Westshore We were greeted by friendly helpful staff. We were advised of a staff shortage and to be honest we didn’t notice… The staff were amazing the food was fantastic and we were all very well looked after… The DM who hosted us through the evening and into the late night was most hospitable and really took great care of all of us. Thanks again to the Westshore team for an amazing no hassle work function we had a blast and would love to do it all again soon.

This pub is awesome , awesome craft beers , awesome staff , awesome food and awesome unit . We stayed here for the night before an early morning flight and it was so good huge selection of beers and the meals were next level so good and the staff were so friendly and attentive…. Thanks heaps

Highly recommend Garth and the team at the Westshore Beach Inn. We recently had my son's 21st in their function room and they help make the night memorable. Garth was great to deal with and nothing was a problem for him to organise. And the food is top notch too 😋👍🏻🙂
