The viewing platform an elevated area to the beach edge and allows you to take beautiful pictures and selfies. I happen to go there last month, before winter is such a beautiful and pleasant weather to enjoy sunlight on this spectacular beach πŸ–. Will go again in spring !

The viewing platform looks like a pier from a distance with a cloud like covering over the top. At first I wasn't sure what it was but it was easy to figure out as you get closer. The platform isn't covered, the cloud roof is as water tight as a cloud. The entrance to the platform is on the beach walkway so it is very easy to get to. It looks like a normal platform with a piece of glass on the end. You walk from the walkway to the edge of the water. It was quite mesmerising watching the waves crash. It was raining when I went so the waves were quite rough and it was quite wet and cold. i still enjoyed walking down the platform to look out at sea for a bit.

Nice little viewing platform that extends out from the Marine Parade walkway towards the ocean. The structure on the end is more artwork than a functional roof or shelter but looks cool regardless. Nice spot to watch the waves and get a good view down the coast.

If you have a desire to get a bird's eye view of waves eroding a pebbly shoreline then this is a must see...

Caught positively by surprise when I walked along the foreshore, as this construction was nowhere to be seen at my last visit some years ago. Only with my smartphone, I missed the opportunity to take a proper photo of the rising of the full (?) moon on 25 September in the center looking out to sea. Another photographer with tripod, tele lense and remote got the shot :-)! I would love to see it. Just wondering now, if there is already a local nickname for it circulation, as "Marine Parade Outfall and Viewing platform" does sound rather unattractive in my mind...

I really liked this viewing platform. I was visiting 'home' over the summer and was surprised to see it as i didn't know it was being built. its awesome and a great addition by adding jazz to our holiday snaps.

πŸ“Marine Parade Beach I heard it's a must-visit spot in Napier, but to me, it looks quite similar to Taiwan's Qixingtan Coast πŸ˜†.

Nice little spot along the Napier waterfront. The platform extends out to where the beach ends and ocean begins. You can get some nice photos from the platform.

Railed bridge. At the end of the bridge, the parapet is made of glass. The last part of the bridge is covered by an interesting modern roof structure, which however does not protect against rain. Here one can see how high waves break on the black beach in stormy winds.

Cool place when it's high tide and the waves are really big. The sound of the stones when the water flushes back into the sea is pretty cool.
