šŸ‘ The outside isn't signposted so I was unsure if I was at the right place but it does look like a bar from the inside. At first glance it looks quite small but interesting with the large bar on one side and shrubbery and art on the walls. The TV shows the beer selection and there are menus on the bar... People often mention beer, Great, friendly, craft, selection, staff, beers,

The outside isn't signposted so I was unsure if I was at the right place but it does look like a bar from the inside. At first glance it looks quite small but interesting with the large bar on one side and shrubbery and art on the walls. The TV shows the beer selection and there are menus on the bar for food and wine. There is a set of stair around the back which leads to a larger seating area upstairs. There are comfy seats up here as well as tables with stool and a counter overlooking the window. They serve a range of bar snacks, some of which look interesting. The wonton basket is not a basket of wontons. It is a pair of wonton bowls with fillings. Portions are for snacking. I thought it was a nice place for a drink.

One of the very few craft beer places that won't let you taste a small sample before you buy a glass. The first beer was nice and the bartender HAD allowed me to try things first, so I was going for a second and some food, but when the rather in-your-face owner (presumably) took over the service and said I couldn't taste anything else, I decided to spend my money elsewhere. Not the greatest impression given, sorry.

18 different craft brewed beers on tap and some very tasty snacks, ie full of flavor or picky. The Tigermilk IPA (6,6%) is excellent, it's clean and hoppy.

First time at this bar, good first impressions, went upstairs and very nice warm day so large windows were open. Good service and nice toilets too. Would recommend to all.

We came here the other day for lunch. Their menu is small but all the items we have tried are very good tasting. Definitely would come here again next time we visit Napier again.

Rough Hops has easily the most exciting range of craft beers in Napier. The Burger & Chips for $20 was sensational. The chuncky crispy chips were served with a delicious tomato relish and the burger made the taste buds dance up to the last bite.

A small friendly speakeasy, the staff are very friendly and quickly get to know you, it is often full downstairs, but has plenty of seating upstairs. There is also plenty of seating on the path outside with heaters. The pork dumplings are to die for and the rest of the menu is awesome. The beers on tap change often, and you can even take home your favourite beer home in a can, prepared as you wait.

These guys are exactly what Napier was waiting for! I'm just gutted I didn't think if doing the same. A cocktail bar mixed with a board game room mixed with a NZ beer kellar! What's not to love? They also do food and non alcoholic drinks - including tea and coffee for those not partaking in booze. Makes it a super social place for drinkers and non drinkers alike. Has a front Street outside section as well as an inside and upstairs sun room. Great place. Great drinks Great choice.

We like to sit outside at the tables on the street or upstairs with the big windows open. Service is friendly and fast - these people enjoy what they do ... and you can tell! You can stick to your favourite drinks or try something new ... let them know what you normally like and they can recommend something new to try! The tapas plates especially dumplings seem to be popular ... I will have to try a couple of them on my next visit !
