I will never forget my experience here, two of my friends and I flew in late from outer islands and because it was my last day in Tarawa we decided to go out for dinner. All the places we went to was closed so The George was the last place. The staff were so friendly and kind to open their kitchen just for us. Food was great also and I'm definitely recommending this place for all. A big Ko Rabwa and Tiabo to The George .

Had a pleasant 3 nights at the George hotel. Everyone was friendly and went out of there way to ensure that you were happy. Rooms are basic. Air conditioning in every room. Hot water out of the shower. Can get a little bit noisy at night, but there are several quiet rooms, so just ask the staff. Food was great and price was so cheap. Beds comfortable. Beers were cold. Internet was fast. They had backup generator, so you didn't have to wait for the power to come back on. Don't expect Beers on the beach or anything fancy like a pool.

Very nice and friendly people who like joking. Don't expect western standards. As there is a kind of Night Club on the other side of the road belonging to the Hotel, it could be loud until late. Food and breakfast is ok. Anyway there is no big choice and on this island than staying George Hotel

I stayed in June for a wk & loved it! Central Betio location, walking distance to everything, enclosed compound w/ security, airport transfers, buffet breakfast, serves lunch/dinner outdoors,,has open air bar, cottages,I stayed in small room about reservation counter but liked it,refridge cube, have to pay for decent Wifi, staff friendly (espec Rose - miss her!) prob less$ that better quality Betio Lodge but better/quieter than Betio Lodge II(stayed there 2 nites)

A good place if you consider the fact that Kiribati is not so much of a tourist oriented country...The facilities are ok.Food could be better. But overall an awesome experience.

George hotel is at the opposite end of the airport, walking distance to the domestic, international port, Utilities, energy office and marine dept which is convenient for those working in these areas.

The George Hotel Tarawa 73004375 73004364 Prices. AU $ Economy: $100.00 Standard: $ 112.25 Deluxe: $ 130.00 It is a basic hotel, with basic service and poor WiFi, that you have to pay. You don't have many choices on this island; there are 2 Betio Lodge (more expensive) and there is the Mary Hotel (close to Bairiki). Maybe there are some others, but these are near Betio Wharf.
