Unfortunately I have to say that I had a terrible experience and can not recommend it . There was no information about the station being closed, when I arrived, there was nothing but construction work and small polish signs that were really confusing. Nobody could help and I then missed my train, never again!! The only way to not miss the train with that construction is to take a local taxi but if you arrive with public transport and are a foreigner, you will be completely lost and left alone. Horrible experience!! If you are a more or less international Wintersports area, there should be some signs in English. But not even Polish signs were clear about were to go to enter the station. I still did not find the replacement station. I will never want to go there again!!

In short - a must see place! In long - for me the trip to zakopane was a form of escaping my covid lifestyle of being couped up in a room and staring at my laptop but it turnout to be one of my experiences ever and i would definitely come back. Zakopane is a place of culture which is not that easy to see in other big cities which is refreshing to say the least , from the wooden log houses to their traditional embroidered dresses and just the joyous environment around the place will make your heart feel the warm and leave you mesmerized. This is all without considering the mountains surrounding the place, everywhere i turned i say a scenic view of the snowy mountains behind the city which looked so unreal that i took nearly 1000 photos in just 3 days. The locals are very friendly and welcoming and a large part of people speak english. So if you are thinking about going to s zakopane then you should definitely check it out

Great fun. We stayed for 3 nights and went hiking for the two full days we were there. Amazing sight and delicious food all round. Highly recommended!

Its a nice place! but not everyone wears a mask which in these times is a must! They do it in public transportation to be fair, but not in the crowded streets.

Just an overlap at the bus station! Actually there're two bus stations in the town! Train station under reconstruction as of October, 2023!

If you're traveling solo and not a skier, you'll get bored after a day. It's more for families with lots of activities for children. After you walk up and down the main street that's unpleasantly overcrowded there's not much to do. Some good restaurants and hiking if that's your thing

Small bus station. For people heading back to krakow, best to buy your bus tickets online beforehand so you can plan your time better and most of the bus station staff dont speak english.

Fantastic town right in the South of Poland. Went down to minus 6 today while there on January 23rd. Great eateries and bars. Lots to do and see. Skiing is an option here
