We
visited
mainly
for
bird
watching
but
also
to
appreciate
the
beauty
of
the
landscape.
It's
a
large
area
and
we
only
had
3
hours,
but
we
manage
to
see
a
lot.
You
do
need
a
car
or
a
bike
really.
There
are
3
lakes
close
together
on
the
south
coast
with
several
hides,
so
we
headed
there,
and
visited
about
4
hides,
that
was
enough
for
us.
Observatori
de
la
Tancada
was
best
for
Flamingos
(1000+),
and
Reserva
Natural
Riet
Vell
for
Glossy
Ibis
(100+).
The
highest
concentration
of
other
birds,
including
harriers,
seemed
to
be
in
the
rice
fields
and
agricultural
land,
where
you
can
usually
just
pull
in
at
the
side
of
the
road.
Also
enjoyed
the
enormous
beach
at
the
end
of
the
lake
road,
Platja
del
trabucador.
Plenty
of
maps
around
the
reserve
and
bird
id
charts,
we
printed
ours
off
the
website
before
arrival
so
we
could
plan
our
day.
Didn't
find
any
toilets
so
guess
you
will
have
to
buy
a
drink
in
a
local
bar
or
cafe
if
you
want
one.
