Very happy I got to this bar! Just around the corner from the Salamanca strip, it’s out of the ‘busy’ and potentially messy night scene. When walking in, it was a very spacious bar and beautiful decor that felt quite luxurious and industrial at the same time… The drinks were quick, the menu had some fun looking drinks and it was laid out well, and the service was awesome - I got greeted straight away. The shelves were amazing, so many spirits available!! Both cocktails I had were perfect for what I was feeling, and how they ‘should’ taste. That’s always nice (haha). It was a chill evening so got to chat to the bartenders about some other places in Hobart to visit and they had great spots that suited me. I also got to meet another lovely human sitting at the bar, so Society attracts nice people (bonus!). Would recommend popping in and having a drink here!

I just love Society, the cocktails - magnificent! My favourites are the Still Rose - subtle, ever so slightly sweet and so drinkable. And the Southeast Gimlet. Perfect. Although, if you’ve no idea, just chat to the staff, they know all there is to know about cocktails, spirits, flavours and origins even! This place has a welcoming atmosphere, warm cosy interior, huge drink selection, amazing staff who are so knowledgeable about all the drinks there. I’ve been multiple times and each time has been a fabulous experience. There’s no pomp about the place, I’ve been welcomed in jeans and in dresses with pearls - I love that about a place. Drag night bingo is always a hoot! Love it. The food is simple easy, and thank goodness, not fried which is a huge plus for me. I love a nice selection of food with drinks. Cannot fault this place! Highly recommend.

One of my absolute favourite places to go for a delicious cocktail, fantastic atmosphere with service that is above all expectations. Highly recommended place to go.

My wife and I have frequented society several times. For our own evenings out or part of a group for the drag night bingo evenings. Every time we have been very impressed with not only the food and cocktails but also topped up with outstanding friendly and professional service.

Society is just fabulous in every way! The moment you step inside, you know you’re in Hobart’s finest cocktail bar. Owners Ange and Emma have probably one of the best spirit collections you can find in Tasmania, and the cocktails are world class … and delicious! Perfect ambience with soft warm lighting, definitely one of my favourite cocktail bars on Hobart!!

Society recently hosted my work Christmas party - they provided an amazing charcuterie spread of cheeses, meats, sushi, dips, bread and fruit. Society also have an incredible selection of spirits, cocktails and mocktails, plus the staff are super lovely, and ready to help with dietaries! Will be back again soon - I think this is my new favourite bar! 🍹

Very cool place to have a fancy gin or whisky! They have hundreds of different bottles, and an awesome vibe within the bar. The ladder they use to get bottles off the shelf looks like something out of Harry Potter!

A great little place to sit and drink whiskey and gin. Large selection knowledgeable staff, with a friendly disposition. Have visited several times, and never had the same drink twice. A Salamanca nightlife staple.

As an out of Towner, Society Salamanca is a welcoming hearth for anybody who enjoys fine drinks. The bar has a charming ambience but best of all, it has friendly and welcoming staff.

Elegant bespoke bar with an impressive collection of spirits. Cosy, classy vibes, excellent service, and the most delicious baked brie. Also, on a Wednesday night, fun trivia and delicious tacos/nachos. Highly recommend.

This venue is a little gem. Lovely owner. Very knowledgable in their profession and a magnificent selection of Whiskeys. If you miss Society you have missed a very enjoyable drink… or two. Footnote. The manager was amazing. Great personality and very, very helpful.

Oct 2022: awesome little cocktail bar hidden away in plain sight, just up from Salamanca Place. Super friendly team and absolutely delicious cocktails! Finger food (tacos etc) are served at a reasonable cost and make sure you attend for entertainment nights such as drag bingo or trivia nights.
