Very divine place. Must visit if you are on the way to Araku. The approach road from the highway is a little narrow. Park your vehicle at the toll gate. Two wheelers can go further up to steps. 20-25 minutes steep climb. Carry water bottle. There are plenty of monkeys on the way. The parking fee is Rs.20.

Its a beautiful place with surrounded by hills. Its a famous for Lord shiva temple, and as per the tales it is said that Pandavas have installed a marble Shiv Ling and water passes through it all 365 days. Presently they have a small Shiv Ling under which Water continously flows. One can go by vehicle upto the foot hill and from there steps are there to reach top. After taking a dip in the water one will just forget all the hardships of climbing. Its a pleasant place to be in with splendid view of the surroundings. There are lot of Monkey's around and better carry a stick. During Kartika month lot of devotees visit from nearby places and whole area becomes very lively.

You can't see the waterfall but it's stream is what you can. View from top is amazing. You need to climb some very steep stairs to reach to top. There are a lot of monkeys but they don't steal anything as such. (They mind their own business). There is a Temple (Shiva temple i guess) at the Top.

Punya Giri Lord Shiva Temple is a captivating destination that offers a delightful blend of spirituality, natural beauty, and serene surroundings. Nestled amidst lush greenery, this temple provides a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere for devotees and visitors alike. The temple's location amidst nature adds to its charm, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a spiritual retreat in the lap of nature. The surrounding landscapes are breathtaking, with scenic vistas, rolling hills, and vibrant flora that create a soothing ambiance. The temple's setting allows visitors to immerse themselves in the serenity and beauty of the natural environment. One of the highlights of Punya Giri Temple is the presence of waterfalls in close proximity. These cascading waterfalls provide a refreshing and invigorating experience, especially during the monsoon season when they are at their fullest. The sound of the rushing water combined with the scenic backdrop makes for a truly mesmerizing sight. However, it is worth mentioning that while the presence of monkeys can be entertaining for some, it is important to exercise caution and be mindful of their presence. It is advisable not to feed them or engage in any actions that may disturb them or pose a risk to visitors' safety. Following the guidelines provided by the temple authorities regarding interacting with the monkeys is essential to ensure a harmonious coexistence. Overall, Punya Giri Lord Shiva Temple offers a fulfilling experience for both devotees and nature enthusiasts. It is a place where spirituality merges seamlessly with natural beauty, providing a serene and calming environment. Whether you seek solace, wish to witness the captivating waterfalls, or simply want to explore the wonders of nature, this temple is definitely worth a visit for everyone.

Worth a shot! A temple on top of a hill and a small waterfall is all that there is. Carry a water bottle as the steps are pretty steep and it gets tiring. In case you're travelling by road, please take a small car as the approach road is narrow.

Ages old temple as old as everything which is at present. This temple is a replica that we are nature & we'll cherish with it's blessings. This 7000 year old temple is situated on the elevation of approximately 300 to 400 meters above sea level. You'll just experience enchanting paths which will lead you towards the adobe. All your five senses will be mesmerized with the postive aura around & will be thrilled with waterfalls all over the place. Fresh stream water which is flowing above marble Shiva Lingam all the 365 days since last 7K years. Yet due to some strong reasons the marble idol has been covered in mid 1970's by the main priest of the temple & now all the poojas are performed to the deity which is placed above the covered structure. One to to hike more than 275 steps to reach. You'll find lot's of new flora and fauna. Massive trees covered with thick layers of moss, new types of forest fruits and flowers. So many πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’ so be cautious, don't try to feed or tease or pamper them as they are wild monkeys might attack you. Just ignore them & move ahead. After reaching the summit you can have breathtaking views of the valley & cool mountain Breeze will mesmerize your senses. Be careful when descend the summit as the speed will be more. Check clicks for more understanding. Try to visit after Karteeka Masam (to avoid huge crowds) from December to March you'll love the wheather too.

Peace n Tranquility A must visit place for any explorer of nature, history or devotional seeker. Nice path with 300 odd steps leading to a mesmerizing view of S.Kota Constantly accompanied by monkeys who seem to be less aggressive; probably cause this story pertains to mahabharatha. Pious water, sacred place and devotional ambience makes this attractive. Older generation, knee or heart patients should avoid.

It's 1.8 km journey from the bottom. Half of the journey is very easy because it has roads. Another half has stairs. And monkeys try to grab anything in your hand, so be careful. The entry ticket cost is β‚Ή20 for each. You can use your bike to complete half of the journey.

Visiting the temple was a unique experience with a scenic 2-kilometer trek solely comprised of steps. The journey added a sense of spiritual anticipation. The temple, while crowded, emanated a pleasant atmosphere, fostering a strong sense of community and devotion. The lush surroundings and captivating waterfalls added to the serene ambiance, making the visit not just a religious pilgrimage but also a refreshing nature retreat.

The temple flooring is made of rock stone. The gopuram of the temple is made of sand stone and the outer walls of the temple mandapa is designed with sculptures of gods and goddesses. The most prominent feature of the temple is that the lingam enshrined in the temple is bathed by an underground water source.

It's a temple surrounded by full of nature's beauty. It's located on a small hill top. You have to climb 200 steps approximately. Vehicles can reach upto the point of steps. From there, there's no way except to climb the steps. But the way while passing through the steps is awesome surrounded by the nature. You will find a small waterfall while passing through the steps. The sound coming from the waterfall is awesome. You will find lot of monkeys on the steps. If you are not alert, they jump on you and grab whatever they get from you. Hence better to carry a stick along with you when you start at the steps.

It's a very unique place, but It's not got recognised as per its own speciality. It's a sacred land , where Pandavas lived aranyavas and agnathavas in Mahabharath. Very historical place . Don't lose a chance can visit.

Place was beautiful and the places from the mountain look's awesome! The waterfalls makes you to swim and the main disadvantage is too far for the disabled and old age people for walk to reach the temple! So there should be a some strategy to develop
