We had an amazing time eating, drinking and doing trivia. My favorite thing was the asparagus. It was perfectly seasoned, slightly crisp but super tender. The braised cabbage oddly reminded me of beef jerky seasoning. I liked it, but it was A LOT on its own. If it was mixed into a hot salad kind of dish I could really get behind it. We really loved the fresh pretzel. It was a highlight for sure. The Döner was not great. It was like a sad gyro. I really miss this food and recommend using shaved cabbage and cartot mix for a authentic flavor and crunch to elevate this dish. I do recommend this place and I'll be back for sure.

Best local German food around in a cute, vintage, rustic bar. Why deal with Oktoberfest chaos once a year when you can have Wunderbar all year round?

I wish I could rate them higher - they had some legitimate German food and beer.. the giant pretzel is amazing and should be shared.. I was talked into the schnitzel sandwich and would concur - it was INCREDIBLE! Someone adjacent to us had the burger and that looked great, too..! Plus outdoor seating and live music - we will definitely return!

Smaller inside than we were expecting but we enjoyed the tasty burgers, sandwiches, and sausages. We also appreciated the wide selection of roasted vegetables.

Great beer and an AMAZING pretzel with dips. My wife and I shared this one (her hand is pictured for scale) and we loved every bite of it. It was so generously portioned that we decided to skip our actual dinner later that night.

Wunderbar is one of my favorite German restaurants in Kentucky. What it lacks in size it makes up for in drink selection and quality of food. I’ve been here no less than 4 times in the last 6 months. Highly recommend it if your looking for a chill bar to hang out at with a couple of friends and family.

The best hot pretzel appetizer I've ever had. Authentic German food including sausage platters.

Such an awesome vibe, the music has been top notch every time all 5 times I've been there, the drinks are cheap well cheaper than anywhere else in main Strauss though it's 2 blocks from Strauss village and 2 blocks from Madison&Pike bar district. The female bartenders are sexy, witty, and sassy the guy bartenders are funny, outlandish, and comically cynical towards the world as a whole! But I met the owner, and that guy super cool, you seem self-assured and confident let's still empathetic and connecting with the other patrons, when he took a moment to introduce himself to me he was really connecting and interested in who I am and what I do, with no other motives than to get to know me it was refreshing and that's why I keep going back. It's definitely Northern Kentucky's grateful Dead family bar! But it's definitely worth checking out to see if it's the kind of vibes you're looking for, there's good, real people there!

Nice little gem. Been three times now and it's always a pleasure. A bunch of fun burgers, specialty sausages (some of which are house made), and awesome apps. Great selection of cans draft beer. Have had a different bartender each visit and they've all been fun.

What a food trip! Did not expect such high class dishes coming out of a hole in the wall bar. So good.

The food is amazing, every time. The staff are always friendly. I’ve been several times and never had anything but a great experience. Side note, the vegetables are always fresh, cooked perfectly and I love that everything is local.

This place consistently has great sausages and great roasted vegetables. I'm sure all the rest of the food is good that's just what my picks are. I'm sure everything else on the menu is top-notch. That's also a great selection of live music.

Food is absolutely delicious!!! The bartender Randy was very nice and helpful ☺️. Weather was a little chilly so we didn't sit outside but they have a great patio area!! Great background music!!

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday right as they opened. I saw on reddit that they had the best pretzel and beer cheese -- Wunderbar did not disappoint! (neither did reddit) Ashley, the bartender, was super friendly and helpful with navigating us through the different options, made recommendations, and seemed to know all the right details about each dish. Shoutout to the cook, the food was amazing. Wife said this was the best sausage/kraut she's ever had. The pretzels live up to the hype, and the hamburger was massive. Great flavors, spices, you name it. Awesome vibe, incredible food! We will definitely be back soon!

When i go out of town, this is the type of place i love finding. Looked like a dive bar from the outside, had a welcoming local feel, great food, great selection of beers, and great service. I had the Bacon & Brie sandwich, Citrus Cilantro Sausage, Chicken & Kale Sausage, Bacon Slaw, and Pierogies. I will definitely visit this place again if I’m in the area.

For us, this place was great; only 5 tables inside and 10 bar seats but, but not packed (Sat evening). The food was incredible (get the pretzel), drinks were reasonable, and the live music outside was the perfect volume inside. We liked the "no table service." You order at the bar which negates server reliance and allows an "at you own pace" experience. Would go again.
