Where do you even start with this place? I guess we start with the pool during my stay there for families got violently ill after swimming in the pool. Probably not where you want to take your kids swimming. The carpets in the hallways and the stairways are filthy. It looks like the stairways have never been cleaned, and they stink very badly as well as the elevator.. the people staying there or not guest from out of town. They are locals that live there. The manager allows a gentleman to approach that guest that are checking in and ask them if they would like their vehicle detailed when you come out of the front of the building, there is loud music weed smoke, and some guy detailing cars. If you have a pet, there is not a single blade of grass or place for you to take your pet to use the bathroom. The parking lot in the front of the building has potholes large enough to swallow up your vehicle. If you have a nice vehicle, you definitely don’t want to drive through the parking lot with it. Now the staff…. The manager caters to the local homeless and junkies in the area allows them to stay in the hotel and hang out in the parking lot around your vehicles. She is rude and likes to talk to you like she is above you or has some type of authority over you. The young lady that works third shift is about 20 to 23 years old and has the biggest attitude I’ve ever seen from a customer service worker. This place is just beyond unpleasant. The young lady that works third shift is about 20 to 23 years old and has the biggest attitude I’ve ever seen from a customer service worker. This place is just beyond unpleasant and not a great place to go if you would like to ruin your. If you are looking to ruin your experience in Detroit, this is the place to go. Otherwise, I would highly recommend you find a hotel that has some class and integrity because this place is not it.

This has got to be ONE OF THE WORST HOTELS I've ever stayed in. Go there and went to room...entire floor smelled like pot and urine. Went back to front desk and told them we wanted a refund and we were leaving. Was there with our child and while in the parking lot apon arrival was approached by 3 homeless junkies that they allowed in thr building "to get a coffee" for money and cigarettes. I gave them cigarettes but did not like that they were allowed to roam the building. Not with my kid there...do not recommend. Room was filthy with food on floors. Toilet not cleaned and bed broken...was disgusting.

I stayed here while working out of town the hotel was clean the rooms were nice and the price was good. The only two down falls were no smoking in the rooms and a terrible continental breakfast. But I would still comeback to stay here next time I'm in town.

Under new management, they are doing renovations, and really putting a lot of love into the hotel! You’ll definitely see me staying there in future. Brady is the new manager and he treated my wife and I with such respect kindness to ensure our stay was as good as can be. I definitely recommend staying here.

Nice place to stay in. Location is convening. They have parking spots. They also have a small swimming pool with treadmill. They also offer free coffee in the lobby around the clock. The staff was really nice. The rooms are spacious. The washrooms very clean. I would choose them next time.

Came here yesterday with my girlfriend for our 1 year anniversary. Around 11pm we were in the jacuzzi, and on standing up discovered a cockroach underneath her. We have pictures and proof it was here. We're told by the desk last night that everything would be taken care of for a refund, but still had to turn all of our things inside out to make sure we didn't bring bugs home and drove almost an hour home in the snow. Today I Received a text from the guy working the desk last night, who isn't even a manager, telling me that he was sure it wasn't our room and they didn't have roaches. Management had not been informed and was taken off guard when I obviously called immediately to figure this out. Dirty. Do not stay if you do not want to bring bugs back to your home.

Room was absolutely disgusting, unknown stains and substances ALL over the room, all over the floor, walls and carpets. There was literally pink and brown stains all over the bed. Chairs were so filthy, they were stained black. There was nail polish smeared all over the phone and table. Clock was broken. When we asked for a refund, front desk manager NORMA acted annoyed and refused to call the third party we booked through for a refund. We ended up still getting the refund but 0/5 experience. Do not stay here, it is absolutely disgusting, and the manager is so not helpful at all.

We stayed at this hotel this past Saturday to Monday. When we checked in the room was cold. When it was time to sleep the room was hot. A/c stopped working. The bed also sat three inches off the floor. We were on a birthday fishing trip and drove all the way from Green Bay, WI. When we checked in it was late. After a 7.5 hour drive all we wanted to do was eat a bit and sleep. Bags were unpacked and jewelry was taken off. A bracelet had fallen off the table and we over looked it. I gathered what I thought was all the jewelry, boxed it up and placed it in our luggage Sunday morning before we left for that day, hung the "do not disturb" (I don't remember what it actually said)sign on the door. We got back into the room late Sunday night. Check out time came Monday and we packed to move on. Tuesday morning is when we realized that a bracelet was not in the box. Mind you we all ready checked out of that hotel. The bracelet would have been in the same spot it fell. I understand the hotel is not responsible for lost, damaged and so they say left behind items. One would hope a courtesy call would have been made to let us or others know. Especially with certain items. Nope. I called the hotel by noon Tuesday and asked about it. Front desk worker told me both manager and the housekeeper happen to be off and nothing was brought to the front. She took my info so the manager could contact me back. I ended up calling the Red Roof Inn Corporate Office about this. Upon looking into my situation, I received an email stated that they are not responsible. Basically the housekeeper is able to pocket any and everything left behind no matter what it may be!?!?!?!?!? And don't get me started on $100 fee. We paid and had the reservation and when it came time to check in, we were told there was this additional fee to be paid before getting our key. Now this fee was to be paid and said to be deposited back into our account 5-7 business days. This fee was to make sure we did no damage. Ridiculous. I want to know why we, and other people that reserve a room, couldn't receive a courtesy call especially if items left were/are with it???????? It has been almost 24 hours since I called the hotel and left my information. No call back!!!!!!!!!!

I stayed 2 nights and I'm very unsatisfied with my service. I highly recommend not coming here. While I was here I experienced bed bugs and roaches. My room was not cleaned the proper way when I arrived. I reported to the front desk my sheets were dirty and asked for new sheets and towels aswell. The lady was completely rude and told me I was complaining to much. I'm highly disappointed with this terrible costumer service.

We booked our rooms a month in advance and requested connecting rooms as we are a family of 6. When we arrived to the hotel we were 8 minutes early for check in so they had us wait. When it was time to check in it took about 25 minutes to get us checked into our rooms… but they had no connecting rooms available. Well, they had one, but not the other. The line behind us was out the door. So instead they gave us rooms across the hall from each other. One was a king bed with a pull out, the other was two doubles (we wanted two rooms with two doubles… as that was what we booked). They required $100 deposit for each room… even on a credit card. I’ve traveled all over the world and never paid that much unless I was paying cash. The rooms… dirty. Our bathroom had no toilet paper and burnt out light bulbs. You could tell the shower walls hadn’t been cleaned as they had gross stuff all over them. The kitchenette badly needed to be cleaned. The fireplace in the room didn’t work. Our bedspread had cigarette burn marks all over it. The sheet had stains up by where our heads would do. There was masking tape over the sprinkler. The list goes on and on. If I could give zero stars. I would. Stay anywhere but here.

From the moment I stepped into the welcoming ambiance of the Red Roof Hotel, I knew I was in for a remarkable stay. This hotel exceeded all expectations. The friendly staff, led by the exceptional Brady, went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my visit was nothing short of extraordinary. Brady's dedication to customer service, his warm smile, and genuine hospitality made me feel like a valued guest, and his attention to detail ensured that every need was met promptly and efficiently throughout my stay. I recommend this establishment for an unforgettable stay. Thank you, Brady, for making my time at the Red Roof Hotel truly outstanding!

Stayed here a couple days ago and was absolutely impressed by the quality of the hotel. I was greeted by Brady and Christian at the front desk. They were quick, fast, and easy to work with and get me a room. They are absolutely fantastic. The customer service is absolutely amazing. Brady and Christian is always helpful and always was able to answer any questions I had or concerns I had encountered. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is in the area and needs a quick spot to stay at. They prioritise safety and comfortably like never seen before. Amazing.

New management is making a huge difference! Brady was especially kind and helpful. I stayed here before and after new management took over and it is a night and day difference. They are also renovating which is awesome. I will definitely be back there soon!

Stayed here a couple days ago and I have to say I am extremely impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and the service that was provided to me. From the housekeepers to the manager this place offers unbelievable hospitality and really knows how to please their guests. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Also just found out the place went under new management a couple weeks prior to my stay, and they’re definitely making a great first impression. 10/10 Stay

Of the "budget hotels" we have stayed in on our current trip, this one is a cut above. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and well supplied. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, nice TV, ironing board and even a small safe in the closet. WiFi signal is good. There is an ice machine, a vending machine and even a guest laundry on the third floor. There is an ATM machine in the lobby, and a nice seating area with a TV. They also have a small "convenience store" area with the basics for sale. The breakfast left a bit to be desired, (coffee, toast, bagels) but they did have some fruit and yogurt. (We chose to go to a nearby diner - Oakwood Coney and Grill is less than half a mile away). We stayed here while visiting the Henry Ford museum, which is about 3.5 miles away. We would stay here again.

When we came into the room, we thought it was perfect. Clean toilet, clean room, clean everything. But then, it turned out that we had no wifi, no hangers and a bed that smells like urine. When we uncovered the sheets it was completely stained with it. We called the front desk and they said that they can’t do anything about it. We ended up doing a refund and leaving. That was my unforgivable Detroit experience.

Follow me for more reviews 🙂🙃🙂 Quick review: - No frills, it is not fancy - Budget friendly - Convenient and useful - The front desk was regularly empty all night and most of the day - They have a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker in the room - It is not any kind of a resort or getaway destination - Watch the sign at the front desk that threatens to keep your deposit if you are not out by 11am on the dot on the day of your check out More details: Comfortable room and large bathroom with cigarette burns on the toilet seat (ick 🤮) The desk chair had the foam ripped off of the left arm and there was debris on the seat (ew 🤢) They gave two small, thin pillows for each bed (wow 🙀) what were they thinking? I barely slept and I'm not quite sure why I couldn't sleep 😔 The coffee maker is missing a component (icbinb 🤯) The floors didn't look horrible but I make it a rule to never walk barefoot in public places anyway and I have a feeling that the carpet was disgusting and not vacuumed (butterface 😹) I'm a little bored, can you tell??? (LoL 😂😆😂) Paper thin walls, slamming doors, and running water (📢🕳️💥) Saved a lot of money and it's still a waste because the night is over and all I got was the right to sleep somewhere for a few hours but it could've been worse Outside of that they are completely indoors with no access to the outside except from the first floor and the lobby, which is less of a motel experience and more like a proper hotel Everyone is different. Use your own discretion. Don't take life too seriously if you decide to stay here.

I stayed here twice. The first time was great. It was quiet and came at a good price. Seeing that all the other hotels would have broke my pocket. The second time was even better. Updates, always clean, professional service and price still cheap. I recommend.

Front desk gentleman at check-in was quite nice and the lady that helped him when he had questions was patient with him. The breakfast was pretty good, too. The room was clean. The tv wasn't the greatest, but we didn't really need it. It would have been nice to have more than shampoo and a soap bar for faces for the shower and only a soap bar for faces for washing hands. But it was ok.

Warning THIEVES I paid 200+(with deposit). for one night and prior to me checking in I smoked in my vehicle and probably smelled like smoke when checking in anyways the lady waited untill I paid for my room just to get a call saying i couldn't stay and I'm not getting my deposit..but why didn't you just say no instead of checking me in and stealing my money I wasn't even there for 20 minutes never smoked in your hotel!!🤬🤬.. dont stay unless you wanna get stolen from the broke lady at front desk Just a warning before she steals from anyone else. it's giving me the impression the workers are junkies and broke karma will get you.

Room 305 was kinda clean, mold in the cracks of the shower surround. Window was jammed and couldn't close all the way, static or interference on all channels of the TV. Pool was closed, staff at the service desk was nice and helpful. Clean lobby and grounds. Very and I mean very limited "free breakfast" but the beagles were fresh. Orange juice was water with a tint of yellow(not drinkable)

Stayed here for a week when I checked in the room smelled like weed. I couldn't find the remote while searching for it I made the mistake of looking under the bed. It was gross there was a broken glass pipe and so much dirt and dust. The widow was open and had a syringe setting outside of it. I went to the front desk and complained the guy gave me a remote and told me how to set it up. He offered to switch my room but acted completely inconvenienced so I just said not to worry. My stay wasn't bad most of the staff was friendly. The pool was closed and that was disappointing because I specifically asked about the pool when I booked. The second day of my stay the water was turned off till 5pm no notice or warning. I found PlayStation games behind the TV so I could tell it hadn't been cleaned properly. After my stay they STOLE my deposit saying I smoked in the room. Completely untrue they watched me go outside for every cigarette and even complained because I was by the trash smoking ( I didn't want to smoke near the door). If you decide to book at this location just don't expect a clean room or to get your deposit back.

Terrible room service. In fact, we never had any in 3 days! The staff was aloof and appeared to be hiding. Ran out of food for breakfast as well as the coffee in the lobby. Makes the red roof inns located in NC appear to be adequate and they were AWFUL. The card quit working to open the door and thin walls. Too easy to hear others.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Over service was exceptional and I highly recommend and definitely send my friends and colleagues 😊👍

The rooms were so clean and the rooms were so awesome and beautiful. The new management has really turned it around and it’s the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Detroit! Definitely will be back! They are so nice!

Beautiful hotel and the staff is amazing! Our trip to Detroit/Dearborn started as a nightmare (we had major issues with a different hotel) but, Roger at the front desk saved our weekend and turned it all around for us. He was able to find a room for us late on a Friday of a holiday weekend. He was compassionate and truly cared. Thank you Red Roof (and especially Roger) for a safe and clean place to sleep while we visited your city!

This was a solid stay. At the time they didn’t have TV but gave me something to plug into my phone and TV, sadly it didn’t work. The rooms were okay. A couple holes in the door of the bathroom. But the beds were great. The hallway needs work. The elevator looks like puke on the floor. But the price isn’t too bad, and hopefully they’ll work on getting everything up to date. Front desk guy was nice.

This place is a joke, drove 9 hours to visit Detroit, decided to stay here due to the price. We arrived around 4 an hour after check-in time and had to wait another hour for our room to be ready. Then once we get our room it was pretty nice other then the ceiling leaking when it would rain. I notified the front desk about the roof leaking and her reply was " what you want me to do about it " so for the last 2 nights me and my wife stayed there we slept on the pull out couch bed while the ceiling leaked on their king bed. And then I emailed them because moone at the front desk was going to correct this situation whoever emailed me back told me that it was a leaking window and they would have it fixed. But I have pictures of the CEILING leaking not the window. I emailed them the pictures of the ceiling and there has been no reply

1 of the biggest ripoffs for motel stays around...clowns try to charge almost a 400 dollar deposit because I have a well mannered dog..and 1 weeks to stay at this basic ghetto place is 600 dollars ??? 2500 a month ..please...Do the math to compare to apartments around the area..double the amount..What are these businesses smoking?

My ONLY complaint is they don't offer late checkout, or the girl at the desk wasn't aware. We were there because it was close to a concert we were attending. Didn't get back until 2am. I'm WELL aware that this is a me problem, however, ANY other hotel, including the same family of hotels, give you an extra hour or 2 of you request it. I woke up around 8 am, and inquired at the desk about a late checkout. I was informed they'd have to keep my deposit if we weren't out around 11. I asked how late we could stay if I forfeited my deposit and she said she didn't think that was an option. she looked pretty young so it's possible she was misinformed

Stayed for 5 days and on Christmas Eve the two front tires on our only vehicle had the valve stems cut out and the owner said we were pretty much screwed because he only had cameras set up in the office. Didn't offer us any kind of time to put together alternative transportation not even an extra hour after check out! It was Christmas Morning BTW. We were screwed and pretty much still are because we no longer have our vehicle because of it.

When I first walked in, I found there was a line of people with no one working register. After 10 minutes, this very overweight man with an AirPods in his ear comes to the counter and does not greet us, just asked for our credit card. He told us our room number which was all the way at the top, and when we walked in, a huge steam cloud smashed me and my husbands face. The room was INCREDIBLY musty, smelled like urine and pot. Even though they charge fees for smoking. Very dated, however, to my surprise, the room was in fairly decent condition. However, I do not recommend for a family with children come to this inn because the smell of pot and urine is very VERY extreme.
