Located
in
the
heart
of
the
university,
it
is
a
botanic
garden
within
the
Kwame
Nkrumah
University
of
Science
and
Technology,
Kumasi.
It
has
a
natural
area
with
grass
and
tall
trees
that
provide
shade
to
visitors
and
is
home
to
rich
oxygen
because
of
its
rich
vegetation.
The
KNUST
Botanical
Garden
is
one
of
the
beautiful,
elegant
and
attractive
gardens
in
Ghana.
It
is
found
on
the
campus
of
Kwame
Nkrumah
University
of
Science
&
Technology.
It
was
originally
built
to
aid
research
studies
for
the
botany
students,
but
has
been
developed
in
recent
times
for
other
use.
The
garden
is
noted
to
have
a
rich
floristic
composition
in
the
cultivated
and
uncultivated
sections.
It
has
184
plant
species
which
mainly
belong
to
146
genera,
51
families
and
six
growth
forms.
The
garden
is
dominated
with
Elaeis
guineensis
Jacq.,
Hevea
brasiliensis
(Willd,)
Muell.-Arg.
and
Parkia
biglobosa
(Jacq.)
G.
Don
trees.
Many
of
the
trees
have
provided
a
wonderful
canopy
in
the
garden.
Apart
from
that,
the
serenity,
coolness
and
the
environmental
calmness
of
the
place
makes
it
conducive
for
pleasure,
relaxation,
creative
thinking
and
all
kinds
of
recreational
activities.
The
KNUST
Botanical
Garden
has
served
a
great
place
for
botanical
research,
education
and
recreational
activities.
It
attracts
a
lot
of
visitors
and
students
in
campus
who
wants
to
learn
about
various
plant
species
as
well
as
have
pleasure
If
you
are

and
