You know the memes about how hard it is to cancel a membership from a gym? This place is the pinnacle of it. I tried to cancel my membership back on Jan 1st since I was moving to Montana. I went in person because I knew or at least thought I knew how hard it is to cancel a gym membership. The girl told me that it was canceled and approved of my verification of that I was moving. It was not until around March that I noticed I was getting billed every month still. I called and they told me to send information over and that it would be cancelled. The next month it was not. This endless cycle happened for months until August when I came home to see my family. I went in person and was given details that were NEVER disclosed to me that I was constantly denied approval of cancellation because my documents (electric bill) were not enough. So, I gave them both my old lease and NEW lease!!!!!!!!!! They said that that info should be enough, but in typical fashion, I was charged the next month. I went in the next month in person again and was given a DOCUMENT SAYING IT WAS CANCELLED. BUT HERE I AM AGAIN THIS MONTH PAYING. This is not about the money, but instead an incompetent group of no brain slow people that don't know how to get hard things done because it looks bad on them to their boss. As someone who has worked for gyms it is a disgrace to the industry that a place can lie, mishandle, and cheat out its members for the purpose of making an extra 10 dollars a month and not end a contract early all for their higher ups to approve of how little Timmy's waterline looks. Big whoop you ugly jabronis.

The gym is clean and the equipment is in good shape, and if all you want to do is run it’s an ok gym, their three cardio sections are mostly empty even at peak times. However if you want to lift freeweights and you have a full time job then this gym is not for you. They just don’t have nearly enough equipment or space for their volume of guests. Weeknights you’ll spend 2-3 times as much time on your workout here than you would somewhere else. It’s a shame because it’s a nice clean gym otherwise, it’s just the poster child for wasted space, as 80% of its active members pack themselves into 20% of it every day. Just don’t bother unless you only want to do cardio or you can come in the middle of the day. UPDATE: Not a great response from the owner. Their solution to not being able to effectively use the equipment you’re paying for, is to pay them even MORE money for something entirely different. Funny thing is, not once during my visits during peak hours were there group classes even running. They’re just dark and empty rooms.

I have experienced and worked in different gym environments and this is by far one of the worst establishments I have stepped foot into. Harassed, horrible gym culture and etiquette. I thought this would be a safe establishment especially with the women’s area - but turns out not. And good luck trying to cancel your membership. Sad this is I know a lot of people that have had similar experiences. There are other gyms in the area that are better options.

The gym itself is nice. The billing department/customer service is awful. Clearly this is a recurring problem as many reviews state the same. I was a member of this gym for 2.5 years, including edge strong and personal training. Even with effective communication, my billing was messed up on multiple occasions, including one month a bill of $500, and that was too bad, it's what I owed. The next month I was away for 2 weeks so cancelled my sessions, but was STILL charged. Then when moving 17 hours away, cancelled months in advanced, am still being charged membership fees. After multiple phone calls, it's not their fault (some how?) and I'm the one still being charged a gym fee from many miles away. Edge, please do a better job training your staff, and I recommend you get better cusomter service. To those reading the review, please do yourself a favor and don't join this gym.

I had a three day trial at the edge in media. The facility has lots of great aerobic and weight equipment. They keep the premises very clean and there’s lots of wipes and cleaning solutions available for you to use. I live out of town, so I did not sign up but if I lived here, it certainly would be a great option.

UPDATE SINCE I CANT WRITE MULTIPLE REVIEWS. Gym isn’t open 24 hrs Mon-Friday anymore yet you still pay the same money. No state laws or restrictions. (No one is cleaning in the middle of the night) I know this because in the 6 weeks the staff is supposed to open at 5am and where late at least 3 if not 4 times. Don’t worry the membership is still the same price. They just do what they want. Also Be very careful about watching your bank statements they will double charge you within one week of resigning up and then tell you it’s going to be at least a month to get your money back.

This place has became a joke. I joined them because they was 24 hours Monday through Thursday. After the pandemic they took away the 24 hours. Planet fitness jump right back on it and they're 24 hours Monday through Thursday. This place still charges you the same but give you less. Then to top it off the least little bit of snow we have they want to open late. They want from opening at 9:00 a.m. to now 12:00 p.m. I will not be renewing my membership with these people. Going to check out other gyms like anytime fitness or LA fitness.

Please do not get a gym membership here. They are steal your money and will not even let you get out of your contract even if you have a doctors note signed professionally from your physician. They are out to get your money and not let you cancel your contract. I would of given them a second try but their lies and horrible service has me never ever wanting to do business with this gym ever again. The general Manger Paul at the Media location was totally not professional and would not cancel my membership after I had followed the policy by giving a doctors note signed by my physician. This place is shady and please do not get mixed up with this corporation they seriously do not care about their customers, they want to just take your money and not cancel your membership even after doing everything thats required to do so.

Had a membership but canceled due to pandemic but as I tried to get back into the gym the hours are so limiting and being one of the few gyms in the immediate area it’s get packed. Not worth it based on the hours and this is one major reason people still frequent 24-hour fitness gyms. The gym has great amenities but I’d rather have consistency over that

If I could rate this gym's professionalism, customer service, and communication a ZERO, I would. This gym has policies regarding cancelations. Per policy, this gym will allow you to cancel your membership if you move a specific amount of miles away. However, after providing the gym with proper paperwork showing proof of new residence, this gym continued to steal my money. I had to contact the gym over 15x on several occasions to attempt to rectify this issue. For over two months, management was unable to rectify this issue nor issue me a refund. While speaking to staff members, they refused to direct me to the person in charge or any regional management. In addition, staff members were extremely rude and unprofessional as the staff Member Collin continued to put the phone down/mute me while expressing my concerns. If I were you, I would NEVER become a member of this gym. Utterly disgusted with the lack of professionalism and customer service at this establishment.

If you're looking for a gym on a budget, you won't find a better one than this for the price. If you're looking to pay $30-$60 a month, there may be better options.. but not many. For the cheapest package, it's about the same price as Planet Fitness and a 10x better gym, with a sauna. Place is always clean and well-staffed.. and they seem nice. To be honest though, I don't interact with them much. I put my headphones in and tune out everyone and everything.

Personal trainers and kids gym staff have been great! Poor management. Had an incident with a mother yelling at my 6yo in the kids gym. Girls in gym were great, poorly handled by management. No one got back to me to follow up. Meanwhile this mom continues to be able to use all facilities including kids gym, while my kid is too upset to go back. Cancelled all memberships. Personal trainers are awesome though, especially Ben and Hassan. Sad to leave, but the handling of the incident was so horrible that I refuse to give my business and money to this place anymore.

The gym itself is beautiful however the management of the facility and communication from staff is lacking. The staff clearly has significant discord with management and openly discusses it around the gym. My husband was subscribed to personal training sessions and asked that it be paused until he was able to recover. He communicated this months in advance. WE STILL RECEIVED a bill and then a request for medical documentation after the fact...to prove he wasnt able to go to the gym and workout after his heart operation. Beware of their specials and promotions as the fine print is incredibly misleading and management is very hesitant to refund or admit wrongdoing. Again, the gym itself is fine. the trainers are friendly and equipment is clean. but the management and organization is severely flawed. Read the fine print before you sign and get anything they say in writing!

The team here is way too focused on sales and not on service. There’s no reason to call someone 3+ times after already signing on to try to get more money out of them through personal training or whatever, it’s a nuisance. When I was on my free trial still I was leaving after a quick workout, the first day I was ever there, and the guy behind the counter had my ID in his hand and didn’t seem to want to pass it back to me before I sat through his pitch and shot down his “are you sure? We can get it done today”. I was literally there for an hour at peak times, no one even offered me a tour when I came in the first time and there seemed to be plenty of people behind the counter. Meanwhile cleaning wipes were empty at at least two stations. The facility itself is pretty nice, with a good selection of equipment and ample space for other activities. The cinema is a waste of space and gimmicky in my opinion. The app and classes are very convenient and the instructors are great.

Great value. Good facilities and equipment, not too crowded in the later evening, multiple locations. Wish the broken machines got fixed quicker, and wish it wasn't so crowded at prime time, but still a great gym overall.

Very disappointed with ABC Financial Services, AR (the billing company Edge uses). I am trying to cancel my membership and they are telling me I have more months on my membership then I actually have! I’m also very disappointed that I was not able to get out of my contract due to COVID - I am uncomfortable and I’m in the high risk category! I only had a couple months left on my contract. I feel my communication with ABC financial services was very unprofessional and know they were trying to get more money from me than I actually owed them!

Extremely poor enforcement of mask wearing. A woman was literally running on the treadmill, face mask completely off, huffing and puffing. All around the gym you see people with their noses hang out, no one is saying anything to them. Do better. A sign of correct face mask usage means nothing if no one enforces it.

Terrible customer service. They will not allow to put account on hold due to job loss. Anything Covid related requests must come from doctor stating that you have a medical condition. They have a script and will not sway-no matter what. Also there are many people only half wearing their masks-around mouths not their noses.

I signed up months ago under the pretense that they were about to adjust their hours back to pre pandemic. It's pretty clear now that it was a lie and a sales tactic. If they don't fix their hours I won't be renewing

The way I was treated at this gym was aweful. I was running all by myself no one else was around and I took off my mask for just a few mins to breathe and drink water and they told me to put my mask back on like they were stalking me ...I left and canceled my membership because that's just too much. No other gym is this psycho they should really learn to read: it is not recommended to run with a mask on especially when you are sweating and inhaling your own breath that you body is expelling Co -2 and you can be socially distanced and take the mask off and not bother anyone. Why dont they check temperature and screen people at the door instead of acting like this? Other gyms have much better policies. Clean your equipment before and after use and socially distance yourself and it should be ok. I just never want to go there again and simply want them to cancel my membership. Aweful experience. I felt disgusted by the way I was treated.

I want to say this is definitely a gym that definitely caters to the members. From the minute you step onto the property from the parking lot to the inside, it is immaculate. There is no trash anywhere and no unkempt or dishoveled lawn. The machines and equipment are always well maintained and if there is equipment that is broken it will be repaired within a couple of days. The staff treat you like family and know your name immediately . I explained that I have a service dog and how he is supposed to provide service to me in terms of emergencies. The staff went through their protocols and showed me how they would handle things if I was needing help from then on. It is honestly a blessing to have the members and staff so proactive about this as the LA Fitness in Brookhaven quickly disregarded anything I explained on what I needed. Everyone and I do mean everyone from the staff to the other members are friendly and try to make sure that everyone gets a chance to work on a machine or piece of equipment without waiting a long time. Even dury busy times, I am able to get a decent workout in without hassle. Let's not forget that for the price of your membership, you can get access to an actual working sauna, classes, massage and tanning. They also have childcare which is awesome as a busy parent. I can't find anything to complain or even say negative things about because the amenities alone really make the entire experience better. Big bonus, they have a shake bar in case you forget your shake at home and just want to get at it.

I go here every morning around 5am. The young gentleman greets everyone with such a big smile on his face and so nice and positive. Such a great start to the day. I love everything about this gym. I mainly stay in the woman’s fitness section which I love. The equipment is amazing and easy to use. I recommend this gym to a lot of my friends. Can’t get much better than this.

Everything about this gym is perfect except the sauna. After several requests, the staff refuses to turn the volume down in the men’s sauna. The speakers rattle and even with high quality earbuds turned up to max volume, you can still hear every word clear as day. It’s absolutely obnoxious to sit in here and hear ESPN bashing in your ears.

Awesome place if you’re into long lines for one set of fountains with deceptive water pressure, weaving around looking for stations not occupied by muscle heads leaning over them while discussing life and philosophy with other muscle heads, and tip-toeing around the sea of gym bags strewn along the workout floor. So many bags at this gym, I thought I was at either a school during recess or an airport baggage facility’s lost & found area - why the hell is this allowed to happen?

Read the fine print before you sign up. I moved out of the area and when I attempted to cancel my membership I was told that I am locked into a contract for a full 12 months and am not even able to change my membership level until the contract expires. I liked The Edge's facility but am not happy that I am being forced to pay for a membership that I am not using.

Havent been to this gym and I dont want too. They are soooo pushy with joining. Quit calling people constantly. I told he wackjob 2 weeks ago I'm not interested and they called me again this week. I read way to many BAD reviews and they seem very accurate since everyone complains about the same thing. I'M NOT INTERESTED! GO AWAY!!!

The Edge has really great classes. I love Karen Wood’s Sprint class on Wednesday night at 6Pm and Body Balance on Saturday at 10:30Am. I always get a great workout. She’s a great instructor & very motivational. Check her out!

The facility is very nice and clean and I enjoy the group exercise classes. However, the Body Pump classes should be 60 minutes long instead of 45-50 minutes. The instructors have to skip tracks to fit into the allotted time slot. Also, the new app is a nightmare! I am still not able to sign in for classes. The old app was a breeze to use, so why change it to make things more difficult?

Read the fine print when signing up for a membership. They refuse to let me cancel my membership even when I don’t even live in the state anymore. They harassed me and tell me that I can’t cancel my membership unless I have a medical reason, military or relocation. I moved back home in NJ and even with evidence they still refuse to cancel my membership.

  • 5/5 Kariah G. 1 year ago on Google
Edit: Thank you for listening! I have noticed a difference in the last several times I have been to Edge in Media. I can still hear the max volume music on the loudspeakers over my own Beats headphones. There's no way the volume is safe for anybody's ears. Other than that Edge has high quality facilities. I would gladly give a five star review if the volume if the music in all your facilities was addressed.

  • 5/5 Steve G. 1 year ago on Google
It's pretty good. Very modern. A bit younger crowd. Great kids club. 4 squat cages. It does not have machines for your back. Most other gems do. I know you can do it with pulleys but I can't put weight on my shoulders so that's a problem. Nice staff too

  • 3/5 Isaac L. 1 year ago on Google
It's an ok gym. It smells but for the price you pay is what you get. they don't have any wipes, so recommend you to bring a small towel or wear long sleeves. they have a decent squat rack but they lack a lot of iso machines especially for back. so if you want to iso, just use dumbbells. some running machines screen lags so you have to guess how long you ran after a minute or so. overall, it's an ok gym for the price you pay. they charge you extra fifty after three months for "enhancement" fees and it seems like they just charge your just for the heck of it. it's better than planet fitness though

  • 1/5 Slizzy S. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely horrible service! I signed up for a membership with Edge fitness, I then had a family emergency in another state where they have no facility. I travel for business a LOT and, as much as o love the Edge gyms, this one is the absolute best. The staff is always helpful and friendly, the gym is always clean and there is rarely any equipment that isn’t working. I definitely consider this my home gym, and I often use the customer service here as a reference for example, for my own staff.

Edge Fitness's cancellation policy is that you must contact their sub contracted billing department and send them a doctor's note if you are unable, due to a medical condition, to exercise for the next 6 months. After doing this, and realizing that their department is experiencing a severe language barrier issue, I attempted to reach out to Edge customer service directly. No response. There really isn't any excuse to give anyone a hard time with everything going on, but don't expect help from them if you ever run into an issue that leaves you unable to utilize their facilities. edit 1/7: Why don't you reach out to me? I made it clear that I've attempted several times to contact you with no response. What would make me think sending an email to that address would accomplish anything? Please contact me

Was hoping to get in a workout with my boyfriend and was immediately told I was not allowed to bring a guest. Great facility, but the price is too low. Haven't been able to do the same workout twice in a row for weeks because it's always so busy, and parking's a joke. The PF model isn't ideal when you have a gym that people really want to come and enjoy!

Every month there is no hot water for 3-5 days.they have replaced the tank but it looks like still there is the same problem. Whenever you ask the staff or the GM related to this they act like no one cares and they look like they are bothered. Great gym to workout in, when it’s open. They cut hours doing COVID but have yet to expand the hours a year later. They still bill you the same amount too. If they don’t return to normal hours, I’ll probably be switching gyms.

Hello, I love this gym.. You can find me some where dancing having a ball with some work out partners or by my self. This gym is for people who actually work out. They have a whole area for women who want to work out in privacy. Being a lifetime gym guy I like that for women who arent as confident and want the privacy. I been to many gyms through the years this is one of my favorite my other is in Orlando, Florida LA Fitness off Kirkman Road. Edge does not have a basketball court and the gym is packed at times is my only Cons.

Seems like a great gym for the diverse machines, different and plentiful cardio machines and different rooms for people to utilized. I was checking it out to join, but the time I have available to work out is during high traffic times for a fitness facility. I was noticing a few in line to do dead lifts and use of the free weight benches. Read your contracts and listen carefully. They require a year or two year contract, as well as a maintenance fee each year for the gym. Which is normal. Ultimately my search continues. Crowds I do not handle well and it seemed the folks did not want to tag out for sets.

since signing up 2 months ago. I've been charged 2 different times for random fees that were never expressed at time of sign up. every time i call, i get told that's in the contract, something I was never given a for review. another scammy gym i guess reply: my issue is I was never given any paperwork to review. which i mentioned above. it was never mentioned at all. why would i seriously delay a $15 "processing" fee 6 weeks from signup. it's not the money but the principle of it. same with the yearly membership fee. just be upfront and honest with people when signing them up.

I love Amy’s BodyPump and BodyFlow class Monday mornings. She brings such good energy and motivation. Perfect way to start my week. Masks are required. Class size is small with plenty of room, airflow, and cleaning wipes.

I was actually shocked at how nice this place is. Very well equipped for everyone kind of workout preference. Everyone was wearing their masks. And the place was immaculate.

Why must it be so crowded all the time? So frustrating. If you don’t like waiting for equipment at all hours of the day, this isn’t the gym for you. Also, at certain times of day, the weight area is taken over by bodybuilders. Lots of gym intimidation here... really sad

Overall great facility BUT the music is so loud I can hear it through my headphones. Not sure why the speakers have to be so loud if most people are listening to their own...

I LOVE coming to The Edge Fitness Clubs! Its always clean, the environment is always welcoming, and everyone is always very professional and quick to assist with any questions! Shawn Webb at the Edge Cafe always hooks up the best shakes, and even though he's new to the team, he's very knowledgeable about the products! Thank you guys for making my gym experience amazing each time I come in!

👍👍 Nothing bad that I can say about this place, I absolutely love it. I wish that the daycare center did stay open a little later than 12 p.m. for those late-afternoon early-evening workout junkies that need childcare while they get a workout in. That is absolutely lovely here, the family swim area rem...

😐 I deleted my last review bec I think I might have been too harsh. This is a great gym. The only problem I have is the amount of women that leave their plates on the machine. Just because it’s lighter weight doesn’t mean it’s ok to walk away without cleaning up. Practice gym etiquette. I had another...

👍👍 The atmosphere and style of the classes make you want to push yourself as hard as you can. Going to any other gym will never give you the same level workout as going to orange theory. The coaches are motivational, but they are that way because they truly want you to be your best self, not only becau...
