With Banff being limited to a “nightclub feel” we ended up at Sasquatch. My previous times have always been great. However the “DJ” if you can call him- left me speechless. I was feeling great and went to ask him to play a song ( WHICH I WOULD TIP HIM FOR ). He rudely pointed to the computer for the request. In which I wrote my request. After I wanted to send a thank you for playing my request and he shut the computer completely off. When he played my song he literally played it for 30 seconds. Afterwards I left to go grab cash from my wallet, I grabbed the wrong bill after I handed it to him. I realized when he ripped the $20 out of my hand he turned so quickly that I tried to grab his attention to exchange for the not even deserved $5. He ignored my request and reacted to me like I attacked him. I was completely in shock of his lack of any appreciation. His ability to take a $20 for 30 second song & his complete and utter rudeness. He shouldn’t be working for your establishment.

Overall, not a nice club. Bad DJ who doesn’t play requests or banger songs. Of course no one starts dancing because of bad music. They’re only dancing because of alcohol.

My first bar i visited in canada, it was so cool and awesome, service was amazing, staff are very attentive specially the bar tender. Dj play the bit very well. One thing i’de noticed they dont have extreme mix drinks.

I honestly do not understand the DJ, just as you’re getting to know what the song is, you have no time to actually dance to the music before he switches it to something else... They have so many bars in town..instead of waiting outside for nothing just go somewhere else... Only people from Calgary who doesn't know better are going there. Im not gonna even talk about the Doorman. Change the DJ please, or teach him how to properly switch songs.

Very "Mid" place. Little ambiance and lousy DJ that only plays overplayed songs with no diversity. Could be because the establishment doesn't pay him enough to care, or they choose what he can play? Hopefully they upgrade the place, or yet a better competitor opens up... considering Banff is a tourist attraction and people want to have a fun time.

Fun dance club in Banff. Get there early to avoid line ups! Younger crowd and bar is tight when it gets busy. We paid $10 cover just to get in. Fun night for my brothers stag.

Decent music with elite vibes, stay away from ordering a "time machine" if you want to keep you dignity or have any responsibilities the following day. I would write more if I didn't get blackout drunk but my friends said I had fun..... ill be back one day

The night was ruined when the Saturday night DJ asked for "all my money" for a song request on the request computer. He somehow ruined Rihanna which is tough to do. If you want a downgraded midway with 2x the cost of drinks then come to the dancing sasquatch.

The DJ was very rude actually and doesn't take any requests and cuts you off typing and then changes a song every minute which I think is a bit ridiculous and the coat check girlie must feel pretty entitled in her position too but the bar staff were good.

I think this place is solid and has a lot of potential. I got a table for a big group for my birthday. What I didn't like were their deceiving sales tactics. They tried to push me into buying to $2k bottle of vodka instead of the $300 one. And then they added extra items to my tab without asking me (or anyone) so I would hit the minimum spend. We would have ordered more to hit the minimum. I had a good time, but looking back, it was actually pretty shady.

A fun nightclub for sure. Just be careful that they swipe your drinks when you are away from them, even after you've stopped them from doing that three times in a night. When you complain about them doing that, you'll likely get kicked out for zero good reason.

Worst New Year's Eve party I've ever seen. They geared the entire club towards serving VIPs, which of course there weren't many takers as $3k for bottle service. Lousy DJ, overpriced admission, and they never served the champagne toast that was advertised. Overall a complete disappointment.

DJ was rude and wasn’t willing to take song requests without them being playing for maybe 30 seconds. Bouncer also kicked out my buddy for no reason and was eyeing our group down the whole time waiting for us to do something. It was a nice place and the bartenders were great but the DJ and bouncers really ruined the whole experience.

The club would be great IF they played decent music. We liked the atmosphere but the dj tonight was/is horrible. He was playing some sort of odd techno music with an accordion in it. We stayed for half an hour waiting to see if the music would improve but it didn’t. The group of people who arrived after us nope’d out right away. When we arrived we were the first in and no one was there after us.

Had a lot of fun dancing, slightly obsessed with the time machine drinks now 🤤... Only missing a star because my shoes kept coming off of my feet (causing me to lose my balance) with the amount of stick on the floor 🤣

A group of us went to the Sasquatch to dance after dinner on the weekend. There was a little bit of an incident involving another guest. The door person Megan was right on top of it. She handled it with a high level of professionalism, as did the rest of the team.

I initially didn’t want to go into the Dancing Sasquatch as I’m a bit past my “club” days and much prefer a more chill bar/patio situation. But it was the last night of my bachelorette party and the group wanted something more high energy so we swung by after dinner around 10:30 PM and honestly - I was pleasantly surprised! Granted, I already had incredibly low expectations due to the existing poor reviews but the ambience was pretty great and the place itself was much more clean and modern than I thought it would be. Yes, there are plenty of young 18-20 year olds but I was fully prepared for that considering the drinking age in Alberta is 18. Honestly, I was more aware of the many other bachelorette and bachelor parties going on. Our group got there right as it was starting to get full so we had plenty of space on the dance floor and had no issues dancing around each other. Now on to the important parts - drinks and DJ. Some drinks were a bit watered down for sure but, compared to where I’m from (Chicago), they were much cheaper than what I would have to pay in a similar spot so I don’t know if I’d personally call them overpriced. With that said, I did end up going back to the bar more frequently to get a refill until we started getting more “pre-made” drinks like White Claws and canned drinks since it’s kinda hard to water those down. Other than that, the service as pretty quick and friendly enough. As for the DJ - I have incredibly mixed feelings. Overall, the song selections were great. Plenty of variety to appeal to the masses. But where they struggled was with transitions. It was very weird to hear an absolute banger of rock song - Fat Bottomed Girls - get cut off half way and transitioned to Started from the Bottom. I get the intention but the execution fell flat. This happened many more times throughout the night. Luckily, our group was smashed enough not to care. Once it started getting pretty late, the music turned a bit more EDM-y and that was our cue to leave.

Bouncers are all on a power trip. If you even ask them why you paid $20 to wait in line when you were told you could get in right away, they will kick you out. No communication between them and high rollers when they’re both the same company. The bouncers will hurl abuse at you but if you say anything to defend yourself they will turn you away, they all think they are high above everyone else just because they stand in front of a door all night. STAY AWAY.

I went to sasquatch and paid for a coatcheck, i left an hour after to find a friend, came back after 30 minutes and i went to go back just go get my jacket back (not to party back inside) and it was -20c. The bouncers rudely told me to go back in line & i asked them again if i can get just please get my jacket and they refused. I was getting super cold and people in the line helped me be warm. They saw how rude the bouncers were. They were being so sensitive and accused me for being rude. I was helpless in the cold. I paid for a coatcheck. I have a right to get my belongings back. He told me I wouldn’t be cold if I didn’t dress like a sl*t. Thanks sasquatch! Best bouncers ever!!!

This place is a joke from the bouncers to the service. Bouncer told us it was a saturday night so long wait to get in. We waited outside and when we finally got in the place was a ghost town with an awkward setup. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Worst experience ever. Would give 0 stars if possible. Ordered 4 drinks at the bar to which the 20 year old bartender thought to mean 40 drinks which we refused to pay. Bartender then instructed that we be kicked out of the bar for ‘not understanding what we ordered’ then collecting our coats from coat check the bouncer made extremely rude comments to which I told him to shut up which causing him to get offended and remove myself and friends from the bar with extreme force saying we should ‘cry to the police’ we spoke with the rcmp and Have pressed charges on the bouncers and bar. Most unprofessionally run establishment that I have ever had the displeasure of patronizing in my entire life. Please avoid this place at all costs.

  • 1/5 Homer B. 4 years ago on Google
The bouncers at the door lack respect. They have obvious ego issues and are quick to overreact to everything. I saw this with other customers for no good reason, and then surprisingly it happened to me too. Nobody was looking for trouble but these bouncers seem to enjoy the thrill of pushing around patrons. Seemed like the bouncers were jealous of the patrons who were out having a good time. Whoever owns the place should termanite the current bouncers and replace them with guys that have self discipline and people skills. Also for liability reasons, some of what I saw the door guys do could end up instigating violence with customers. Professional Door staff, security, police, all know that de-escalating/defusing a situation is always the goal of an interaction. These bouncers are eager to escalate things so they can flex their “authority”. I’m sad to say that in bigger cities I’ve seen behavior like this lead to very violent attacks against bouncers, I would hate to see something like that happen here, but the bouncers are just low skilled and unrefined kids with egos..... they need to replace them with professionals. I know it’s the only disco style nightclub in Banff, but really, you’re just going to end up disappointed with the behavior of staff so you’re better not going. Read the other comments, unsatisified customers is consistent at this 2nd rate disco club. There are plenty of other fun places in Banff to drink.

Worst place to go..... securities was unfair and unfriendly.... I dont recommend this place to go too. Staff there they cant listen what situation happened. They will straight up kick you out if you involved in something which you did not do nothing. This club's securities are sooo unfair. I probably can tell this is worst club in the whole world..

Save your money and go next door to Tommy's pub. The staff here is awful and good luck getting in without waiting at lease 30-60 minutes. Door guy takes cash from people to let them in because they don't want to wait but guess what you have to pay cover as well! Not worth it at all.

  • 2/5 Nick 4 years ago on Google
Expensive place on weekends. Cover is not a set price, goes up as high as 15$ depending on what time you show up. Drinks are around 8-10$(bottled beers & mixed drinks). They don’t have anything on tap. Found the front desk girl pretty rude, when I inquired about the cover she told me she can charge me more if I’d like. Bouncers were nice on the other hand. We ended up leaving after 20min and went to another bar.

Don’t bother going here even if it’s the only nightclub in town, the service was horrible, we spent a lot of money on bottle service and the waitress was very slow at coming to pour us drinks, They also sold us a bottle at around 1:30 and never told us that at 2:00 we couldn’t drink anymore and basically scammed us out of a bottle. Very disappointed

We were down for a night of drinking, a crowded bar and dancing. Sasquatch was RATCHET. The men were sleazy and touchy, the girls were wasted, and everyone was pushy and way past their peak at 10 pm. Dont get me wrong, we were out for a good time that might get a little wild - but sasquatch was gross. Vomitting in the bathroom, spilling drinks..gross. All around a gross vibe, we left within an hour. I understand the bad reviews perfectly.

  • 1/5 Duncan M. 5 years ago on Google
First and last time I'll be going here. First impressions; Security who were arrogant and rude. The cover price is overpriced and the girl behind the counter very unwelcoming towards me and my wife. We went to the bar on 3 seperate occasions and were charged 3 different prices for the same of basic drink. Made a complaint to management who tried to justify the price differences by saying that we must have asked for different types of spirit in the drink, (This was not the case). I've had many different experiences of bars and clubs around the world and this is somewhere to definitely avoid. If you want a fun, friendly good music place then go to the Rose and Crown.

Terrible customer experience. The short haired barman in the western bar keep an empty jar as a tip jar. I ordered a glass, paid and gave him a good tip. I pressed the lime and put it in the jar by error. I never saw this kind of tip jar on a bar in more than 10 years of nightlife. The guy kicked my glass on innocent beautiful girls and called his meatheads to kick me off the bar. I tried to explain myself but probably my english was not enough fluent... they threw me outside in a -25C night without my jacket.

I was asking if I was requesting a song right (due to their intense stipulations.) The DJ told me no and I kept asking for help and he blew me off. So I asked the bar tender what was up. She said, the guy had a complex and that all DJs do. Suddenly I was escorted out by 3 men for being rude. . I'm not sure who I was so rude to that I got kicked out. I never even got to request the song. The DJ then messages me back on Facebook (part of the process to request songs) and asked what I wanted and I told him I got kicked out for being rude. He said sorry... I'm not even 5 feet tall and was kicked out by 3 big guys with absolutely no explanation of who I was rude to or what cause me to be kicked out. This was unacceptable for someone just trying to request a song for a bride on her bachelorette. Thanks Dancing Sasquatch

Currently at the dancing Sasquatch right now(Sat July 8), it’s so lame I’m posting this while at the club. “DJ K 1” or whatever is interrupting every song to stop the music, make a comment, put in some musical effect, or whatever. Just as you’re getting to know what the song is, you have no time to actually dance to the music before he switches it to something else. That being said, I think the DJ has potential if he stops doing the above and actually let people dance. It’s getting annoying, we are leaving.

  • 2/5 Emily G. 5 years ago on Google
Regardless of extremely overpaying for my drink, I was having a good time at this club. However, that quickly changed after an unfortunate experience with an employee. After watching multiple patrons put their empty drinks down at a table with nothing said to them, I followed suit with my cup. An employee then physically grabbed my arm and told me “there’s a rope here for a reason and it’s not for you to put your trash here”. If the employee had an issue they could have approached the situation much differently and politely told me where to put my empty glass next time. It is NOT okay to grab me. It ruined my time and I immediately left and will not return.

Cool club in Atlantis. Expensive, but definitely one of the few places on the island that offers this kind of vibe. Definitely don't go here if you're looking for a place to have a conversation, sit down, etc. Know what you're getting into. Random and confusing decision - entered and exited by a crazy set of stairs...if you aren't sober on your way out, be careful or ask for the elevator.

This nightclub is definitely high end and expensive. Cover charge is expensive, drinks are expensive (around $15ish)... but it is a nice night club. The time we were there, they have a famous DJ playing.. DJ Jazzy from Prince of Bel Air so prices are higher than normal. Ladies covercharge was $40 and the men are $60. We didn't stay in Atlantis, i heard it is cheaper covercharge if you are a hotel guest. The music was great when we were there. They have great female club dancers perfect for men or women who just want to look at other people dancing. ☺ Decent size dance floor. Someone was throwing away money when we were there, i was quick at getting them off the floor so i came home with $52 worth of $1 bills. 🤣 Crowd is great mix of people.

So many fun nights down at the Dancing Sasquatch ... definitely Banff's best club!

This club is so much fun. A tad bit loud for me personally but I understand why. Definitely thee place to be in banff for a night out of dancing wven if it is very crowed.

Drinks are really expensive. The music is good, they play a wide range of genres to keep everyone happy. If you go a bit on the earlier side of the night you'll pay a lower cover fee, a cover at all sucks but it's not as bad as other clubs.

Crowded, they grease you $20 to get in. All 18 year olds lol.

Its cool enough. I was sharing a vape with a guy waiting in line, discussing Covid in late march 2020. Kind of a weird memory considering we didn’t get to go here again for like two years.

Went to the Sasquatch while I was on a University skiing trip. The atmosphere was great and weekday prices were amazing. I unfortunately lost some items at the club due to my own though and the manager of the Sasquatch helped ship the items back to my city once I was back home. Highly recommend this place for a university party atmosphere.

We got bottle service there last night for a friend’s birthday and we had a great time! The bouncers were respectful, staff were very friendly and DJ was amazing.

The staff was cool (even the bouncers were nice and that NEVER HAPPENS at bars!) , however drinks were over priced, the crowd was weird. This bar is like for 19 year olds only. If you’re over 20, it’s going to give you the Ick.

Nice little bar and the time travellers are an amazing drink! Setup isn’t great and the DJ was straight up drowning. Some of the worst music I’ve heard in a while.

Great music, atmosphere and crowd. Staff let's you have fun. Know what you're getting into and embrace the experience. Night to remember.

Abysmal music. They're still playing pop hits from 2010.... Those weren't good in 2010, and they're absolutely un-dancable now.

Went for the Wednesday glow party and it was awesome. Great kind friendly staff, great price drinks and amazing music. The DJs were killing it .
