My
wife,
6
yo
daughter,
my
sister-in-law,
and
myself
stopped
at
KFC
at
Koforidua
for
lunch
on
our
way
to
driving
out
to
Boti
Falls.
Now
in
every
one
of
the
six
separate
trips
I've
taken
to
Ghana
in
the
last
16
years,
I've
had
at
least
one
interesting/memorable
customer
experience
example
that
leaves
me
scratching
my
head
as
a
customer,
and
KFC
at
Koforidua
gave
us
that
moment
on
this
trip.
I'll
start
by
saying
that
the
food,
once
received,
was
good,
however,
what
led
us
to
our
experience
started
with
a
normal
order
for
the
four
of
us.
We
were
told
at
the
counter
that
there
were
no
Chicken
Pops
available,
so
I
changed
to
a
Zinger
Burger,
while
my
daughter
had
Chicken
Tenders.
The
order
was
placed,
and
we
were
given
our
order
number.
I
went
to
the
washroom
(which
was
very
clean
&
well
maintained),
and
our
order
wasn't
ready
when
I
came
out.
As
it
was
not
a
small
order,
no
problem.
The
issue
was
that
about
25
minutes
later,
our
order
still
wasn't
ready,
while
several
people
who
had
ordered
after
us
had
received
their
orders.
My
wife
decided
it
was
time
to
query
what
was
happening,
as
we
thought
they
may
have
forgotten
us.
She
was
advised
that
at
the
time
we
placed
the
order,
several
items
required
to
complete
the
order
were
on
the
KFC
truck
which
was
imminently
due
to
arrive
at
the
time.
At
the
time
my
wife
queried
it,
the
truck
had
arrived,
and
the
staff
were
unloading
it,
after
which,
they
would
be
able
to
complete
our
order.
Astonished
at
learning
of
this
development
now,
my
wife
chewed
out
the
staff
for
taking
an
order
they
couldn't
prepare
at
the
time
they
took
it
without
informing
us
of
the
issue.
Shortly
thereafter,
the
order
did
come
out,
but
we
went
from
what
we
thought
would
be
a
20
minute
stop
to
around
45-50
minutes,
and
we
were
running
out
of
time
to
get
to
Boti
Falls
(in
the
end
we
made
it
late
in
the
day,
but
it
did
mean
driving
the
dangerous
Koforidua-Mamfe
stretch
of
the
road
back
to
Accra
later
than
we
had
anticipated).
I'm
unsure
if
the
Chicken
Pops
were
aboard
the
truck
when
it
arrived,
and
whether
that
part
of
the
order
could
have
been
fulfilled
with
the
truck
having
arrived,
and
now
we
can
kind
of
laugh
off
the
experience,
but
at
the
time
it
was
a
little
frustrating.
We
visited
the
KFC
outlets
at
Cape
Coast,
and
also
Haatso,
Accra
Mall,
and
Osu
in
Accra
as
well,
and
encountered
no
similar
issues,
so
clearly
it
was
a
one-off
occurrence,
and
I
excuse
the
Koforidua
outlet
for
the
fact
that
they
are
regional,
and
would
be
often
subject
to
not
being
able
to
fulfill
orders
as
various
items
run
out
of
stock.
What
I
would
say
is
that
as
a
customer
service
lesson,
this
needs
to
be
conveyed
at
the
point
the
order
is
being
taken,
not
when
we
question
why
the
order
is
being
delayed.
I'm
sure
that
most
customers
will
go
to
KFC
Koforidua
and
experience
no
issues,
but
perhaps
be
wary
of
whether
they
can
fulfill
the
order
immediately
at
the
point
the
order
is
made
based
on
the
above.
I'm
also
sure
next
time
we
will
not
encounter
such
issues.
