This museum is not too big but you will be able to see some historical things here. Camera is not allowed inside this museum. Reasonable ticket fee.

Had really amazing time with my family here when we were on a trip to Patna and around. This is place is very calm and cool! I love this place! Vaishali was one of the oldest and largest cities of ancient India. This place is to preserve and display the antiquities found during exploration and excavation of sites associated with ancient Vaishali. Worth visiting!

At a distance of 500 m from Vishwa Shanti Stupa, and 3 km from Basarh Bus Station, Vaishali Museum is an archaeological museum situated on the banks of Coronation Tank in Vaishali, Bihar. It is one of the popular museums in Bihar, and among the interesting places to visit in Vaishali for history lovers. Vaishali Museum was established in the year 1971 by the Archaeological Survey of India to persevere and display the antiquities discovered at the various sites in Vaishali. The basis of this museum was a small collection of antiquities by a local villager in pre Independence days and was subsequently taken over by a local museum controlled by VishaliSangh. With the establishment of the present museum by the Archaeological Survey of India, all the antiquities were donated to it by the VaishaliSangh. Now, the museum has over 2000 antiques showcasing the medieval cultures and the reign of Mauryas, Guptas, Kushans, and Sanga. The museum consists of four galleries around a central courtyard. The first gallery has a vast collection of exhibits like the human figurines, terracotta toys, Bodhisattva, Goddess Durga, and others. Besides these, stone Chhatravali, molded bricks, and brick tiles are also present here. The second gallery displays the monolithic seal that was used by the officials. It also shows the terracotta toys like the ram, bull, elephant, horse, dog, monkey, etc. The third gallery of this museum houses the ancient coins belong to the different eras and have different shapes and sizes while the fourth gallery house diverse items that include the jewelry, semi-precious gemstones, unused ammo, iron weaponry, etc.

Vaishali Museum displays antiques found during the excavation of ancient Vaishali. Established by the Archaeological Survey of India in the 1971. the museum showcases prized possessions of a Buddha sculpture belonging to Pala period in which he is adorned with a beautiful crown, splendid necklaces and other ornaments. There is a remarkable headless sculpture of Buddha in Bhumisparsha mudra. Amongst the exhibits is an extraordinary collection of antiques by a local villager, which belongs to the pre-independence era. These were donated to the museum. Sculptures of Vishnu and Uma Shankar are present in the museum and there are figures of human beings and animals like monkeys, snakes, horse, bulls, etc. The museum has over 2000 antiques showcasing the medieval cultures and the reign of Mauryas, Guptas, Kushans and Sanga.

Archaeological Museum of Vaishali is a famous travel attraction in Bihar. This historic museum is an amazing place to gather the knowledge of the earliest human inhabitation, the reign of regional dynasties, culture-tradition, Buddha and his teachings, and other things about Vaishali. Many tourists, including the foreign nationals, visit this museum to gain an insight about Vaishali.

I am from Bihar itself.Nice to be here, got a chance to know about our past. It was all just slow blowing. It is unbelievable that people used to do such fine workmanship even in the olden times. The only sad thing is that some envious people broke the lovely idols. If you have come to Bihar then you must visit Vaishali. The past of Bihar has been very good but nothing is known about its future.I am sure that Bihar will continue to make progress in the future. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

The maintenance of the museum is very bad. The staff and guards are rude, The museum office is closed(officers are not present in their working hours)and the museum shop staff are rude and they are saying the ASI print is not for sale. The artefacts have no proper labelling, they are not even mentioned access. no to the artefacts (except few). They don't have proper lighting and labelling. The artefacts are not proper maintenance few are in very worse condition. The visitors touch the artefacts. Overall I had a bad experience.

The Vishwa Shanti Stupa or World Peace Pagoda was built by the collaboration of the Indian & Japanese Government in 1969. The peace Pagoda spread in ten acres was constructed under the wish of Fujii Guruji, a Japanese Buddhist.

All the ancient things of that period is kept here but I think you won't really like this as I don't like it. Seriously it has nothing to be seen which feels like I went to a museum. I suggest you to don't waste time and the interence fee of 20 rupee at this time.

In vaishali museum the antic piece is not very unique only the broken part of some object and very unique you are not going to enjoy to very likely 👎 Ticket price is low so if you want to see antic piece you can visit it but I can recommend you to visit Patna museum instead of vaishali museum you can learn more things in Patna museum.

Many artefacts of 6th century BCE and also of some later period are preserved here. Most attractive parts are the collection of terracotta items and coins. Apart from that we also find the idols of Lord Budha a nd Vishnu here. You have to pay an entry fee of Rs. 10 every visitor above the age of 15 years.

A great historic place with lots of historic and ancient coins made of various materials. There were miniature toys, sculptures broken idols and fossils of various creatures found during the excavation. A great historic and antique item collection. I believe the surrounding should be developed by the Government.
