Awesome architecture.....not that much rush. But people were not aware of this place that much. Actually need to visit this place and learn the history. This stone chariot is famous among the other 3 chariots in india. Internationally recognised as world heritage site even by UNESCO.

Most of the architecture was in damage condition. Till it will prove the richest dynasty of Vijayanagara empire. Stone Chariot we used to see in 50 rupees. But in real it is really fantastic.

A very huge historical background and the ancient civil works appear here. Really we went to another world if we were visiting these places. we have good technology right now but this construction can't make it sure. That stone work is really great and mrvoless. Some constructions are damaged and are in the final stage. The good thing is the government protects some constructions carefully. But many constructions are going almost the final stage.

One of the best stone work in India. This shows the ancient "shilpakala" of India. Hampi tour will not complete without visiting this place. This is located inside Vijaya Vittala temple. There is a ticket for visiting this historical place. (40 for cash, ₹35 if you pays on online mode).

A symbol that deeply defines the extravaganza of our glorious past and basic destructive nature of us being the human animals(for the reason this beautiful monument was destroyed)!!! Makes you wonder how life would have been during the hay days of this place A lot of history and a lot of awe jaw dropping stone sculptures, totally made me rediscover the details of our majestic history !!! I am in love with this place and this chariot of glory!!

The 3rd stone chariot in India and it has rotating wheels and it's nice place to visit once. Need to go by battery vehicle 🚜. Up and down 20/-. Lot many things in the walls of the the temple and lot things to understand from it. Google it or take help from local authorised guides.

I would recommend taking a guide while you visit this historic place. The temple complex is around one km from the parking lot and battery-operated vehicles are running from both sides. There are many myths and misinformation spread about this place, try to get the correct information. the Tungabhadra river is in the vicinity. This complex houses many interesting architectural wonders and one of them is sound pillars.

Such a beautiful place. Unless you know your history, I would suggest you to hire a real guide to know the history of this wonder. Pillars where you can hear sapta swaras (not accessible anymore), interlocked stone chariot, various mythological creatures, beautiful stone carvings - they all tell you a story of a forgotten empire of Vijayanagara, that ruled for over 200 years. It's a piece of art and reminds us of the skilled workforce we had at that time. This is a MUST visit place for anyone and everyone!

The Stone Chariot in Hampi is a mesmerizing historical marvel, captivating visitors with its intricate carvings and rich cultural significance. Priced at Rs 35, the ticket provides access to this iconic monument, offering a glimpse into the architectural brilliance of the Vijayanagara Empire.Additionally, the convenience of an electric vehicle, with a fare of Rs 20 from the entrance to the main spot, enhances the overall experience. The reasonable pricing ensures accessibility for all, making it a worthwhile visit for history enthusiasts and casual tourists alike.

We did an arranged tour of Hampi with a group of around 13 from Goa. It was such an amazing experience from start to finish. The history and feel you get are out of this world, it's really breathtaking. It's definitely something I'd highly recommend.

Brilliant piece of carvings on the monolithic stone chariot, a must visit in Hampi. If you can walk here it is wonderful or you have an option of taking ebuggy too for which you have to wait in line and while coming back from the place you need to stand again in the queue. The walking distance is not more and can easily enjoy the walk till the chariot, keep yourself hydrated by grabbing some water bottles as there is no water available near the place though you will find it near the parking.

I visited this place during weekend. Since it is a weekend there is huge queue to get the buggy ride from parking place to the temple. So, to skip the queue we had to walk 1 km. Do not miss the river view next to the temple. Tiffins on the river bank are a good try. Guides at this place: You can hire a guide if you have no idea about history of this place. More money you pay, more info you get. 😄

A must visit place to witness rich cultural and historical heritage from the past. Apart from that, it's a UNESCO Heritage site. The stone chariot is located in vithala temple and along with this marvelous architecture, you will be mesmerized with the artistic carvings across the entire temple. You have to take bass to enter the temple which costs around 25 rupees per person. You can use the QR code at the entrance to book an online ticket and have a cashless entry.

The place is very good as it represents the old kingdom. But the government should focus on developing and implementing free transportation to stone chariot from the main road and any stalls or etc for the benefit of the passengers.

Beautiful temples and sculptures built by Vijayanagara Empire. Many monuments are falling apart because of no proper maintenance. Once richest city of ancient world is in ruins now unfortunately.

Who wouldn't want to visit this place. The famous stone chariot along with other structural monuments. This place is a beauty in itself. Surrounded by stone mountains, this place is where the history and architecture meet together.

Stone chariot is the reason we decided to go Hampi as it's on our Rs 50 currency and also a heritage site. This place has an e- vehicle transport facility from the gate to the chariot and vice versa. They charge 20rs per person for both sides. This took ample time for us while waiting for the vehicle to pick and drop. The ruins and architecture here have no words to express. A washroom facility is available too. We were not charged for the entry tickets as it was WORLD HERITAGE WEEK when we visited during November

You may need to wait 15-30 min, sometimes more depending on rush for electric vehicle to pick upa dn drop (takes 10rs/person). One can walk if they choose to. Historical place with beautifully carved monuments and temples. Couldn't enter Vittala temple inside as there is some work in progress. Heard about the musical pillars but didn't get a chance to experience. Stone charriot is beatiful but some parts of it are ruined. Overall nice experience.

The ruins are good to watch. One time experience is great but place your day accordingly as lots of walking and daytime are super hot. With kids it becomes challenging in summers. If you love history go for it

The Stone Chariot in Hampi is not just a monument; it's a masterpiece etched in stone that stands testament to the architectural brilliance of the Vijayanagara Empire. Visiting this iconic site was a journey through time, and it left an indelible mark on my Hampi experience. The Stone Chariot, situated within the Vittala Temple complex, is a stunning representation of Vijayanagara artistry. The intricately carved stone wheels, horses, and the detailed chariot structure are a marvel to behold. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are awe-inspiring, showcasing the engineering prowess of the bygone era. As you stand before the Stone Chariot, you can feel the echoes of history. The chariot is believed to be a symbolic representation of the divine vehicle of Lord Vishnu. It's not merely a static structure; it's a living piece of heritage that carries the cultural richness of Hampi. The Stone Chariot is a photographer's delight. The play of sunlight on the intricately carved stone and the contrast against the vivid blue sky provide a picture-perfect backdrop. It's an ideal spot to capture the essence of Hampi and create lasting memories. The accessibility and maintenance of the site are commendable. The pathways are well-marked, and information boards provide insights into the historical significance of the Stone Chariot. The surrounding gardens add to the overall charm, making it a pleasant and immersive experience. Surrounded by other significant structures within the Vittala Temple complex, the Stone Chariot exudes a spiritual ambiance. Visitors can feel the sanctity of the site and appreciate the intricate carvings that narrate stories from Hindu mythology. Despite its popularity, the Stone Chariot is well-managed in terms of crowds. The vast open space around the monument allows visitors to explore and appreciate the site without feeling rushed. It's a place where you can soak in the historical aura at your own pace. The Stone Chariot in Hampi is not just a historical relic; it's a living testament to the architectural and artistic brilliance of the Vijayanagara Empire. Whether you are a history enthusiast, a culture buff, or simply a traveler seeking unique experiences, the Stone Chariot is a must-visit wonder that will leave you in awe. It's a jewel in Hampi's crown, and I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary.

One of the best place to visit in Hampi.. The architecture of the ruins are a treat to watch.. The stone chariot is the one u get to see in 50Rs note Take the electric cart ride from parking as it's almost 500m away parking.

  • 5/5 Rajesh A. 4 months ago on Google
This is a masterpiece! The techniques used to carve this chariot hundreds of years ago, just imagine, wow 😲! These historical places have to be preserved for the next generations! Unfortunately, the faltu Muslim rulers and sultanates destroyed these beautiful places! Damn! Must see place.

It is really nice place to see our heritage & to learn about our history, a guide can help you with that. Some part of the temple is under construction. It is around 1 km from the gate, you can walk or you can go via electric car with a fee of 10 RS per person. You will need to wait 10-15 min for your turn.

This is one place I always wanted to visit and the day had arrived. This place has some wonders. The architecture, the stone work and craftsmanship of those days definitely thrilled me. Except that many of the structures are dilapidated and ASI needs to do some serious upkeep.

Nice place to visit with family and friends. Good time to visit in between October to Feburary. You have to collect a pass to get inside by toy van. If you want you can go by walk also. Public toilet is available. Outside you will get sugarcane juice and junk stuff. No resturant available. You ll get to see monuments and Stone work.
