Showed up over an hour late. We could have driven to Jerusalem and done a self guided tour and saved $550 collectively. The tour guide only gave us very basic information at the entrance to each area and then we had to guide our selves. The food stalls we were taken too were not good and very overpriced while we passed many busy food stall filled with locals we went to a place that served dry and boring shwarmas. We were only allowed time for one souvenir shop that was picked by the guide and the shop was very sketchy and insanely expensive. The shop ripped off one of the guests by giving them 6 Shekels back for $6 USD in change shorting them 15 Shekels. We were dropped off at the Holocaust museum and left to guide our selves while many other tour groups got a guided tour. We only got around 3 hours actually in Jerusalem. Not worth the money and a total disappointment.

I scheduled the English speaking tour, but we pick up a couple of the French tourists on the way to Jerusalem. So better half of the tour time our tour guide Moses was speaking French. Nothing against French, but he spend less time on us. The tour guide only gave us very basic information at the each station and then we had to catch up on him to the next station and he would not answer any questions in between. Than he take us for lunch, food were not good dry chicken thighs shawarmas and very overpriced, while we passed many busy restaurants filled with peoples and a good aroma. The gift shop that we wore taking by our tour guide on the way to Jerusalem was the scam, the sale price was in Shekels but I was surprised later in the hotel when I checked my receipt and found out that I was charged in USD. Make sure that the price is right before leaving this place or better order all your presents on the eBay. You can get the same junk chipper and delivered to your home from Israel. We were dropped off at the Holocaust museum and left to guide ourselves for almost 3 hours while many other tour groups continued with guided tour. We only got around 3 hours actually time in Jerusalem and almost 3 hours in Holocaust museum. Really disappointed.

I'm not sure how/why some travelers had bad experiences with Rent-A-Guide. I went on four day trips with this company, and all were fantastic. They picked me up and dropped me off right at the front door of my hotel. All of the guides were very knowledgeable, though some were more outgoing and comedic than others. Depending on the day, we only had a handful of other people in our group despite booking a large-group tour. I would absolutely recommend Rent-A-Guide without hesitation.

The Sea of Galilee Tour was amazing. Passing through Nazareth, Capharnum. Transport was provided and we were given enough time at each stop of the tour. Jerry was great !! He gave us in depth knowledge about the traditions, cultures and beliefs at each stop . He included many biblical references , which made the experience even better !! Thanks. Lunch is not included !! It was quite expensive

I have been on many tours in many countries including Israel. This was the worst tour I have been on in my entire life. The tour guide had a flat affect was 5uninterested and seemed angry. The dead sea / masada tour was one tourist trap after another. An Elvis rest stop the Aveda factory which was overcrowded overpriced and had us watch an infomercial prior to purchasing anything. A cafeteria like setting where the food was what I imagine prison food to be quality wise and had a seriously limited selection for vegetarians. Even the dead sea was a tourist trap and it was barely accessible because it had stairs that were difficult for me to use and it was quite steep and unsafe for anyone with any sort of mobility issues (I have none and am middle age and worried I would get injured). The changing room/showers were nasty and we barely had time to even enjoy it. We spent more time at tourist traps (Aveda the terrible lunch experience and a random stop on the side of the road) than enjoying the dead sea or masada. The small tour which we paid extra for was on a van which made the leg room on coach or economy seem luxurious. A girl on the van had to keep reminding the tour guide to put on the air conditioning. At the conclusion of the tour where we got back an hour after our scheduled finish time for the day our tour guide literally dropped us off on the side of the road instead of driving to the front entrance to the hotel and said "okay you can get out now" and even though I would typically argue this we were so eager for this horrible experience to be over we got out and walked back to our hotel. This was quite literally the most miserable tour experience I have ever had. Please save yourself a precious day on your beautiful israel vacation and avoid this tour company.

For the price of the trip, the tour guide was late by 30min. We waited for 2 others for another 15min to get here. First impressions are important.

Rent a Guide is the best tourism company in Israel. No doubt about it. If u need them, go for it. Super professional, not like most of israelis turism companies. Excellent service at very reasonable prices. Thank you guys. Keep up the good work.

Meni Tzberi was our guide for our first trip to Israel. Meni is absolutely amazing as a guide, as well as somebody with the ability to share his wealth of knowledge with a humorous delivery. Thoroughly enjoyable!

I was looking for a small group tour to see Masada and the Dead Sea. I chose this outfit and to be quite honest I was very disappointed. I booked an English tour - it showed that these tours operate every day - fantastic! We get to the bus and all announcements were being made in English and German. Im a fan of languages - but this Bilingual tour (especially as it was not indicated anywhere that this were the case) seems like a bit of a bait and switch for a couple reasons. First, it was extremely hot and each topic discussed takes twice as long to cover. It was tedious. It created tension among some in our small group and it seemed to take away from our experience with the knowledgeable and friendly enough guide. Additionally I regretted the choice to go with a small group - naturally we were in a small bus. The AC was miserably insufficient for one of the hottest days of the year. I understand AC is only designed to work to a certain temperature differential but this was unacceptable. Many in our group were way too hot and advanced in age. I was legitimately concerned for the well-being of those on the group. Additionally the driver should have turned on what air there was prior to passenger boarding which did not happen at most of the time. Iā€™m sure thereā€™s other options for tours here in Israel and believe me - I would go elsewhere.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst tours I have taken. They spent one hour picking up people from hotels in Tel Aviv and then another hour driving from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The guide never talked during this entire time period, no background info, no anecdotes, no history. Nothing. Same thing happened on the way back---another two hours of nothing, only this time he was talking loudly to one passenger about personal issues in Hebrew. The itinerary was fine, but the tour itself was rushed through Jerusalem and in two languages so you got skimpy information. Would not recommend this company.

In general they are not bad. But we had lunch in a place they suggested which was the tourā€™s lowest point. Unfriendly staff and low quality food.

Very disorganized and unprofessional. The guide talked mostly about how good he is, how well trained, what a great driver we had, what a great restaurant and gift shop he took us to. Yes, he covered some history, but had lost his credibility with all the BS. Very chaotic at the beginning and the end. Uncomfortable vans. Would not recommend this company.

The tour of Jerusalem in a small group was okay, but it was far from outstanding. Our tour guide Moses gave us the bare minimum of information and did not go beyond that. I would have expected more in-depth knowledge than what I could read in a few hours on the internet. He also left us on our own on a few different occasions to visit the western wall and the Church of Holy Sepulchre without providing much guidance. The visit to the Holocaust memorial was by far the most interesting part of the tour, but it was self-guided, and in my opinion, 1 hour and 30 minutes was too short to see most of it. It also doesn't make sense to pay a tour guide for a self-guided tour. I would have preferred to spend a few more hours in Jerusalem, learn more about its history, and visit the memorial on my own and at my own pace another day without going on a tour.

Hilik was the bright spot of our tour. Wasn't a fan of the hotels or the food but his commentaries were tremendous. The sites were wonderful but so much more enjoyable since he was able to provide excellent background.

The woman guide name Molly(?) she will bring you to specific souvenir shop if you are traveling to Jerusalem. She hands in glove with those store owner. The price is crazy compared to other store. They are even selling products with dollar price. She wonā€™t let you go to other store saying we donā€™t have time. Please donā€™t buy anything where she introduces.

Terrible. Save yourself the trouble, did no research for this company prior to booking. Saw the brochure in the hotel and decided to do it since the front desk staff at hotel were helpful to book. But please choose a better company, didnā€™t take us to all sites mentioned in brochure, commentary is very limited, and then itā€™s totally fine food and drink (I was prepared for this brought my own) is not included, they proceed to take us to I assume their friendsā€™ businesses to eat breakfast and lunch (expensive) taking limited time away from tour and not to mention a gift shop before even visiting any sites. They get mad if your late but itā€™s totally no problem if they delay or switch the itinerary on you. We waited 45 min for one person to be transferred to our bus. Overall, would never book through this company again. I couldnā€™t book a tour Last minute through TripAdvisor I wanted (#1 listed tour and cheaper) due to limited capacity; rent-a-guide still had room (no surprise now) also I think they have hidden fees the small tour was $155 per person ended up being charged $350. So if you come to Israel during a busy time and did not book a good tour prior to arriving, go ahead with rent-a-guide for convenience and easy booking (2 stars for this) but donā€™t expect their promised visited sites to be fulfilled or any grand knowledgeable history that you can get more out of Wikipedia. Thanks a lot rent a guide I learned my lesson

We had a great tour of Jerusalem and the Dead Sea thanks to our amazing guide Yuval (I hope I got his name correctly.) First off, the office staff were very responsive and helpful when we couldnt book the tour last minute online. On the day of the tour, our guide came on time. He was lively and welcoming, and didnt miss to explain the different ā€˜sitesā€™ we see on our way to Jerusalem. We enjoyed the tour itself thanks to the professionalism and knowledge of our guide! The tour was perfect if you have limited time in the country and want to visit both jerusalem and the dead sea on the same day. Since our guide is a local, we also felt more secure to tour out of Tel Aviv amid safety concerns in the country.

We booked our tour the day before from the brochures at our hotel. We were told to be ready at 6:45 which we were however the driver arrived closer to 7am and we were the first ones to be picked up - 15 min late no biggie. Then we go pick up other people from different hotels and we end up at a parking spot where other vans and buses were parked where some people changed vans and then we waited for 45 min for a person who was coming late. We have already lost one whole hour. We get to Jerusalem and we got off at ā€œMt Olivesā€ where they gave us a 5-10 min explanation and then we came back to the bus. The view was amazing if it wasnā€™t for a huge roof under us (pic included). Then we arrive to yet again another parking spot where we switched vans and guide. Before we even look at any other places we are taken to a souvenir spot weird but fine. We get to the Nativity of Jesus and we had to wait a long time to go in the cave - when we finally did, our (second) guide aggressively told the people that were praying in the cave to move on and be considerate of others which resulted in an aggressive altercation.. not what you expect in a holy place. We leave to eat at a buffet which was expensive and decent (or maybe we were just that hungry). Then we go back to our original van and off we go to the old city where we rushed around a few spots and then off we go back to the van. The tour was supposed to include a bunch of stops (pic of the tour included) which we didnā€™t go to all of them. We didnā€™t go to Shepherds field, Mount Zion nor the room of the last supper. After some research we realized itā€™s actually cheaper to book directly from their website than through the hotel. This was WAY to expensive to not even get to go to all the promised spots. The second day we booked for the Dead Sea and the Masada tour. Originally, we were told to be ready by 6:45 and last minute they changed it to 5:45. We didnā€™t get to go to Masada because it has rained and roads were blocked. Instead of offering a discount or maybe include breakfast in our tour they said they would take us to two other spots. First stop was an Elvis cafe which was kinda cool and unexpected. Then they took us to a tiny baptist place where you can se a piece of the Jordan river which we only had 10 min to hang out and I actually spent half of it in the bathroom (face palm). Then we rushed to the Dead Sea beach and when we were all off the bus we were asked to return and go to this tiny museum before they closed. They gave us a quick tour of the museum which took like 25 min. Then we finally got back to the Dead Sea beach and only had 2 hours to hang out and god forbids you take a minute longer cus the tour guide is breathing on your neck. Then we went to lunch which was in the same building as the museum so we drove back there. We were back at our hotel before 4pm. We paid $700 ($180 per person per tour) to spend hours waiting in a van, hear people fighting, rushing around everything, spend two hours at the beach, not go to Masada, not go to all the promised stops in Jerusalem, spend 30 min in an Elvis cafeteria, 10 minutes by the Jordan river and 20 min at a tiny museum.

Worst experience! We booked a german speaking guide due to my parents, and instead got an english tour with some splashes of hurried bad german sentences after the english rant. The guides were aggressive with words and the whole tour in Betlehem & Jerusalem felt stressful and hurried. On top of that, the guides had some deal woth the worst ever restaurant in Betlehem were they took us. It was an disgusting canteen without any windows, serving prison food on a tray for 20ā‚¬/ person! Afterwards we were driven to a souvenir shop where we were ā€œencouragedā€ to buy stuff. Absolutely awful!

On our first 2 days me and my grandmother went to Jerusalem, and Masada and the Dead Sea. Our tour guide, Avivit was lovely and really knew what she was talking about, and our driver Gutman who also very good. On the second day we had a very professional and courteous guide and driver (in one) he definitely knew what he was doing. On our last day trip we went to the western Galilee which was something we were looking forward to. Unfortunately our tour guide, Isaac, spoke very poor english, and barely gave out any information. It seemed that he was mainly a French guide because he kept on speaking French on accident to the group, so he clearly didnā€™t know English well. Many other people on the tour also agreed that Isaac didnā€™t really know what he was talking about. Isaac rarely spoke to us about our surroundings on the highway, and was talking to the driver the whole time, who happened to be Gutman (but still Gutman is an excellent driver). It was unfortunate that our last tour had to end like this. I wouldā€™ve given this 5 stars but because of Isaac, Iā€™m giving 3. I would recommend that he stops giving tours in English, or even stop tours period due to his lack of knowledge and information.

Greatest travel experience because of our guide Meni, making Israel come alive. Meniā€™s storytelling abilities, knowledge, along with engaging our small group of 13, made it beyond what we ever could have expected. Our Israeli travel agent in Los Angeles, Tamar, who knows the country well, goes back regularly as she still has family in Israel, sends one person and large groups, and all of her travelers have returned extremely pleased, now I understand! We were told we would have a true scholar and RENT A GUIDE, Meni, definitely delivered, as well as Tamar in Los Angeles at World Express Travel!

We had a great experience with our tour guide, Rami Farkash. A private tour guide who was our driver too. He was so very professional and well read. Rami told us about each and every detail both on the drive and the locations. Professional and friendly at the same time, with added humor that never failed to make us laugh! all through the journey, even though we had little time. The details and info was very interesting. At every sight it was almost like we were in a history class! Would highly recommend Rent A Guide to all my friends if they travel to Israel, and particularly Rami! Thanks.

Meni Tzabari was a fabulous guide for our 14 day tour in Israel. We are experienced travelers who can unequivocally say Meni was the best guide we have ever had. Meni is warm, humorous, very knowledgeable of Israeli history and biblical knowledge. He brings all of his skills warmth and knowledge to the job every day. He is very considerate of each group member's specific needs and accommodates them as best he is able. Meni is greeted warmly by restaurant owners, people who work at attractions and many other people we encountered. People declared "he is the best" and I can say they were right, he is great and anyone who tours with him will enjoy their experience that much more.

Recently, we had the pleasure of touring Israel with the most amazing guide-Meni Tzbari! Meni was able to share his vast knowledge of this beautiful country in a very entertaining way that brought our group together as if we were family by the end of our 14 day tour. I would highly recommend Meni Tzbari as your tour guide if you want to enjoy your tour of Israel!

Very disappointing. Find another tour company. Our tour guide was unfriendly and passive aggressive. We were taken to many tourist stops instead of spending quality time at the Masada and the Dead Sea which is what we booked our tour for. For lunch we stopped at an overcrowded tourist "restaurant " which ran out of some selections and served unedible substandard food. When the tour ended we were dropped off on a corner and told to get out. She didn't even take us to our hotel entrance. Stay away. Find another tour.

I am on a trip to Israel and I booked a JERUSALEM GOLD HOTEL at a CVC store. Arriving here, I bought 02 tour packages directly at the reception of the hotel from the company RENT - A - GUIDE for the 28th and 29th of June, the 28th being tour number 03 to NAZARETH, SEA OF GALILEAN, CAPERNAUM AND JORDAN RIVER and on the 29th the tour number 05 for JERUSALEM AND BELƉM. The hotel attendant RECEIVED $273 CASH and retained the brochure. On the 27th, I went to a wedding in Haifa and I looked in my email for information about the tour I had booked and there was none. My Israeli friend called the hotel to find out the bus departure time and the hotel attendant couldn't answer and asked him to come back the next day to speak with the receptionist in the morning. The next day I arrived at the hotel at 07:00 am and was informed that my tour had left and I asked the hotel to solve the problem. I was suggested to change my tour to Masada which made me very sad because I am a Christian and knowing Naraze was very important to me. But in order not to lose the 132 dollars I had already paid for the tour, I accepted the exchange and took the tour number 02 to Masada and the Dead Sea On the same day at night, another receptionist called me wanting to understand what happened. I explained everything I reported above and she apologized to me and said that I would only need to pay the difference of the 12 dollars ride. I told her I understood and that I had enjoyed the other ride and that I would pay the difference no problem. She asked me to pay at check-out and asked me to be at the reception at 09:00 in the morning to go on the tour the next day. I went to sleep happy and peaceful. The next day, I woke up early excited to take the tour in Jerusalem and Bethlehem and when I went down to the reception I sat on the couch at 08:50 waiting for my car to take the tour. The receptionist who sold the tour and who created this huge mess called me and said that I should fully pay the amount of the passio from the previous day because the RENT - A - GUIDE agency was demanding that I pay. I said I was wrong because yesterday she had offered me to replace the tour and gave me the Masada tour as an option. She put me on the phone with someone from RENT A GUIDE who screamed and demanded that I pay for the ride. I tried to tell him what happened and he said it was not his problem. And that the most he could do is give me a discount and I would pay dollars. As I didn't want to make a fuss, I paid the receptionist the 60 dollars. In the midst of this confusion, my car arrived for the other tour, it turns out that the guide said that the tour I bought was not in Spanish, only in English. Turns out I don't understand a word of English. I use google translate. In the RENT - A - GUIDE brochure, which is all in English, it said that the tour departed every day. I questioned the receptionist who called the agency. The person who answered said that in the leaflet on the first pages there was a table saying that this tour was not available in Spanish only on Thursdays, FACT THAT I WAS NEVER INFORMED BY THE HOTEL, which I would have no way of knowing, and if I knew I would never do the purchase because I really don't know how to speak English and I only understand Spanish. The receptionist handed me the phone to the person from the RENT A GUIDE agency who shouted that I had to know what I was buying and that I would not return any money. And the minibus left and left me without a ride. I started crying very sad because this hotel JERUSALEM GOLD HOTEL and the agency RENT A GUIDE destroyed my trip and even generated a loss of 260 dollars. I'm very shaken. I left Brazil and was humiliated and damaged financially and emotionally on this trip.
