Stay away from this embassy - it employs the most unpleasant officials I have met before that make a feeling that customers are burdening their existence. Shame on the state of Portugal that such people represent the country.

Why do you even exist?! You do not answer the phone, do not reply to emails or even fax. I have an urgent matter that does not have anything to do with passports and no one to talk to. Shame on you.

I think we all need to be a little more understanding. The embassy is clearly overbooked with citizenship applications, but unlike many trigger happy folks here I got the impression that the embassy team is actually doing the best they can. Yes, I didn't get a reply to either of my e-mails sent days apart, and there's no one to speak to on the phone these days. So I went there today (Tuesday is their no apointment day) and was welcomed by a kind and very helpful man, who saved no efforts to make sure that everyone was getting everything they need, and beyond. He was polite, efficient and the best part, he did it with a honest smile. Knowing the hard work that those guys face these days, people like you and I, we should be more tolerant and understanding, this really applies anywhere else.

I understand the embassy is “flooded” with applicants wishing to acquire the Portuguese nationality but, it’s certainly unreasonable to wait for almost 2 years in order to issue the a citizen card and a passport...

the address is no longer there, the correct one is: 32, HaArba Street Southern Tower, 26th floor, Tel Aviv Israel 6473925. I just have to say good things, they helped me to renew my passport and cc with a courtesy and sensitivity for the case itself that I can only thank. do not forget and that they continue with the same number of employees for an abysmal growth of work because of the new Portuguese citizens that many do not even know about Portugal but complain a lot

I provided security services last week at the Consulate of Portugal and I can communicate the opening hours to the public from Monday to Thursday from 9:00-16:30 and Friday from 9:00-13:30. There is an enthusiastic work team and a good attention to the public. Of course, there is a large influx of people and a little more organization is needed.

I am a Portuguese citizen that has been trying to obtain a passport (since mine is about to be expired) from March this year. After 2 months without any reply to my email, I am went directly to the embassy. Within their working schedule, I could only talk with someone (in English, not Portuguese) through an outside grey device. No one was there. I explained my situation and I obtain the following reply “there’s a lot of people in your situation but we don’t care”. They literally told me they don’t care! What’s the point of having an embassy of Portugal in Tel Aviv if Portuguese citizens can’t even get an appointment to get a passport or a citizen card? I am currently with my student visa expired and possibly won’t have a passport on time to leave Israel when my scholarship finishes soon enough. Can the embassy explain how Am I suppose to survive? Do you suggest I walk back to Portugal in October? They did rely to my email of passport 2 days ago finally only to ask me when does it expire. What is the point of this service?
