It was great experience cooking with Jon! First, he took us through the market to source our own ingredients, then back to his studio to get cooking. Jon breaks down the techniques, and makes it easy to prepare authentic Israeli dishes. We made pita, hummus, salads, falafel, and a great cauliflower dish - then ate it all, and topped it off with delicious dessert. Would recommend this as a perfect afternoon activity, even if you donā€™t cook (like me). Thank you, toda rabba!

After living in Israel for 3 years I decided to learn how to prepare Israeli food. Much to my surprise, Jon's class proved to be amazing! We prepared the most t amazing food and had the best time as strangers. I did not think I could learn so many new things after 50 years of cooking. Jon was an excellent teacher. Wishing him the best

One of the highlights of our trip to Israel. Jon provide an entertaining, informative, and delicious cooking class incorporating everything from buying ingredients from the market through cooking it all. His instructions and recipes are so useful that we were able to make a great falafel meal when we returned home

I signed myself up for Jonā€™s Shuk / Cook tour in late December figuring it would be a good activity to do by myself while waiting to catch up with family in Tel Aviv. I did all of the signing up while still in the US. Jon was super easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and the experience was really great. We did a 4pm Shuk tour on a Wednesday. The tour itself was rather brief but highlights included Jon pointing out the popular eating spots on the edges of the market and a couple of his favorite produce vendors. We also had a VERY TASTY sampling of a sfinj fritter (I went back 2x more during my week in Tel Aviv). With produce in hand we went to Jonā€™s nearby studio and made a fantastic spread of falafel, salads and fresh homemade pita. See photos as part of the review. Jon was very friendly and kept the group engaged and focused. He answered all of our questions and was kind, informative and super easy going. The dinner was DELICIOUS and I am eager to try to make these dishes at home. We were a group of 15 that included a large multigenerational family and a newlywed couple. Everyone was super friendly. I felt very comfortable being solo in the class. Highly recommend!

A real Israeli experience!! We were a group of eight friends. Boy, what are an experience! Jon Took us around the market and showed us how Israeli people do it, we have purchased ingredients straight from the farmer fresh fresh fresh!! And then all of us cooked a wonderful Israeli lunch together with Jon!! I really recommend the ā€œ Israeli Street foodā€

What fun! We spent a wonderful day in Jon's company. He took us on an informative visit of the Carmel Market before heading to his studio, which is state-of-the art. Definitely a hands-on workshop. Our end products were so satisfying and delicious. I highly, highly recommend this experience. Suitable for most ages and any ability. In our group, we had 7th graders to retirees. Our group was a lovely size of eight.

My wife and I attended Jonā€™s cooking class on our recent trip to Israel. Jonā€™s class was without a doubt one of the best experiences weā€™ve had in Israel (and weā€™ve been there many times). Jon is engaging, charismatic, knowledgeable and funny. We learned about the Shuk and how itā€™s changed, picked up some tips on shopping there, and then cooked and ate delicious Israeli Street food at Jonā€™s very nice studio. We also laughed and had fun. Whether itā€™s your first time in Israel or your 8th, I highly recommend Jonā€™s cooking class.

We have traveled the world and can honestly say this is one of the most unique, fun and delicious experiences we have ever had. Jon is a first class chef, guide and all-around superb teacher and wonderful person with whom we highly recommend spending four hours eating, learning and laughing. This is an experience not to be missed!

Amazing market tour and cooking class! Jon has wonderful energy, and teaches so well! Our family of 4: 2 kids (ages 9 and 11) and 2 adults enjoyed this so much, a highlight of our time in Tel Aviv. The food he taught us to make is some of the best food we had in Israel. Also, on the market tour, the food Jon had us try was delicious. If you are considering taking a cooking class or just love food, do this cooking class!!!! We have been using the recipes Jon shared with us at home, and they are wonderful.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish! Jon is very responsive and communicative on WhatsApp and has a ton of energy, knowledge and integrity when you meet him. We had a bit of a mix up over which menus our group wanted (seafood vs street food) and he added another class on his day off to accommodate us to make sure we got to enjoy what we wanted!!! He was quickly able to fill a whole class of lovey folks and we spent 5 hours having such a lovely day - shopping in the market, trying juices, deserts and spices, learning how to pick the best vegetables and fruits. Then we learned all the techniques to make a 7 course meal...even pita bread from scratch! The time flew by and I really feel like we can do this again at home. Jon is a really great teacher and everything is fully hands on, low pressure and there is plenty of wine and beer. Canā€™t recommend this class enough.... have taken cooking classes all over the world and this was the best public class by far!!!

This was one of the best things we did in Israel. Jon is amazing and will make you involve in every dish he makes. We started with a great walk around the Carmel market, where he took us to his favorite spots to buy spices, vegetables and fruits. We then walked to his studio where we cooked amazing street food. I highly recommend this place. You wonā€™t regret it! Thank you, Jon!!

We participated in Jon's cooking class as part of a team building activity and had an amazing time! We had lots of fun cooking the dishes and most importantly - eat them :) We were all Israelis so I can only imagine how perfect it would be to experience it as a tourist!

We had a class with Jon last week and it was our favorite meal on our trip to Israel! You make everything from scratch and itā€™s so hands on. Truly an incredible experience with excellent food to match. Iā€™d recommend this class to anyone visiting Tel Aviv.

This was a great experience. The market tour is very informative and shows you the best places on the market. The cooking itself is quite relaxed where you make some absolutely tasty streetfood. We stayed 2 weeks in IsraĆ«l and these were the best falafelā€™s I had during that time.

We had an amazing experience with Jon and a few other nice guys on the carmel market. The cooking following experience was also really exciting. Canā€™t wait to cook some Israeli food at home. Highly recommend!

What an amazing activity to do while travelling. Jon was knowledgeable and fun. He took time to explain everything while making sure you were getting the hands on experience as well. Highly recommend if youā€™re in tel aviv!

Jon was amazing! The tour through the market was worth the cost! I had so much fun and canā€™t wait to bring my friends back. Each class is different so check and see what your options are. I did the Israeli street food class and it was perfect. I learned how to make the best falafel I have had in the 12 days I was in Israel!

I recommend Jon's market tour and class to beginner and intermediate amateur chefs and to tourists who want to spend a day or a half with a Israeli / Middle Eastern cultural immersion through food.
