1991
by
Professor
Yehuda
Danon,
who
managed

until
1997.

Schneider
Center

pediatric
surgery

named
after
the
Schneider
family,

of
the

for

couple's
vision
was
that
the
hospital
would
be
a
bridge
to
peace,
and
that
the
hospital
treats
children
from
all
over
Israel
and
neighboring
countries,
in
special
cases.
The
hospital
belongs
to
a
general
health
services
group.
In
2017,
the
construction
of
a
seven-story
hospital
tower
began,
which
will
be
built
next
to
the
current
building
(from
the
south)
on
a
total
area
of
36,000
square

The
Friends
of
the
Schneider
Center
for
Pediatrics
in
Israel
association
is
called
"Schneider
Center
Trustees"
and
has
been
working
to
raise
donations
since
the
establishment
of
the
hospital
in
1992.
The
first
president
of
the
association
was
Ora
Herzog,
the
wife
of
the
President
of
the
State
of
Israel
who
served
at
the
time.
Today,
the
executive
committee
consists
of
the
founding
core
of
the
organization,
businessmen
and
key
figures
who
joined
the
action
and
work
on
a
full
volunteer
basis.
