This is a museum in Jakarta, Indonesia. It showcases life, career and works of General of the Army Abdul Haris Nasution, a prominent military figure and the former Indonesian Armed Forces Chief of Staff who barely escaped capture and assassination at the hands of the 30 September Movement in the 1965 coup attempt. Formerly this house is residence of Nasution and his family when he became the Indonesian Armed Forces Chief of Staff in 1949 until his death on 6 September 2000. On 30 September 1965, troops from the presidential bodyguard attempted to kidnap Nasution. Nasution escaped, but his daughter, Ade Irma Suryani Nasution, and First Lieutenant Pierre Tendean were killed. From now on it handed to Indonesia National Army and turned into a Museum to honor him.

Small museum, about general Abdul Harris Nasution's life and G30S PKI kidnapping plot that happened in this house on 30th September 1965. Entry is free, parking for car is easy, and there is tour guide to explain the items inside. Very well maintained, with life size diorama to show what happened on that fateful night. Interesting for local visitor to learn about our politic history. Some diorama and showcase could be too creepy for sensitive person, but still recommended for short day visit.

A very important museum in the political and military history of Indonesia. A very dark and bloody history. Leaving a very long stigma and trauma. This museum is a reminder, so that the Indonesian people remain united and strong.

It's a tiny museum, easy to be missed if you walk by Teuku Umar Street. But i would say it was well maintained by the Indonesian Army. People can park their car inside of the museum area, quite spacious parking space for family cars. There is the museum caretaker/historian who can guide us, just like most Museum in Indonesia they put forward first person experience and plenty of diorama. Very old school, but quite excellent storytelling. If you're looking for something to do in Jakarta, museum hopping, especially to this museum is highly recommended.

Actually this museum was the house of General AH Nasution when the G30S PKI attacked. It is located in menteng area. This museum shows all rooms that used by AH Nasution family. It also shows some dioramas about the attack, one of them is the diorama that shows his daughter, Ade Irma Suryani Nasution was killed at that time. There is no entry ticket. You just need to write your name in guest book.

The great general used to live here before it became a museum. The staff explained the whole rooms and what happened during the incident very well. You are allowed to ask questions to get more detail information to the staff. You still can see the evidence left after the incident, all real and no renovation. Books written by the General can also be seen at the library.

Well maintained and wow, the tour guide was very enthusiastic, the guards seemed so friendly and welcoming too.

Very impressive experience. I was moved by the personal story of Mrs Yanti Nasution. The daughter of the General who survived this horrible attack.
