The Dubois Centre for Panafrican Culture is a fine destination for those who appreciate history. W.E.B. Dubois was an important figure in African history having a large role in the Africana Encyclopedia for example. He was also the first black man to obtain a PhD from Harvard. The museum tour is guided and guests are shown various rooms in the home including his library which contains over 1,500 books, and his bedroom in which is displayed a gift from communist China, a letter from Lenin, and his academic dress from Harvard. The grounds are quite nice and we'll manicured. The mausoleum containing Dr Dubois is particularly well maintained. The museum is not large but offers insights into Dr Dubois' life. There is also a rather nice restaurant on the grounds which offers a good selection of menu items. The Roots Fave pizza is very good.

The Centre is a complex of four major buildings which include the home where Dr. DuBois spent his last years, an Administrative building, the Marcus Garvey Guest House (simple rooms from $40 / Bed & Breakfast as at 2021) and the tomb of Dr. DuBois and his dear wife Shirley Graham DuBois. It's best to go on weekends after 10am where you can find some goods market with a wide range of things being sold, from African clothing, musical instruments, food, artifacts, Shea butter and many more.

The W.E.B Center is a MUST VISIT on your trip to Accra. Du Bois has contributed to so much of our history. This is my second time doing a tour and I love how they are conducted and that the museum is in the home he lived in. You get to walk into each room and see original items that were used my Du Bois. The Center also houses a library where you can sit and read from over 1,000 books! absolutely recommend. -Christina Jane, Travel Lifestyle Blogger: beingchristinajane.com

The Dubois Centre is a living and vital memorial to a great man who valued and took pride in his African heritage and wanted other Africans and the world to understand and value African culture and heritage. It's a tremendous research and conference resource. Worth visiting.

A friend had his wedding there quiet recently and the place is nice. Spacious ball rooms. Big car park, neat washrooms and also the Air-conditioning works perfectly. They have enough trees there which provides shade. We really enjoyed the place. I was there as the emcee and I will recommend the place to others. Good job to the management of the place.

This place holds more than I can grasp at once. It's a memorial centre as well as a cultural hub that also serves as a museum. One can buy a whole lots of local cultural items including art pieces. Halls for events and marriage ceremony and places for films and actor's guilds... Roots restaurant is situated here too. Massive compound and parking lots...

A small but INFO-LOADED site. It feels great to walk through the final residence Dr. and Mrs. DuBois. Reading some of his many manuscripts, notes, speeches and other documents is a strong experience. If you are a bookaholic, you will savor the opportunity to thumb through DuBois personal collection. I cannot believe that I actually held jis copy of Soul of Black Folks. BTW, Abigail is an excellent on-site tour guide.

Fabulous artisan market on Saturdays, well worth a visit amazing number of good quality artists stalls at reasonable prices. Relaxed atmosphere to look and try things on. Deals for multiple purchases and good street food stalls, drinks and fresh vegetables. I'd would highly recommend a visit to this for Art & craft purchases- western UK prices but that's fair trade price for skills in making

Nkrumah's life. Dont forget to visit the shops at the end and the African American Associstion of Ghana's spot in the rear. A must visit in Accra.

Constructed in 1821 on the site of a ruined fort built in 1712, Fort Victoria was formerly known as ‘Phipp’s Tower’, in honour of its initial constructor English Governor Phipps. It was later renamed Fort Victoria after Queen Victoria of Great Britain.

The location on google maps is wrong. You can find it by asking the locals. But it is an abandoned place and unsafe to visit. I just admired it from a distance ( there are certain vantage points in Cape Coast you can see the fort from). Visited Fort William instead where there’s a resident and hence much safer.

This center is located on the house where W.E.B. Du Bois lived while in Accra. It has an exhibition of his work here and towards Pan African Culture. Unfortunately the center needs a lot of work. There is a free tour guide on site, which will help you understand better the role that Dr. Du Bois played in Ghana. If you want to get the most out of this site, read something about Dr. Bu Bois before going there, otherwise you will not really enjoy the visit.

The WEB Dubois Center is a historic house museum well worth the visit. I appreciate the thorough, enlightening tour of the home and burial site of this important, repatriated African-American educator, civil rights activist, writer/editor and Rhodes Scholar, Fisk and Harvard University graduate William Edward Burghardt DuBois and notable activist Shirley Graham DuBois, his 2nd wife. It houses unique items belonging to the DuBoises including reference materials of the Encyclopedia Africana and serves as a research library. The Centre is an authentic must-see for those interested in learning the global impact of the Pan-Africanist giant.

The centre is quite limited in terms of artifacts, plus its Du Bois' house is quite rundown but what does remain - particularly the libraries - alongside the very informative tour, is very thought provoking, although a little sad on reflection of those lost hopes and aspirations of African independence and Pan-Africanism - crushed by neo-liberal globalisation.

There were personal pictures of Dubois family life , personal items , world leaders that he knew , in particular , President Kwame Nkrumah and his personal artifacts , collegiate paraphernalia, etc.,

Well for me i love visiting the Du bois center, it has allot of history to learn from a great man who lived there is his last years accompanied with his wife, William Du Bois campaigned for African-American rights and was often referred to as the ‘Father of Pan-Africanism. Around the main museum there is a large gardens space where they organize each end of the month an African market bazar.

The experience was everything. Definitely a “must do” when you visit Ghana! The Center is very well ran, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. The Center does have a gift shop, but we also noticed tents set up outside with vendors selling various items. I’m very happy we took time to go.

Excellent and Professional guide! Grace, our tour guide presented all aspects of the Home of W.E.B. DUBOIS with indepth knowledge and accuracy. His academic and global influences awakened the connectivity of our world and our need to reach out and help each other.

We enjoyed the rich history associated with the center especially the contribution of Du Bois to the emancipation of the African. The staff are courteous and educative to make your visit a memorable one. Looking forward to your verdict after you have visited there

Didn't go there on a visit. A 3-day Book of Condolences was opened for Prof. Ama Ataa Aidoo and I went there with my school mates - Wesley Girls High School. The compound was in a bad shape; discarded furniture littered the place - not a good site for visitors at all. Not impressed!

Serene atmosphere. We used the premises for an upcycling art exhibition. Very well curated by the Foundation for Comtemporary Arts (FCA)
