Shai hills is a wonderful place to visit, d safari and the views is one of its kind, d climb to Mogo hill n sayu cave is spectacular, saw quiet a lot of antelopes, monkeys. D distance between these areas is very long, so is advisable u come with a car if you are someone who can't hike, if you don't come with a car too u can rent a taxi at d entrance of d place, is usually from 70cedis upwards. Buh incase you still want to hike, you should get der very early so dat u don't have to do with d sun. Is not also advisable to feed d baboons roaming u have to take notice. Is a great experience will recommend visiting.

This was an ok trip with family. We had a few disappointments, however made the most of it. We spent more time in the car getting to the main hiking terrain. Not much hiking and mountain climbing when you actually get to the site. You may need to note a few things before visiting as you are not advised prior. No safety precautions in place. Things you should note: 1. Wear trainers/sneakers with track bottoms 2. Wear clothing suitable for hiking 3. Where possible, travel with high/bigger cars 4. Budget for potential additional fees once hike is over as you may be charged extra per person if hike takes longer than allotted time (whether or not in your control) Hope this is helpful.

I enjoyed the hike in this nature reserve. We had a nice and knowledgeable guide who explained to us the historical sites. It also has a museum that showcases the wildlife of Ghana. In the museum is also a library and presentation room. You can also camp in the reserve, have a bicycle or car tour as you wish. I am going back for other activities I couldnt do. Cheers

The reserve is well managed and has a cultural and wildlife museum, zebras, baboons, antelopes and other wildlife. Great for birdwatching as well. There are 5 hills on the reserve and the guides are very professional and knowledgeable.

Beautiful reserve, the wildlife is so unic, i saw abt 6 kinds of animals, the guide told us abt the story of the shai people. You should have a car if you want to go there, to drive through the reserve. You should also have good shoes because you are going to climb on rocks.

It was a wonderful experience for us especially our son. I could see the excitement on his face and in his voice. It wasn’t like my second visit.

This is a very wonderful place to be. For hiking, holiday, party, waiting (prayers) and so on. The place is refreshing, peaceful and relaxing. I really appreciate the freshness of nature of the place. When you visit there, you have the opportunity to learn a lot about history and about the life of animals.

Very friendly and knowledgeable guides working at the reserve. It’s a beautiful reserve as well with caves with different breeds of bats. Saw baboons, zebras,an ostrich and got told the history of the Shai people. I’d certainly recommend for a family trip, a date or just time out with Nature.

An amazing place to visit and learn about the Shai people and their culture. Sometimes they may ask you to pay for a photo permit depending on the type of camera you have on you. Be prepared to climb the hills using the anchored ropes. Our tour guide Bright was excellent and patient.

Shai Hills is a great place to visit, it is best to go there from August to December but NOT during the Harmattan. The reserve is packed with a lot of history, the rangers are so helpful and are good at their job. The reserve is quite large so you will need to take a car to travel around, however if you don't have a car there are taxis available that the reserve offers you (I used this option- prices available in the photos below). There are different animals to see mainly antelope, baboons, ostriches, zebras and pythons. The trip to the caves provides a great hike and cardio lol. Generally I enjoyed the trip, spent 2 hours at the reserve and I went with someone else so it was a shared experience. Definitely recommend.

I loved my visit, price is 25gh first hour, 5gh ever extra hour for Ghanaians, forgot the initial hour price for foreigners, but it's 10gh every extra hour. All the guides and security on site were very friendly. The view from the top of Hieowayo hill is amazing 😍🀩. Seeing the antelopes also was awesome 😎.

Great nature! Don't have too much animals to see but it's worth the 1h drive from Accra. You need to pay around 50 sedis to explore the park more thoroughly if you are not Ghanaian.

So under resourced and ill kept by the government (& preceeding governments). Has lots of potential, chn were amazed to see the vast landscapes and the animals. The monkeys are interesting and enjoyed eating our jellof! All in all a brilliant day out with our lovely guide Timothy Danah.

It was calm and lovely. I enjoyed the hike. They have no eatery or supermarkets around the reserve. Loved the scenery though.
