I went there with some friends planning to spend just 20mins in there. We ended up spending over an hour, and we still wanted to stay and ask more questions.

Very little science and technology. There ground floor was entirely devoted to art and upstairs there were only four glass cabinets with three items in each. One of these was a microscope, another a tape player. There was very little of educational value. The saving grace was a decrepit traction engine outside where someone with in interest in steam boilers could see the internals through the gaping holes

It may not look ver appealing, but this museum has every now and then very interesting artistic temporary exhibitions that connect art, design, technology and science. The building in itself is interesting and there are a couple of historical local technologies worth looking at.

Very cool place that is recently picking up. I think the planetarium is closed for now. Artists also hold exhibitions there from time to time. Really needs a revamp and new audience to accompany that. It's usually empty and most exhibitions are on the lower floor.

Today, I decided to pay a second visit to the Ghana Museum for Science and Technology as my previous was on a Monday which was a No Visiting day. Visiting hours is from 9am to 6pm from Tuesdays through to Fridays. I got to the Museum after 9am. There had been a rainfall on this very day. There was no workers around. After some observations, I had to approach a man who happened to be a Cleaner of the department. I engaged him in a conversation. I got needed information from him. He happened to be called Kojo. There is an Old museum building and recent one which is very big with concrete steps and also a wheelchair access way. People do no troupe there or come in numbers nowadays and the rain had made workers not to come to work early. I did not get the opportunity of going inside the two buildings to have a view. There is vegetation around which to me would enhance visitors mood in what a museum stands for in human life. I had a previous knowledge of an helicopter which was built by a Ghanaian in the 1950's and had been parked on the fore grounds of the Museum but had now gotten degenerated and I saw children playing underneath the remaining body where it is presently parked. I saw a cannon and an anchor on the foregrounds. There was also the remaining parts of a cinema hall nearer the old museum building. There are Sellers of different items nearer the old museum building and along the the roadside. There are a Cottage like buildings near to the Museum and a car park not very far away. The Cottages are for business offices. Though I did not get the chance of entering the buildings to view some artifacts, the whole environment looked impressive.

Its a cool place. I paid entrance fee of GHS 5.00 as a student and resident of Ghana. First floor is dedicated to science and technology and ground floor is dedicated to art.

The Museum of Science and Technology in Accra was established when two lecturers from the Legon Campus of the University of Ghana, identified a need to create awareness of past and current developments in science and technology in Ghana, and presented a proposal for the development of the institution to Kwame Nkrumah, the then president of Ghana. A short time later, in 1965, the Museum of Science and Technology opened its doors. The institution endeavors to inspire those who visit, particularly its more youthful guests, with a desire to discover more about the sciences and technological development in the world around them.

I went here with a group who was traveling from abroad. All we found at the address was essentially an empty building that was slowly falling apart. I am not sure why this is being advertised as a museum since it hardly had any actual exhibits. I was very disappointed. I wish it was just closed until it was in decent shape.

(Translated by Google) Wonderful place ! With a beautiful history. It was Laré, a resident of the village next door, who visited us. Really very adorable. Do not hesitate to ask for directions to get to the top of the caves (where is the entrance) as it is a dirt road, there is no indication and Google Map tells you that you have arrived at the bottom cliffs while there is still a 30 minute drive to go up. (Original) Magnifique endroit !

The museum is beautiful. The interesting part of my visit was the session where I saw the radio, television and camera used so many many years ago (items I only saw on tv). The artworks at the art gallery were awesome. Had the opportunity to see some real good works from students of Takoradi Univ. The museum is a must visit. And oh it is right here in Accra. A great and educative place for a school excursion
