I had the best medical experience of my life at the JOD Medical Center, Mpatado, Anaji in Takoradi on 23/04/2023. My wife and I were directed by a good Samaritan to go and see Dr Fred Dankwah at the said facility. I had been in great and worsening pain from Thursday to that Sunday morning. I have been receiving treatment at another hospital but to no avail. We met Dr Fred Dankwah and after talking to me and examining me told me that I needed an emergency surgery due to a generalized peritonitis secondary to markedly inflamed appendix with localized abscess and mass formation. I must confess that I had dreaded surgery all my life but after talking with Dr Fred Dankwah, the depth of knowledge he demonstrated clearly laid bare the fact that he was on top of his job. In less than an hour after meeting this great but very humble God fearing surgeon specialist all those fears of surgery were completely shattered. I developed an unwavering trust and confidence in this great surgeon specialist. He immediately called his team which I have nicknamed "The Dream Team" after the legendary 1992 American Olympics Basketball Team, and started preparing me for the theater before they even arrived. Within two hours of arriving at JOD Medical Center I was taken into the operating theater with my wife being present from start to finish. The theater is something else. It boasts of the state of the art equipment. The surgery was highly successful, and moving me from the operating table to one of the very plushy wards is an unforgettable experience. The most amazing thing about JOD Medical Center is that we were given our bill only when we were discharged and about to leave the hospital. You can't get this anywhere in Ghana, not even in our so called big hospitals. I highly recommend JOD Medical Center to anyone who wants very qualified professionals and quality medical treatment for themselves, family or loved ones at amazingly affordable costs. You will never regret being at JOD Medical Center or recommending it to anyone.

Today, I had the privilege of doing a nursing placement with the JOD medical surgical centre. I want to give 6 stars! Patient care & outcome after surgery is clearly the number one priority at this facility. The skill set & knowledge the staff acquire is outstanding, I learned so many new things. Doctor Fred is very educational & I couldn’t have asked for a better surgeon to learn from. Impressively, there are 3 staff members in total that run the whole show. They are the most efficient & hard working team you will ever find. One of the surgeries was a skin graft, Doctor Fred & Nurse Charles have been working on this wound for awhile to make sure it was ready for a skin graft. They were diligent & careful, showing upmost consideration & compassion for their clients. I couldn’t have asked for a better day! Thanks to them, the hospital doesn’t have to be such a scary place, JOD is a safe haven.

Some months ago, I had a surgery done to correct my excessive bleeding that had lingered for a while. I developed some complications days after surgery and that was when a friend introduced me to JOD medical center in takoradi, my 'safe haven' to see Dr. Dankwah. Prior to the referral, I had taken a scan so I handed the results to Doc immediately I got there. He went through the scan, gave a detailed explanation of what was wrong and a swift decision was made to send me back to theater just a week after my first surgery. The surgical team was called while rehydration with infusions and blood was ongoing to ensure I was stable for the surgery. I must say i was very amazed when Doc never mentioned any upfront payment before he commenced treatment. My well being was his top most priority and am eternally grateful for the act of geniune love and care. Fast forward, I underwent three other major surgeries including my first surgery from the previous facility making a total of four surgeries within a space of four weeks which was skillfully performed to correct all abnormalities. I must confess that the back to back surgeries and repairs were very complicated but God through Doc and his team saved me. My husband who was out of the country on an assignment had to take some time off to be with me {God bless you my sunshine},not forgetting my God sent( Baba and Gifty),may my God reward you and your entire family. This was indeed a tough moment for the entire family. Infact the 'state of the art equipment at JOD'and the dressing aids contributed immersly in my quick recovery. I was finally discharged home a month after, for dressing every other day. Dr. Dankwah took his time and ensured I had sterile dressings until all wounds were totally healed. Previous lab reports that were scary had all given positive feedbacks, I could go on and on with my narration but will end here by once again acknowledging the hard working team at JOD medical center for their dedication to their work and not giving up on me as we faced the storms together, God bless you all. I recommend this 'safe haven' just incase you have a similar situation .May the good lord continue to bless us all and grant me total restoration .

jod Medical Surgical Centre is a health facility one will never regret after attending. It is equipped with modern facilities, coupled with hard working staff. Headed by a very experienced doctor, of high repute, there is no any better place one should go when in need of surgical and other related medical attention. I and a couple of my family members have been there to receive medical attention and I dare say that you will be marveled by the expert approach by which your condition will be tackled. Just go and experience it, and you will have your own story to tell!

I had a swelling in my throat. It even became painful along the line. A friend who is a surgeon in his field of medical practice advised me to see Dr Dankwah, JOD medical Centre in Takoradi. I booked a date and visited JOD. He examined me and told me I had thyro-glossal cyst. Scanning examinations confirmed his initial diagnosis. He explained to me the possible solutions: One option was to drain the fluid in the cyst, which he said will collect again after a few weeks, and the other option was to undergo surgery to remove the cyst completely and become free. Not too comfortable, I entertained some fear with the idea of surgery. I rather agreed to draining the fluid from the cyst. Immediately he finished I was fine. The cyst was gone and I was praying it would not show up again. But true to his prediction, the cyst formed again after a few weeks. I felt I was at the right place. I went to him again. As an engineer, when I saw him drawing and explaining to me the situation and the procedure to get the cyst removed, I really admired his deep appreciation of my situation and finally agreed to the option of surgery. The surgical team he gathered was very smart and very enthusiastic, making me feel again I was in good hands. What even raised my confidence was when I got to the theatre and one of the team members, who had joined from a different hospital commended Dr Dankwah for being able to procure a state of the art equipment for his theatre, a facility they don’t have in their hospital. In short, the operation was very successful. My wife was allowed to be with me throughout the operation. I got up by the grace of God, I was fine and went home the same day. While in plaster I didn’t go to work. But when the plaster was removed and I went to work a week later and up to date (two months after the surgery) my closest friends have not even seen that something had happened to my throat, meaning it is not easily visible unless I intentionally direct you to look at the spot. This is my account of a comfortable experience at JOD Medical Centre in Takoradi. You may consider if you have a similar situation. God bless you.

Dr Dankwa is one of the down to earth and very knowledgeable general surgeons. His level of expertise is very remarkable; ranging from fibroid, hernia, piles, breast cancer, treatment of severe burns (skin grating), etc. The facility is tidy and serene with modern health equipment and very easy to locate.

The doctors at JOD medical centre are experienced in their field. I was admitted as a burns patient at JOD and by God’s grace through Dr. Dankwah, recovered in a short period. Dr. Dankwah was always available to answer my questions after being discharged and kept guiding me throughout my post-discharge period. Prompt action, professional, passionate, attention and constant post procedure monitoring are just the few words to describe the services rendered at JOD. Our visit to JOD was upon the referral of a General physician who diagnosed our 16yr old son of possible worsening appendicitis which requires an urgent surgery. We got JOD on a Saturday 21 Oct 2023 at 12noon and within 3hours Dr Danquah and his surgical team are ready to perform the procedure. By the grace of God and the professionalism by the surgical team, a successful laparotomy procedure was completed within 60mins.

Went here as a Dutch medical student to observe a thyroid surgery. It was a very a very good experience and I feel like I learned a lot. The staff was skilled and thought me a lot during the surgery. He quicky examined my mother's eyes and hands at first glance, and was able to determine many of the complications she was going through (which was determined by a doctor here in Quebec years ago). He is extremely comfortable to be around, knowledgeable, humble, down to earth, and most importantly- loves what he does (and the people he does it for). It's not about the money (he did not charge). He simply wants to see people happy and well. Also every surgery under his hand has been successful. I'm still blown away! I wish there were more caring Doctors like him!!
