Huge forest in Achimota with a zoo in it. The zoo is the main attraction in there and also , people have crusades over there by going there and pray. The zoo adds a plus to this very huge area with some animals to watch inside their natural environment, great opportunity for both kids and adults

The zoo is situated inside Achimota forest. There is a guide taking people around and explaining about the animals, which is very good. They haven't got many species but I have the feeling they will acquire more in the future.

If not for the dusty roads, I would typically give it a 5 star rating because it's the best place to be if you looking for a safari feel In Ghana plus it's very affordable... 12 cedis for each Ghanaian adults and 2 cedis for each Ghanaian child.. Well, for the dusty roads, maybe the harmattan was just a factor

It was a surprise the government and it ministry of tourism don't have interest in looking at the Accra zoo. The can do better to help raise the image of the place... U take people who arrived from abroad to go see animals and u go to such a place?..... Too disgraceful..

Nice place for tourists..a resting and a place for meditation and quiet time with the lord. It also serves as a good place for prayers and fellowship with the lord.

A beautiful recreation centre, obviously underutilised. The structures put in place point to the vision of the founders. However, the rotten facilities and dilapidated equipment are evidence of poor management practises. Beyond those petty approaches to public projects, the vision is clear, and in the hand of the right facility management company, that labyrinth of edifice can be given a monumental face-lift to give it the commercial value it truly deserves.

Serene and Intimate. Has the Accra Zoo with exceptional tourists guide. But there's still a lot of work to be done.

Its a cool place due to it's road network s. You will have places for a brief rest under any of the tree's. So cool and quite. I will recommend to anyone who wants to pray to God.

Access roads are very bad. The gate collects money per person. At least this can be used to repair the road. Achimota Forest is huge and nice

A forest reserve which used to be patronized by many is now a place for prayer camps, camping, walking, and training grounds for some security companies. Wouldn't recommend this place for tourists.

They had a variety of animals ranging from Lion/ lioness, different breeds of monkeys, tortoise, Imu, Ostrich, snakes. The forest also doubled as a prayer ground to so many churches

The forest gets more tourist on daily basis but the place is not well managed. There are a lot of animals there like antelopes, crocodile, goose, pythons, monkeys, birds, porcupines, lions and many others. Entry is very affordable and please if you are using Uber or Bolt don’t drop off at the entry because it is quite a distance to where the animals are.

So within the Achimota forest is the Zoo. They have quite a wide range of animals but without the elephant and few others. The place isn't properly run and did not have well informed attendance to attend to me in particular. No receipt was gotten for the money that was paid. I am sure the money went into the pocket of the supervisor that day. Regardless, it will be nice to take your kids there for a walk.

Achimota forest reserve is still quite untouched. The location is prime for this I would suggest management of the reserve try to have sections where patrons can come and relax and observe nature. A place where patrons can come have pinics or even as a lunch gate away for the workers around. The road 🛣️ through the forest is bad. This needs to be looked at.

  • 4/5 DAVID A. 4 months ago on Google
I have never gone into the place, but I think a lot of advocacy on preserving nature is on going. This is quite impressive
