My
family
has
been
members
of
the
zoo
for
several
years.
We've
moved
around
and
traveled
quite
a
bit
and
consequently
have
been
to
numerous
zoos
in
the
US,
Europe,
Africa,
and
South
America.
Bottom
line:
We've
enjoyed
the
setting,
the
natural
habitats,
the
helpful
staff
and
many
volunteers,
the
special
events,
and
the
reasonably
priced
refreshments
dozens
of
times
over
the
years
and
plan
to
keep
supporting
and
going
back
while
we
live
here.
I'm
not
going
to
pretend
Cheyenne
is
the
best
ever,
but
it
is
pretty
darned
good.
It's
natural
setting
on
the
side
of
the
mountain
is
pretty
unique.
They
have
a
large
variety
of
animals
despite
being
smaller
than
many
of
zoos
in
larger
cities
that
we've
been
to.
The
ability
to
interact
with
some
of
the
animals
like
birds,
the
giraffes,
wallabies,
and
reptiles
is
pretty
awesome
and
also
unique.
We
also
like
their
events
such
as
Boo
in
the
Zoo
and
Electric
Safari.
The
prices
are
a
bit
high
compared
to
say
Pueblo
Zoo,
but
on
par
with
others
like
Denver
or
Fort
Worth.
A
few
words
of
caution
based
on
some
of
the
negative
reviews.
This
is
Colorado.
The
Zoo
is
on
a
mountain
and
you
will
be
mostly
outdoors.
Wear
appropriate
clothing.
Bring
rain
coats,
jackets,
gloves,
stroller
covers
or
whatever
else
you
may
need
based
on
the
forecast.
If
you
show
up
in
flip
flops
and
board
shorts
in
January
and
ask
for
a
refund,
you
will
be
disappointed.
Also,
animals
stink.
The
zookeepers
don't
Febreeze
them
for
you.
If
you
go
inside
one
of
the
barns
on
a
cold
visit,
it
will
smell
like
a
barn
full
of
zoo
animals.
Get
your
mind
right.
COVID:
It
is
apparent
that
you
can't
satisfy
anyone
when
it
comes
to
pandemic
measures.
I
will
say
they
follow
CO
State
mandates
on
masks
(indoors)
and
attendance.
We've
visited
several
times,
and
felt
sufficiently
safe.
People
are
polite
and
will
give
you
space
if
you
ask...politely.
If
you
expect
zoo
staff
to
personally
escort
you
about
and
give
you
a
6
ft
bubble
and
whip
people
for
not
having
masks
on
outside,
you
will
not
like
it
here.
Go,
have
fun.
We
hope
you
enjoy
it
as
much
as
we
do.
