I have been coming here since 2000 with my family. We are proud members! One of our favorite zoos. Not as big as the Nashville zoo, but they just seem to have better Layout /Exhibits / Lot of places to stop and rest with benches, Picnic tables. Not to meet you boo with the zoo but Halloween is our favorite thing every year. I don’t like the fact to expose you have to go through the gift shop to exit the zoo. Now that usually causes a little problem with the kids. That really the only thing I hate about this zoo. Should be an option to exit without going through the gift shop.

This was an AWESOME zoo. Hand sanitizer throughout the zoo and masks are required indoors. With that being said we went early and it wasn't nearly as busy as when we were heading out. The zoo is well maintained, some renovations going on currently. We enjoyed the zoo a lot. Restrooms were very clean. We didn't eat anything here, but did purchase souvenirs. Everything was comparable to other zoos. We really liked the Giraffes, Gorillas, Rhinos and Red Pandas. We weren't able to see the Lion and decided to fore go the Otter and Reptile exhibits. Overall we really enjoyed our experience and interaction with the staff!!

Nice little Zoo. (I'm from San Diego, and our Zoo is very large and more than one park, which is why I said little Zoo.) They do a nice job with the enclosures. Fun outing to take the Grandkids for the day! They're doing a little remodeling, so there were a few interruptions to the flow around the park. They have the natural habitat type of enclosures, which I appreciate. Lovely weather, we had a lot of fun! I also appreciate the fact that they have free admission for Veterans! Good job!!

One of the best zoos I've been to. The animals seem happy and active, and not only are the exhibits top notch with multiple view points, some of which are inside (with A/C!), but the walking paths are engaging with thoughtfully placed water misters and shade! So much care for the animals and guests. Plenty of attractions to keep kids happy, the food is actually good and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a trip!! 10/10

I have been to close to a dozen zoos all over the nation, and this is definitely in my top 5. I especially liked the misters, shade, and splash pad that helped hold off the heat as we made our trek. This was probably the best monkey enclosure I have ever seen.

We love Zoo Knoxville! My daughter adores all her animal friends who live at the zoo. She is a big fan of monkeys, red pandas, ghiraffes, otters, and tigers. The zoo is well arranged for ease of visiting. This zoo's trails run in loops and the animals have reasonably large well appropriated paddocks. There is plenty of shade for the animals and humans that are at the zoo. The zoo has sunscreen and hand sanitizer dispensers throughout their facilities for sanitizing and preventing children from getting sun burnt. There is also a splash pad for children and parents to cool down during the hot of the Summer. This zoo is definitely a world class Zoological Park.

The Knoxville Zoo is a fantastic place to visit. With a diverse range of animals and well-maintained habitats, it provides an enjoyable and educational experience for all ages. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about conservation, and they offer informative talks and feeding sessions. The zoo's layout is easy to navigate, and there are plenty of shaded areas to take a break. It's a great destination for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking to support wildlife preservation. Don't miss the red pandas and the reptile exhibits – they are a real highlight!

Although it's currently under construction, this place is a lot of fun. There is plenty to do and see. The zoo staff were at almost every exhibit answering questions and interacting with guests. I would suggest going when it's a little cooler out, like in the morning, if you want to see more of the animals. Just like people, they want to stay cool when it's hot. So they tend to find a cool shady spot to hang out when it's hot. Overall my family and I really enjoy going here and look forward to going back as they finish construction which will provide us new ways to interact with the animals.

Really great zoo. Lots of animals to see. I mean a lot. Some good interactive exhibits to participate in as well. Make sure to check out the tiger temple. Especially since they just got a new tiger at the time of this review. The treehouse is a great way to see monkeys and tigers at the same time! There is a small petting zoo there as well with goats, sheep and donkeys. It was really nice and my kiddo had fun getting to touch all the animals. We like this zoo so much, we got a yearly membership. The way the zoo is set up, it's easy to do half the zoo on one day then come back and do the other half on another day (or if you don't have a small child (or fat adult!) that gets tired easily, do it all in one day!)

We love the Zoo! We are season pass holders if you are a family and plan on going more than once get the pass it’s totally worthy it. They have great events (Boo at the Zoo) and you can even get married there! I’ve officiated 3 weddings there. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you. They also have a great kids area with a sand pit, a little water feature (not together) and an aviary that you can going and touch the birds!

I live about 45 minutes away from Knoxville and yearly we get memberships to the zoo. I highly recommend doing so if you live in the area! The zoo is smaller than many zoos, but still has a lot to do and see for kids of all ages. They’ve recently renovated their habitat for reptiles and it looks great! They host seasonal events and activities (Boo at the Zoo, dinosaur takeover, etc.). The splash pad is great, the petting zoo and play area are cute, and the food at the restaurants are (expectedly) overpriced, but good quality. They do well in their maintenance and cleanliness and it seems like the animals are well cared for.

Great time. Good displays. Good fun. Membership is well worth it. We like their special offerings throughout the year. Just took in the dinosaur display, which is now extinct. Visited at the very end. Thankful for the area Chick-fil-As who sponsored the dinosaurs. Wide variety of toys and memorabilia in a variety of colors in gift store.

I loved and hated to see so many exhibits under construction. We love that because obviously more animals and more space for them! But unfortunately I feel like we didn’t get to see a lot because half of it was under construction while we were paying full price. We will definitely be back whenever we find out the construction is finished!

We love this zoo! The staff is so friendly, and very knowledgeable. We had the opportunity to go to a party hosted privately after hours, and to have the zoo to ourselves was such a wonderful experience. The guided tours, refreshments along the way, feeding the giraffe and a catered dinner, just wow! They pull out all the stops!

This is a great zoo to go to if you're in the area. It's not too big or overcrowded (at least on the weekdays), and they had a nice variety of animals to learn about and observe. The Mexican food was pretty good too! Very kid and family friendly, with a water park and several play areas. Highly recommend getting a membership for free tickets.

Great experience. Lots of animals and very spacious. This is one of the better zoos that I've been to. I think the directions are a little difficult to follow, But ultimately you will manage I really enjoyed the up close and personal tiger area and then the lion area.

There is so much to do at Zoo Knoxville. Plenty to keep your children of all ages happy and busy. In addition to the animals, there are several indoor exhibits to get some reprieve from the heat, countless misting zones as well throughout the park, several splash pads and water areas (definitely dress the kids in swimsuits), and several playing areas for the kids to have fun and let loose. You can also bring your own food and drinks which can help save money during your visit! Parking and walking to the entrance can be intense during busy hours. But the zoo does offer a shuttle to avoid the uphill trek. Friendly staff. Super clean and well maintained park.

Having been to several Zoo's throughout the country,I did not know what to expect.I was not disappointed. Other than a few areas that needed some extra care,a majority of the Zoo was as good or better than I expected.

Very pretty zoo! The dinosaurs scattered around the park are a nice touch, but unfortunately some of the animals weren't in their exhibits which was a bit of a letdown. They have free sunscreen stations and lots of mist-machines to help fight the heat. Parking is $5.

Incredible experience getting to see these well cared for animals so close to home. With tue added bonus of a dinosaur exhibit during our visit, this was a hugely memorable trip. We will definitely return and look forward to learning more about the animals living here.

Always a wonderful time at Knoxville Zoo. Animals are well taken care of and I hope they keep expanding. Bought a membership as it's one of the best things to do in Knoxville. Wish they would bring back the penguins. Lots of events (like boo at the zoo, summer splash pads, dinosaur event) for the kids.

It was cold and some of the animals didn't want to come out but we still had fun. The electric bear and cheetah that hold up to 450 pounds a piece was great to ride around on thru the park. Kids and adults both loved them...lol. there a little pricey at 26 bucks for an hr or .35 cents a min, but having them was nice. All in all a good day.

I very much enjoyed the visit to the Knoxville zoo. The black bears exhibit is fantastic. And the white faced Gibbon was an extremely good performer. he kept a whole crowd entertained for quite some time. I also love the red wolves and the red pandas. The only minor disappointment was that the giraffes found it a little chilly on this particular day in November and preferred to stay in the barn. otherwise, I really enjoyed the Knoxville zoo much better than several others I have seen.

It was great! Great place to bring young children when on a vacation, or a great place to go just for fun! They have many cool animals, even a few I haven't even heard about before my trip! Great place, many places to go and many things to do, and they have something for everyone! As long as the animals and the amazing views, they also have a wading pool by the ARC, a splash pad, and a play stream. Overall, this is a great place to go.

Went to Zoo Knoxville today with my girlfriend and had a great time. I would recommend coming as early as possible after they open if you want to see more of the bigger animals, once the afternoon heat sets in it can be tough to see some of them. Overall really enjoyed all the animals we got to see and even got to see an owl and hawk flying around which was really neat. When we stopped for lunch the quesadillas we had were awesome and really fresh. Had a great experience and will definitely be coming back.

This is a great zoo for kids and adults! We went there last fall break and my kids are still talking about it. They love that you're able to have a close encounter with a giraffe and feed it. A variety of animals, interesting exhibits, and I feel like they're Always adding more for us to check out the next time. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We need to get back there again and check it out!

Really enjoyed the zoo. The monkeys and gorillas were fun to watch. Kids enjoyed it and had free sun screen. It had a kid zone with slides, and a splash area. Enjoyed feeding the parakeets. Only thing we did not like was the little rides cost extra. Like the carousel, train and feeding the animals. But jt all goes to conservation.

We go to the zoo often, we purchased season passes! We love the pleasant atmosphere, the animals seem happy and healthy, it's clean and well cared for, and over all a delight. The bathrooms are clean and easy to find, and the gift shop is full of fun souvenirs. We love the new reptile house and go there everytime we visit. We hit up the splash pad and it's a blast for our 3 year old. The employees are super friendly and actively willing to help. Definitely take a train ride! It's summer and the trees are flowering and there are many beautiful flowers.

We absolutely LOVE going to this zoo. It’s not overcrowded, you get to be pretty close to the animals, and you can tell that they genuinely care for the animals they have. If you’re a local, do yourself a favor and buy a season pass- it’s well worth it considering that it’s about the cost of two tickets and you get free admission all year! Along with food and merch discounts, and discounts to other zoos/attractions in their network. Would highly recommend this for both kids and adults :)

Overall, they seem to have a nice & clean zoo. The problem is that a large chunk of the exhibits were closed or the animals weren’t hanging out where we could see them. Some exhibits said “we will return in spring…” well… it’s spring. Not sure where the animals were. Even the hot dog stand & the dippin dots stand were closed. I just feel like it wasn’t worth the money and they should cheapen the tickets when more than 25% of the exhibits are closed.

Had an absolute blast with my wife here. We were able to see the whole zoo in just over 3 hours, but we don't have any kids yet, and didn't spend much time at each exhibit because it was really hot out. I can easily see us spending an entire day here if we were to watch the animals more. We can't wait for our next visit, and are considering becoming members!

We love this zoo so much!!! Great reptile exhibit indoors for inclement weather. Love the new otter habitat too! Plenty of good food options and places for kids to play between visiting the animals. Kids got to feed a sloth one time too!

It was nice! Animals just hang out, I know they are used to the same old thing but it was nice seeing them. The otters were playful and we seen the giraffes and zebra run around. They had misting fans, splash pad, outdoor and indoor gift shops, photo booths and area. Plenty of places to eat and get drinks. My favorite part was that they had a designated area for changing kiddos and nursing moms! They did have feedings for giraffes available too! And rental strollers.

I recently visited the zoo for Pride Night and even though I grew up in Knoxville, it was the first time that I've been in years. Wow. They have definitely renovated since the last time I was there and our zoo is super nice. Clean, attentive staff, great exhibits... Very grateful to have this in our community. A pretty decent zoo for the price. It's about $25/person to get in, and you can easily spend a few hours here. They have a good amount of things for small kids to keep them busy. There's a nice play area, petting zoo, carousel, and a splash pad. The assortment of animals is pretty standard for a zoo. I did appreciate the turtle and frog section they have set up. The gift shop is very pricey, so get your stuffed animals elsewhere and skip the markups.

I was wandering between 3 or 4 stars. I went with 4 after weighing the pros and cons. For a small zoo, it is great for families with small children. The enclosures were clean and had multiple views to see the animals. The paths around the zoo are a little confusing. Would love to see loops at the end of each path instead of a weird dead end.

We've lived here for many years and have loved the zoo. It's always so fun to let the kids get out and run and see some really cool animals. With the addition of the dinosaurs, it makes it even better. The little ones have had so much fun. We are so glad that we get to come back again

For about 10 yrs we have bought yr passes...we have skipped a year here and there before openings of new exhibits...we are such a big fan of knoxville zoo...they have some neat exhibits and fun experiences...till September you can walk the trails and see the dinosaurs and some move...the new outer space is one of our favorites. Being up close to red pandas and a sloth is pretty cool too! Not to mention riding carousel.

The Knoxville Zoo is a great place to spend the morning before the day gets too hot. Even when the animals are too hot, you can still see them indoors as these spaces have glassed viewing areas. My daughter and I spent around 2 1/2 hours viewing the animals and reading about the various conservation programs such as the Red Panda Preservation. Surprisingly, the Dinosaurs at Dawn exhibit was also a favorite and we were impressed by their animatronics. Parking was free and easy. The other visitors seemed to be local parents/grandparents with small children.

Giving a three stars simply because 3-4 exhibits was empty. We wasn’t able to see the zebras, tiger, otters, rhinos they where no out. I’m unsure what was going on but my little girl was so sad about the zebras. The dinosaur exhibit was truly wonderful. We have a Dino obsessed little boy and he was amazed. They made the whole trip worth it just to see him smile. Over all nice zoo would recommend updating the strollers too they were a little run down. But I do like that they have that option to be able to rent one. Parking was a mess but not the zoos fault it was just a busy time.

This was a great little zoo! It's well laid out, so you don't back track. There are plenty of places to stop and sit. They had several water misters throughout to help cool off on this hot hot day. The dinosaurs were neat. But the animals were the stars. We had good views of everything but the tiger....but it was too hot to be out, when you could be inside! The giant tortoise was probably my favorite animal today. We got to see him interact with a keeper. Update: it was supposed to be 5 stars

It was a wonderful day with my son, their Uncle Wesley, and 2 & 3 yr old granddaughters. Their parents were on a BD and Anniversary get away. It was miserably hot so the misters were nice to walk through. All the animals were out and we seen them all but the Bears. We actually noticed how Healthy all the animals looked too. We are so very proud of Knoxville Zoo. The moving and roaring Dino's throughout was exciting. I wish we had known more about the Dino Eggs while we were actually there. But my 3 yr old found them anyway. The old Safari Jeep was a perfect idea for kids to play in. It was truly a wonderful day to spend with my grown son and our little ones.

Not to crowded on a Saturday, but extremely hot so ALOT of the animals were inside the enclosures which were really nice to go into especially the elephant enclosure. That was way cool. Could take my scooter everywhere for handicap accessibility maybe 1 or 2 places I couldn't get into and those included steps to climb. Food very pricey at eateries inside but all of that in their defense goes back into feeding the animals so it is a win-win for everybody. I love how they have handicap parking all the way up at the gate. It is limited so get there early or you will be walking. Only animal I wish they would get is a couple of panda bears and some polar bears.

It's a decent zoo. It's higher priced. It's probably my least favorite of the bigger zoos that we've been to (Toledo, Detroit, Seattle, Fort Wayne). It's fairly spread out, lots of walking, which isn't bad when it's not 93° out lol. They do have some good viewing areas of some animals. Some weren't out or were away from the viewing area. We purchased a membership, only went 2 times, it's not worth the 2 hour drive in our opinion.

A lot of the animals looked really sad and bored. Many of the enclosures are definitely subpar and give the animals nothing to do(aside from sit and get stared at). There was an adorable Gibbon with a really nice enclosure. He was the most happy and entertaining animal there and I'd go back just to watch him. Buy your tickets ahead of time so you don't have to wait in line. Bring a mask just for areas inside buildings.

Loved the zoo! They require masks when indoors for anyone over 12 years old and do not require masks when you are outside. Over all I felt like I could social distance easily and still have tons of fun with my family. It was so nice to have fun doing something together as a family ❤

We love the variety of animals, while still being a small enough area for little people to walk and see everything! Every little bit of construction here is absolutely worth it! I have been watching Zoo Knoxville improve and revamp their facilities for a decade, and they are doing a fantastic job creating a space that is healthier for the animals as well as more engaging and interactive for visitors. And you can't get a better deal than the annual pass - especially for a large family.

  • 5/5 Tiger T. 3 years ago on Google
The Zoo Lights exhibit was so delightful! If you want to be around other families and enjoy the sunset to darkness, shoot for the 5pm to 7pm hours. If you want to feel like you're in a mostly empty liminal space that you and much fewer guests have secretly found, shoot for the 7:30pm to 9pm hours! Small snacks at Lula's, filling sandwiches at The Beastro Café, great seasonal drinks at both eateries! (Most of the animals are napping and not all the areas are unlocked (gazed forlornly at the Red Panda closed doors for a bit), but you'll probably be able to make eye contact with some camels and enjoy some peaceful night elephants! Can't wait to revisit during daylight hours to see all the habitats in action!)

I enjoy coming to Zoo Knoxville. They have a good variety of animals. Their restaurants have tasty food and they’re reasonably priced. I just wish there was better opportunity to get professional-type photos of the animals (the barriers between human and animal at many of the exhibits doesn’t lend to great shots). Also, I wish they had more animals such as Flamingos, Black&White Panda Bears, etc.

We went for the zoo lights festival and had a great time looking at all they had to offer. The enrichment center for the monkeys was very large and it made me happy to know the animals are well taken care of. It took about 30 minutes to go through all the lights but I can't wait to go back and spend more time with the animals while they are awake!

We went for the lights at the zoo, they were pretty cool! Worth going for the price of admission. Wish we got to see a few animals for real, but I understand most are likely sleeping. Haha

  • 2/5 Virgil B. 3 years ago on Google
Nice Zoo however there was very few animals out to see because of the slightly colder weather. All the places to eat were also shut down. If they are going to open on days like that at reduced operations, the price should at least be reduced somewhat.

  • 4/5 Slaw D. 3 years ago on Google
Very clean excellent for families and younger animal lovers. Great access to view the animals and new exhibits coming. One drawback is the prices for food at the restaurants. Other than that yes thumbs up

  • 1/5 GroveBoy75 3 years ago on Google
They had 4 animals out on opening night of their Christmas light display, but definitely charged full price to look at empty animal exhibits. (To your response: If you honestly believe that then why not just set the lights up in the large parking lot and save folks from wasting their time looking for critters?)

The zoo lights were nice. I went with my family and my two children loved it of course, but because of covid-19 it wasn't as Grand as it normally is. I love the zoo and I love what they do for animals and for conservation. The staff are always polite and helpful.

First of all $15 per person for anyone over 3!! This was for "the light show" @ 5pm tonight. Animals all asleep and a few lights here and their. Enjoyed the exercise and being with family.

A medium size zoo that packs in a lot of fun. A few exhibits are in need of updates but the animals seemed happy and well cared for. The burgers at Aldo's (I think that was the name) were large and very tasty. I thought they were pricey but actually pretty on par with similar places. Thanks to covid many things were shut down but we still had a great experience.

  • 1/5 Laura A. 3 years ago on Google
First time going and wasn't told that most animals wouldn't be out and that lots of exhibits would closed. Complete waste of almost $70.

El zoológico muy bonito, limpio y muy bien atendido. Había unas exposiciones que estaban cerradas, pero debido a la estación de invierno y por la pandemia. Todo en términos generales muy bien. Muchas gracias.

Relaxing and not too crowded. Not sure if that is due to Covid or that we went on a Monday but definitely recommend going. Wish we went during the spring in order to see all the animals but was still an enjoyable experience.

It was amazing the exhibits were beautiful. I love how close you can see the tigers, bears and the red pandas. We were able to see all animals me and my girlfriend loved it!

Really first rate zoo with beautiful habitats and meandering but clearly marked waking paths. Interesting exhibits with a wide variety of animals from local to exotic. Great food options throughout the park. Wonderful children's area with letting zoo, playground and merry go round. Great gift shop that's not overpriced like most. The Knoxville Zoo also hosts VIP member events, nighttime special events in a unique after-hours festival atmosphere. Great family fun!

Beautiful Zoo... animals look happy and well taken care of.... only real complaint... gift shops are priced high and need better selection.... they have a kids splash area... a booth right next to it sell shirts, flipflops, and towels.... but no shorts or trunks... missing out on easy sales.... and i checked all over their website .... no where on there said anything about no conceal carry... untill u get to the front gate... i rechecked the website... thankyou for the update... when i spoke with your office they could not find it either... so i filled out a paper for them... glad to see them get to it and add that info..

Got there @ 9 upon opening. Many animals weren't out to see till after 11. Plz post on web site good times to see the animals according to weather cleaning maintenance etc etc. Didn't get to see turtles or pandas@ all, that should be on web site as well. We did fall in love with Daisy & will be back to see her again all the way from Myrtle Beach SC!

This is a great zoo and not too far from home. We were visiting our son and just decided to go spend the afternoon. We got to see all the animals and it wasn't crowded at all. Would like to see more drink stands open or vending machines with drinks in them on a hot afternoon but we survived. The highlight of the day believe it or not was the king cobra. When I posted the pics on Facebook everyone all said that he would never come out of the pipe when they were there. He came out for us. Monkeys were fun to watch even though they weren't really active. They were just chilling out. Please give this place a visit and contribute to them.

I love the zoo! And this time I got to see it all! Well every animal except the camel and he was so entertaining when I was there in May! I'm so Grateful for the discounted pass price! I pray that's something they continue!

I love going to zoos. It is one of my favorite things because I have always been fascinated with animals. I had never been to the Knoxville zoo, until my boyfriend took me. Everyone was very kind and knowledgeable about the animals. The animals seemed very happy in their enclosures and were given everything they could ever need to live a long happy life.

  • 5/5 Lori M. 2 years ago on Google
This was our 3rd trip to the zoo. My grandchildren love it. The new ARC exhibit is A+. The zoo is just the right size for a fun day trip. There were plenty of misters and free sunscreen stations. There is a splash pad and kids play area. Great experience

We went to the zoo for my birthday and got there at opening. The animals were all out eating and we got to see everything on show. The buildings were open and they ask you to wear a mask but was not enforced. Which I was fine with. There was schools there on field trips and the places was so big we never really ran into a crowd of kids at any exhibit. The rhino was standing so close at the fence you could touch them.

  • 5/5 Jeremy L. 2 years ago on Google
This was definitely on par with what I was expecting, lots of cool animals and a nice clean layout with neat extras like was mold figurine makers throughout the zoo and an awesome carousel as well. My daughter was very thankful to celebrate her birthday here!

We are in TN for the first time and looking for some things for everyone. My wife and I thought that the zoo would be a great place for our toddler and we were correct She LOVED the red panda, tiger, and lion. The kept asking to go back in a very cute way. She really enjoyed waking from place to place. As an adult I thought it was a great place but severely lacing. I totally understand that we are in “off season” and there are several missing attraction, but there was no camels, turtles, reptiles, rhinos, zebras, and more If we were given a discount to compensate for pacing attractions that would be nice but full price and missing several items causes me some heart burn. A 5-10 discount would be nice but it is what it is. Other than that it was a nice and clean location that my daughter loved. It was about 4 miles to walk the entire location (of items open) and took about four hours to do so…toddler speed lol

We really enjoyed our visit in the evening for the Christmas lanterns. The lanterns themselves were so bright and colorful! The staff was so helpful and friendly. There were even a couple of Red Pandas out at night that we were able to watch. For young children, there were light-up necklaces and headbands for sale. We plan on making this a regular stop for our Christmas activities each year.

Not too small, not too huge of a zoo. Pretty good way to spend a couple hours. Animals are well cared for and enclosures look like they’re sized well. Events like the night time zoo lights for winter are nice, but it’s a sort of small zoo so there isn’t a great overarching sound system throughout or space for stages for performers.

  • 5/5 Brandi-Ann P. 2 years ago on Google
It was very cold and wet from the nights rain, but my son and I love the zoo always! We visited ARC in the middle of our day, and since it's a climate controlled building for reptiles, we thawed out and had enjoyed looking for each animal. We especially enjoyed sitting with one of the male tigers...always a joy 😊

  • 5/5 Rich C. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic Zoo!!! We went during winter and it was cold but hardly anyone there and got to see all the amazing animals. Tigers and Elephants were our favorites, and I believe this was my son's first experience seeing and Elephant. The most amazing part is the wax animals for $5, I remember these from the zoo when I was a kid, very nostalgic for me to get for my kids and that wax smell! We will be back!!!

  • 5/5 Robert H. 2 years ago on Google
We went to see the Zoo Lights. While we would have loved to have seen the animals ad well, they were all gone or put away, so do not expect to see any animals on your Zoo Lights trips. The lights however were great. It's was worth the price of admission and I highly recommend it. We will come back and see the Zoo another time.

Home to more than 800 animals and in the heart of Knoxville, the zoo is a favorite for any age. There are plenty of restrooms and benches throughout the park to relax and enjoy the animals. I love love love the new ARC campus for the reptiles. I also love the tree house exhibit by the gibbons and red pandas.

Very cool zoo! A little weird to navigate (imo), but loved seeing the elephants and a few other animals that we don't see at our zoo back home in Indiana. Was disappointed to see they got rid of the camels, but other than that we really enjoyed it!

I heard about the Knoxville zoo from the staff at the hotel I was staying at, so I decided to come here on my last day in the area. I unknowingly visited on a school holiday, so it was pretty crowded. Needless to say the zoo had a lot of attractions and very friendly service. The line to see the lion cubs was insanely long, but goes pretty fast. I didn't get a chance to eat here, but the gift shop is very large with a nice variety of items. Would highly recommend!

I’ve grown up coming here since the early 90’s. Lots of great memories. We came here last week for my sons field trip and I was wondering where most of the animals were. We didn’t see any: elephants, giraffes, zebras, only saw one exhibit with otters (other exhibit empty), beavers, land turtles, snakes, bears, and frogs. The tiger and lion was so far away you couldn’t even see it. We did love the dinosaurs and picnic space. Very few animals seen. We also used to come for Boo at the Zoo yearly but stopped last year due to getting only a few pieces of candy and not being able to see many animals. I think I’d more animals were put in there it would be fantastic! We really really miss the penguins! I am super sad they are gone.

  • 5/5 George 1 year ago on Google
Family loved viewing the animals today. Clean facilities and we were able to see everything but the tigers. Food was nice at Safari Smokehouse. It was a very fun day making memories with our family. We went ahead and bought the year long pass too.
