One of the best places to hangout with friends, and quite an ideal place to go solo especially if you want a quiet place to relax your weary head. The views and scenery are amazing, where you get to enjoy nature within the city. The place is big to walk around and have a number of benches scattered all over to sit and enjoy your time. The place is neat and well managed. You'll have the opportunity to try out some exciting events like the canopy walk and high ropes (my favourite; you'll love it). The kids are equally taken care of with an eventful playground. This was my first visit and the memories are priceless. It's a place I'll love to go more often.

I used to love this place so much but now it’s just become quite expensive. It used to be free entry and paid activities but now you pay for every single thing. I’m surprised I didn’t have to pay to use the washroom Nevertheless it’s a great place for kids and adults alike. Spent a couple of hours there and it was fun. We tried the canopy walk, the canoe ride and the rope course. Please note that the rope course has a height requirement The canopy walk was unsupervised I think that should change. The guide paddling the canoe didn’t seem to appreciate us asking questions about the birds and stuff we were seeing which was weird. The staff seem very nonchalant for the most part They have a big clean bathroom with small tiny toilets for kids! I thought that was so cute and good for the kids You can find water and drinks on the premises but for snacks and food you will have to walk out. There are restaurants and gas stations right across the road Attached the activity and price list. Be sure to take a good look at it before you go. Lol.

Most of the garden was closed because of maintenance, but the children’s playground was open so we went there. The children loved everything there. Will make it a whole day trip next time and bring food and drinks so we can stay most of the day. It was really nice there ☺️ Clean toilets with toilets and wash for kids.

One of my favourite places! Serene. We got in early on Farmer’s Day holiday and enjoyed the playground for about an hour, before the playground got busier. There’s something for all children to do; toddlers up to teenagers. Cool weather because of the many trees. Good for retreats and meet-ups too.

This is beautiful and calm. The canopy walk was the best part of this for me. Visiting Ghana 🇬🇭 this is a must visit. Make sure you get food after all the Adrenaline rush. We didn’t get a canoe 🛶 ride because the guy was a bit harsh on us apart that it was a cool experience.

Overall a great experience. There are a lot of activities to keep especially your kids entertained. The canopy walk is a must along with the boat ride. Apart from the entry fee, all other activities are reasonably priced. Their spacious environment allows for a lovely walk or picnic without the noise of urban Accra.

Been here before and it was mad fun, especially with the obstacle course. The gardens, the boat ride, the canopy walk, the children's park are all fun activities available for the whole family. . Hope to o back again soon even if it's to just sit back, relax and take in nature. I noticed some of the ropes in the obstacle course was new, so it's obviously being well managed and it's very safe.

This place is very unique, if you love nature and the outdoors this is the place to go to in the city to relax without having to travel outside of Accra to have a good time. They have canopy walk, zipline, kids playground etc. They have monkeys, exotic birds, egrets who are all wild etc. The staff is professional and the place is clean . Their rates are reasonable compared to other places I have visited and it is at a very convenient location close to public transportation. Its a great location for weddings, parties, church activities, people with kids, or romantic dates.

It’s a pretty relaxing place to be in the busy part of Accra, but not entirely quite as it seems. The Legon Botanical Gardens can boast of over inclusive activities for both adults and children ranging from the boat ride, canopy walk, junior rope course, biking just to name all at affordable amounts. The various activities are scattered across the gardens, the lake stretches out under the canopy walk, next is the woodlands then you move to the playground area. The woodlands section is good for picnics and cute seating or lay back on a mat to read a novel. Also, it has a beautiful bamboo bush and a location suitable for vides and photography. My biggest concern was the lack of enthusiasm of workers because ordinarily, when you enter such places there are people to welcome you and ready to attend to you at your activity points which was not the case.  The facility is a good location for picnic and learning of tress as they have them marked and well labelled, wedding receptions and any kind of outdoor event. All you have to do is call and make a reservation for such events. Note, you can bring your pets to the garden but make sure they are on leash at all times and you have their poop collectors.

Great place to go on picnics, to go with the family and the kids. Corporate events can be held here as well. This will be a great place to host park and watch. It's pure fun here and you get to connect with nature in the city!! You shall need tickets to enter and you pay for each activity as well. Entrance ticket is ghs15

It's such a lovely place to unwind. Has a great park for picnic and playground for kids. It was fun on the canopy walkway and I enjoyed the canoe ride as well. I'm definitely going back to do the rope course as my outfit was not appropriate for it.

The garden is naturally beautiful in its nature with a couple of fun activities like the canopy walkway and high ropes. In my opinion, I don’t think the high ropes area is supposed to be a smoke free area as it is mostly occupied by teens. Also, the security at the children’s playground boldly tells you that you don’t have to be there if you don’t have kids. Some people just love to be around children and this could be a way of shying tourists away. If it’s for security reasons, it doesn’t mean people with kids cannot harm as well. It’s generally a nice place, I had loads of fun regardless.

Place of fun and beauty. Fun site include canopy walk, rope course, canoe riding, children's park. There is also a vast array of greenland for retreats, day outs and photoshoots. The natural environment adds to the cozy experience. An entrance fee is paid currently at Ghc15 per head for both children and adults. (If children will use the park, they are charged Ghc 25.). Entrance fee paid are separate from the other facilities. Eg if you will want to go on the rope course, you pay an extra Ghc 40/70(for 2 or 4 courses respectively) in addition to the gate fee of Ghc 20. My overall experience was great!

Felt more like a really nice, lush park than a botanical garden, but definitely a nice environment to hang out in for a while. I can easily recommend a stop here if you're anywhere in the area. Oh, and the staff are great, too. Part of the park was under construction, so I didn't see all of it. And while it's peaceful, you can still hear the traffic from the road. The Canopy Walkway looked like fun. I was already tired from a day of urban hiking, so I didn't do it, but it looked like a mini version of Kakum's Canopy Walk.

If you love nature then this place offers that. There is a children's playground so if you have children you can actually bring them there for them to have a good time. There's also a restaurant close by for you to grab a quick bite. Before you enter you pay and there are several activities you can do as well but you will have to pay before you are allowed. If you want to take professional pictures with a digital camera you will have to pay as well. The place is cool tho and a good place to relax and enjoy nature.

20 GHS entrance fee into the garden. It's a nice green area with opportunities to sit (benches), to climb on a tree parcour and enjoy a canopy walk (the two latter at a cost). One can buy water and snacks.

Canopy is nice, the birds, some trees but if you saw the parks outside Africa, it's not worth the distance and the time unless you have it plenty and nothing to do

Great for kids or teenagers, but for young adults the canopy walk or short canoe ride is not that exciting. But I will recommend to spend time here during a hot afternoon in Accra, they were ti was brought up, you will find loads of shades and a mice breeze in most of the garden

I visited with my little brother and we really enjoyed the place. They had beautiful sceneries and very polite staff. We first did the canopy walkway and then we went for the canoe ride. I later had to take him to the playground so that he can have fun and make new friends which he actually did. The reason why I am rating them 3 stars is because of how relaxed they were about the COVID-19 PROTOCOL lol. At the entrance there were new tissues to use after using your hands you literally have to end up closing the tap with the hands you’ve just washed so the question becomes what’s the essence. There is no one at the entrance giving sanitizers or making sure people wash their hands and mask up while entering yes there is an inscription that say “ NO MASK NO ENTRY” but there is no one there enforcing it. My second reason for rating them a 3 star is because you have to pay for every single activity you take there and that has actually made the place quite expensive for the average person who would just want to come there with their kids and have fun. At least if they charge a fixed rate say 50 cedis or less per person for access and use of the facility that would be better because kids love to be adventurous so if parents are know that using the facility will cost a fixed amount that would be better rather than going there and having to pay for every single activity. In all it was a nice experience I’m only glad my little brother had fun and made friends😊 NB. I only made him take off his mask when we had to take pictures 😁

Payment at the entrance was a hustle. Plenty back and forth. Had to go to the office twice before payment could be sorted. Zenith ATM at the entrance also not working. You need to work on making payments efficient. I feel the fees charged for utility should be looked at as well. The officer in charge sounded confused with the billing. The place is lovely I would opt for more food vendors in vantage locations

I think this garden is more like a park than a botanical garden. There are quite a few trees but only a few trees have labels displaying their names. There aren’t flowers or plants or a variety of interesting trees to look at. Other than the canoe, canopy walk, and ropes course, there isn’t that much to see/do except for walk around the garden. Apart from a small pond near the entrance, the landscaping could improve which would improve the overall feel of the garden. I think there is major scope for improvement to make the most of the vast garden and make it more appealing to those interested in botany and horticulture. Otherwise the park is clean, a nice place to have a picnic with friends, and a good place to take a walk.

I am visiting from the States and attending this event with a friend and the dance company he performs with. This facility is beautiful with multiple activities for everyone! The grounds are perfect for gatherings of the sorts. However, the facility seemed more about engaging the community than on botanicals.

Scenery is beautiful. For relaxing and hangouts with friends and family. Rope course is challenging enough so you must try it once you go there.. location for canoe ride can be improved upon. Highly recommendable staff too. Pricing is not that bad either ... check out the photos for the various prices.

If you're looking for a "raw nature" experience, Legon Botanical Gardens isn't bad. I think it could certainly be so much better with a lot more maintenance, more staff, more activities and attractions! The obstacle course and canopy are really cool though 😇

Used to be a beacon of natural ambience in the bustling city enclave around legon, haatso and other communities. Currently a pale shadow of its original self. Still has a canopy walk and some poorly maintained grass for visitors though. Apart from ticketing staff, place appears to be loosely manned and basic amenities are no where in sight. A shame as this was fast on its way to becoming a serene getaway for nature lovers.

Fun place for family day out, they have something for everyone, from canopy walk to the rope course and play ground. The instructors are very friendly and fun, general entrance fee is 20.00.per person, but there is a discount for groups. Canopy walk 30.00per person and 50 for 2 rounds of the rope course and 80 for the four course. Generally it’s a good place to have picnics, photoshoot and relaxation.

I always recommend these gardens for visitors coming to Accra because I always have such a great time and the activities are very affordable! The rope courses are challenging and a great team-building/fun activity for groups of people to do together. The canoe ride is quick and relaxing, and the hanging bridge is my favorite part being over the trees and overlooking Ghana’s nature. It is a serene, quiet and lush environment for families and suitable for all ages. Monday and Tuesday are less busy as no activities hold. Activities include canoeing, canopy walk, fishing and many more. Using the tro tro (local bus) to locate was difficult but with Uber, it was simple.

  • 2/5 Jordan B. 1 year ago on Google
Don’t bother on a Monday. Also, highly recommend Aburi Botanical Gardens, it’s further from the city but if you’re looking for an authentic botanical garden, have a tour guide show you around there. As for Legon; Everything from the canopy walk to the boat rides is closed on Mondays for Maintenance. Not sure how far you have to walk to get to the botanical part of the area but either with a lack of signage or because there felt like nothing to do besides stop at the playground for the kids to enjoy, overall we left after 40 minutes. Disappointed that that was our experience but definitely wouldn’t want to go back anytime soon. Overall, it just wasn’t fun.

Wonderful place just next to a Legon campus. It's very calm and peaceful with a lake where birds nest and termite nests all over. Various kinds of trees grow there and it's really a calm haven in otherwise very busy Accra. Enterance from street is 20cedi, from campus is free.
