Amazing! If your wondering if you should visit, the answer is yes! What a great museum! Clean, bright, well laid out, easy to follow. You will get a clean pair of headphones that play all the video clips showing on the screens in each display. We spent 4.5 hours here, our kids enjoyed it too. Their favorite was the Experience Room where you can play a variety of instruments. We also were lucky enough that we caught an impromptu concert in the patio by the Navy Southwest Brass Band. The museum was packed, but never felt crowed. Other then a few annoying people shouting conversations out loud, it was a great overall experience. Staff were all super kind and friendly. Great value!

Very interesting, informative and fun museum. Music, as an expression of the human spirit and experience is celebrated throughout the MIM. Regardless of your personal music experiences, or talents, there will be something inspirational for you to discover here. From early, almost prehistoric, examples of humankind's innate need for expression through some sort of music...from all around our little blue planet... to classic and modern instruments, you'll enjoy experiencing your visit.

This is a wonderful place, not just for musical instruments, but also history and geography and cultures from around the world. Each country display has a map where the country is located, and instruments (and costume /dress) used in that location. The headphones will link to the videos playing on that display screen, which show a few clips of the music in that region, using the instruments you see on display. There are also displays of musical instrument manufacturers, and displays of each kind of instrument. There is a coffee shop and an outdoor area where there was a live performance that day. The outdoor area is gorgeous, with covered tables, shaded trees areas, water features and landscaping. You are not permitted to carry water or any food or drink through the museum. I had to check my water bottle at the front. Everyone working was very kind, friendly, and helpful! One lady told me that they have live performances most nights of the week. It is more affordable to buy the membership if you plan on going more than once - which would be great to see more! There is so much here, I had to miss areas since I was only there for 2.5 hours. Overall wonderful place with a wonderful atmosphere!

This is one of my favorite museums ever. It displays a very extensive collection of musical instruments, separated by country and, in a few cases (say, huge countries like China and India), by regions within the country. You get an audio device that automatically tuned in to a given TV set for that country/region. Each TV loops through a few (3 to 5) short videos showcasing the instruments in the display area. Very effective in giving you an idea of how that the musical heritage of that area is all about. Highly recommended when in Phoenix. Make reservations for a specific entry time.

Easy to find and access. The headsets were helpful so each person could individualize their visit. Beautiful exhibits. Helpful staff, who made sure headsets were working. Very interesting and well worth the cost. Lots of bathrooms. Definitely family friendly.

Don't try and listen to every display, work your way through the whole museum and circle back for displays you are especially interested in. Pace yourself it's huge. Also I would buy the add-on, they are pretty much covered in the main Museum.

What a wonderful place! The exhibits are so beautifully arranged. I was nervous about coming with my 6 year old, but especially my 3 year old. The staff was so understanding and patient! We spent most of our time in the experience gallery. There are so many instruments from all around the world for everyone to try playing! It was amazing!

The musical instrument museum was well organized and thoughtfully laid out it included a variety of instruments from every and any country you could think of! We were there 2 hours but you could easily spend 3 hours there. We were directed to start with the Asian and African exhibits progressing to Europe and the United States. I would have liked to spend more time in the European and United States exhibits. Next time I will start there first. Highly recommend going here.

This was our favorite attraction on our trip to Scottsdale! It’s only a half hour away in Phoenix and a must see for a music lover! They have an extensive collection of instruments from all over the world and from famous music composers and musicians. It’s a guided audio tour so you can listen to the music and sounds of the instruments and various cultures while you watch the monitors. It was such a fun learning experience. They have some instruments downstairs for you to try to play and helpful guides throughout. We were there for 3 hours and felt like we could have stayed longer to finish it all. One guide told us the whole tour is 6 hours. Well worth the price! There’s also regular concerts held in their music hall. We weren’t able to see one the week we were in town but next time we come I’d check their schedule for that experience. They also have exhibits that change like the acoustics feature now. We had such a great time here we would definitely come back again

Impressive all around! I only had 1hr to explore this museum. Ideally you need 3-4hrs to truly appreciate what this museum has to offer. From the history of instruments to different cultures, this museum showcases it very well. I highly recommended it if you’re in Scottsdale.

OMG!! I read a lot about travel and in one article this museum is rated as the BEST museum in AZ. It's so unique in its offerings that I think it's one of the best museums ever. We paid an additional fee for an exhibit about masks and that was worth the up charge as well. To say that this place is filled with musical instruments from all over the world is an understatement.......some are so very old and some are left to imagination. Each geographic area is represented and videos accompany demonstrations of the instruments as well as some cultural history, etc. We spent almost 5 hours in the museum and will visit it again when we come back to Phoenix.

I never knew there was this amazing museum in Phoenix. This incredible experience is truly a treasure and was one of the highlights of my trip. The displays are all fun to see and the audio experience works great. I feel like I learned a ton and had fun exploring so many different types of music and cultures. I definitely need to come back here with my wife and kids.

Wow! Had such a fantastic time here. There are instruments from all over the world grouped by country or genre. You get audio devices that let you listen to the music from each section as you pass along. There’s a room of interactive instruments at the end by the cafe. The museum is well curated and organized. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Phoenix.

Wow! Love, love, LOVED this museum!!! It was a GREAT experience that I recommend everyone to go to. It’s probably best for ages 7+ just so they can appreciate the museum. It’s very interesting how the headsets work, and you’ll understand more when you go. The exhibits are amazing, and the instruments are very interesting. The museum is made even better with the audio clips for each country/region they focus on. It’s so expansive, that I’d recommend a good 3.5 to 4 hours to be able to have enough time to really absorb everything. I was there for around 2 and a half hours, and still wasn’t able to go through all of it. Overall, I’d really recommend going to it if you’re in the Phoenix area and if you have a good half of your day to spend there.

This was very educational. Much enjoyed the audio sample of each instrument or song on the wearable headsets. Our highlight was we walked to the auditorium and there was a digital piano playing on stage and like magic, it played our favorite song.m!! We where the only 2 people in the auditorium which made it extra special! Thank you to the staff that thought of creating that extra experience..

one of the nicest museums we've been to in years. wow. it's gorgeous. love the headphone set up. we should have started in the instrument room where kids can play and touch the bells and drums...they loved that part. i loved the player pianos. only bummed when we bought the tickets they didnt tell us the HUGE Instrument that plays at 9a/1pm..that it only ran like twice a day. we would have bee lined for that. but we had no idea so we missed it. kinda bummed. no military discount ..it was expensive for a family of 5. i understand why (it's beautiful) but it was probably too much for an average family to afford for 2-3 hour visit unless they REALLY wanted to which we did. would be neat if they added a musical road outside somewhere (felt like there was a straightaway somewhere around) like they have out in California.

We did not get to all of the exhibits. I had a wonderful time here. I recommend starting early. My daughter and I entered at 10:30 and we left at 5:00pm. You need 2 or 3 whole days to get through everything. We enjoyed seeing all of the musical instruments and reading the history of the instruments. Great experience!

Wow - what an incredible experience! I had no idea what to expect and suffice to say I was completely blown away. Basically any possible instrument that you can every imagine, you can find here. I would plan on spending a minimum of 3 hours if not longer. I also enjoyed the volume of interactive options - it was really cool to not only be able to see the instruments but also play some of them! Free and easy parking too.

This is one of the best museums that we've visited! Visitors get a headset that pairs with videos at each display. We spent 4 hours on the main floor, and there was still more to see! They have a big room with hands-on instruments for exploration and experimentation as well as a cafe and a restoration viewing area on the main floor. The upstairs features the history of music and instruments from every continent. It was definitely worth the$20 admission.

Very cool place to learn about music and dance culture from all over the world. And to see some iconic musical instruments and outfits worn by some of music's greats . My only drawback is some of the best items they kept in a separate room and charged an extra fee . So I didn't go in to see that .

Really can’t say enough about this place. I’m not even a Musical person, but I was just blown away by this museum. Way larger than I expected, with absolutely beautiful grounds that can be enjoyed when the weather finally breaks! Not only will you see a vast variety of instruments, But also outfits and costumes worn by stars. So many historical instruments, beautifully arranged by region, as well as by instrument type. If I, as a non-musical person loved it, I cannot imagine how much a musical person will enjoy this place.

An absolutely incredible museum. They have the largest collection of musical instruments in the WORLD!!! The exhibits are all done beautifully and the headphones that you wear that automatically connect to each exhibit while walking around enables you to hear the most beautiful sounds. Great place to spend a few hours and get lost. I highly recommend!

There is so much to see here! The audio box with headphones provides a guided tour with a lot of information. There is a room with many instruments that can be played and touched, but the museum overall isn't ideal for young children. Recommended for anyone interested in musical instruments and history. Very large collection from all over the world.

What can I say other than this World Class Museum is second only to the Louvre Museum in Paris. We spent four hours here which flew by and still have more to see and experience. The headsets are cutting edge and included with admission. They automatically detect what you're standing in front of and start telling you about it or letting you listen to the music. I never realized there were so many beautiful ways to make music in the world.

If you can only go to one place in Phoenix this is the place to go. Absolutely the most value for the entrance fee. Every display comes with video and audio of the instuments displayed. It is almost an overload of music since there is just so much from across the globe. Plan on at least three hours just to scratch the surface. Fantastic.

YES! One of the coolest place to visit while living or visiting Arizona. Block out 2-5 hours for this place. A lot of information and you are able to see instruments from around the World. Everyone should visit this place once in their lifetime. Many famous musicians have things in this museum.

Absolutely fascinating place to learn about different cultures through their music and musical instruments they play. The interactive headphones (at each exhibit) worked flawlessly! You can get close and see just everything well. About 3+ hours, with a coffee break in the cafe was perfect. I didn't see or absorb everything, but will have to come back again.

Incredibly well organized museum with so much to see. We spent 5 hours and would love to go back, as we didn't see it all. Extremely interesting. I especially like that they often had displays of local traditional costumes that acompanied the musical instruments. The headphones that they give you are location activated to play music of the instruments that you're looking at in the displays. Highly recommend!

This place is MASSIVE! I spent 4 hours here and still didn't see everything because I had to leave to get to lunch reservations on time. I could have easily spent 5-6 hours which is so worth the cost of admission (which is well priced!) Even being there on a Saturday mid-day, the place is so spread out that it feels empty while walking around. I highly recommend but definitely give yourself the full operating hours to leisurely get through everything.

Perhaps of the best gallery I've gotten an opportunity to visit. On the off chance that you appreciate music in any way, I'm certain you'll partake in the displays, however it's particularly fascinating on the off chance that you're a performer. There are instruments from well known performers, everything being equal. My undisputed top choice displays exhibited instruments and melodic styles of basically every country on the planet. You can without much of a stretch put in two or three hours here. Note that you get a headset and a collector that permits you to pay attention to music all around the exhibition hall; this could be tangible over-burden for some.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. And sensational. Hundreds of years of history in a single building. Free parking. $20 per person to go and see music history over the past 1000 years and by continent. Truly inspiring and worth the drive to north Scottsdale. Make sure to spend at least a few hours there to really experience this place. Great food, too! The special exhibit was not worth it but the cost was very low so no regrets. But I do recommend you avoid the upsell

What a gorgeous museum, beautiful inside and out. You will need at least 2hrs. So understand the younger children may get bored. They offer a room on the first floor for the children to play with some of the instruments, adults too. We enjoyed it very much.

What a pleasant surprise for me and my family. I visited MIM during Teacher Aappreciation week and enjoyed free admission and a gift catalog which was of very good quality. We were an all-adult group of 4 and we had a blast! The exhibits were organized by region, and we walked around the world learning about music and history. Some exhibits were interactive videos with audio headsets. We did the self-guided tour. A lot of walking, but there were plenty of seats to take a break. The experience room was a unique place where visitors can try playing all kinds of instruments. The museum restaurant, Cafe Allegro, did not disappoint. We all purchased some unique items in the gift shop. Give yourself plenty of time. Our group spent 5 hours there !

Considering that the museum is of musical instruments, it is larger than I expected it to be. Very immaculately curated with instruments from every corner of the world. The geographic arrangement along with a proximity enabled audio tour is well orchestrated. As soon as you arrive at a display your audio tour connects to the correct audio allowing you to hear the instrument being displayed. Fading as you walk away only to connect to the next display. Very well done! One could spend a full day easily. We did. A must see if you are visiting Scottsdale.

Overall, it was a pretty terrific experience. The layout got a little bit repetitive after a while, but each display was extremely informative. As a committed musician, I could appreciate it, but isn't the sort of place you visit again and again. That being said, the Musical Instrument Museum is absolutely somewhere that everybody needs to visit at least once.

Very cool visit. First off though…this is a big museum. If you want to see and read and interact with it all..leave yourself at least two days. If you can navigate topically through it, a full single day. Well presented, good use of technology with their headsets. Hands on space for kids. Good was museum pricing, but really good and good quantities. Will be back for sure just to finish it!

While I love the galleries, my preschoolers only last a short while into what could be hours of seeing instruments (they cannot touch), and hearing music curated by culture and continent. What they do love, is the escalator, and a very cool room filled with all sorts of instruments they can pick up and play, in this room they will be entertained for an hour, maybe longer if we take a break to get a snack and ride the escalator again. Really an exceptional addition to our Valley's attractions, and the concert hall is an insanely intimate acoustical experience - I want to see all my favorite bands play here. This is one of my required memberships for summertime parenting in Phoenix.

Went after accomplishing a hike which was a nice way to unwind. There were so many fascinating pieces of history to learn and see. I really liked that they automatically give you a headset to listen as you move through the exhibits. Very well laid out and fun to see all the similarities across cultures.

This museum is fantastic! The flow of the museum is easy to follow. Great musicians at the shows! Skills and activities for the children and a large area for the kids and adults to play with the instruments. You will be enthused to play several instruments. Enjoyable for the Whole Family. It is Lovely to see how Music Transcends and Unites us all.

EXCELLENT!!! The museum is 1 of a kind. You need to see it if only once. Really takes probably 2 to 3 days to fully take it all in. Most importantly, it has one of the best concert venues in AZ. Smaller theater, great prices, every seat is a good seat and best of all --it has some of the best performances and performers from around the world. Every genre of music is represented at 1 time or another. They probably have concerts at least 300 days out of the year. Check it out and hurry up and get on their mailing list?.

The MIM has an astounding number of instruments in display. The galleries are grouped by continent, then by country. It's very well organized. We loved the near field technology used with the video displays that worked in conjunction with the headphones, so when you approach a video display the audio starts up, and when you move away it stops. Hearing a wide assortment of instruments combined with historic films was a fantastic way to bring the museum to life. I would rate 5 stars if the headphones were more comfortable.

I was doubtful this museum would really be as good as the reviews. I was wrong. Our only disappointment was not enough time to really experience it all. We started at 2:30 and tried to see as much as we could by 5pm closing. Next time I will plan at least two more hours. It has so much information and the displays are awesome. Listening with the headset let's you feel like you are in your own world. Can't wait to return.

This museum is amazing. The amount of media available to show you what the instruments sound like is nearly overwhelming. Each station plays multiple videos showing the instruments in use. Each person gets a personal listening device to watch these videos. All you have to do is walk up to a station and your device picks it up and starts playing it. In addition to the stations, there are interactive instrument sections where the younger patrons can use various string and percussion instruments. I have been here three times in my visits to Phoenix and I will go back again. Well worth the money.

I recently visited this museum for the second time. It is a superb museum well worth the price of admission. The exhibits are very well done. The set up with the headphones is what makes the museum so unique. I spent several hours just looking at all the exhibits in a single room. I highly recommend visiting this museum and consider it to be one of the most outstanding activities in Phoenix.

Had a great time, so much to look at (reserve at least 3 hours). Went with kids and they lasted longer than I thought, but broke down prior to seeing all. There is a room where you can touch and play some instruments, that kept the kids going.

Great museum with a different perspective. You can enjoy it as a music fan, a world cultures enthusiast, a history buff, or an engineering mind wanting to see how things work. It really is hard to see the whole thing in a day if you are engaged.

Of the 3 museums I visited (this one, Heard and Phoenix Art), this was by far my favorite. It lives up to the hype and other reviews easily! Massive museum that you could spend days at. Headphones are provided that interact with almost every exhibit providing sample sounds to tie exhibit to written information. And the interactive music room is grand!

Great place to see and hear the history of musical instruments. They have over 10,000! Put your walking shoes on and enjoy the journey!

We had read the stellar reviews but we didn't know what to expect. We spent almost 4 hours walking around and enjoyed every minute of it. Definitely a place for couples more than for kids. The exhibits were fantastic and very interesting. We especially enjoyed the artists gallery. Highly recommended!!

My daughter and I visited the MIM for the first time recently and we were blown away. The rich history and interactive opportunities were endless. We spent hours looking through the exhibits and had lunch in the little cafe, it was delicious. I highly recommend visiting early in the day to get the most out of your visit. Our favorite was the room with instruments from around the world. You get to hear music from each locations history and see how its evolved with the times.

This place is amazing. Plan to spend a long time and yet you will still need to come back. The headset set up that work when you walk near the screens is fantastic and a little magical since there are so many screens and it just works. The exhibits are phenomenal and so voluminous that it is a little overwhelming. I don't know why it took me so long to visit this place, but I will definitely be back.

Much better than you might think. I would say start downstairs with the artist room . When you finally go upstairs start at the United States room. If you run out of time at least for me you will have seen the best stuff 1st. Don't be afraid to go thru on a quick pass and then go back to the better stuff you want to see

We find musical instruments of almost every Country in MIM. It was a thrilling experience to see largest space allocated to India and to find three separate sections for Carnatic, Hindustani and Devotional music. They played videos of Brinda playing Veena and singing Carnatic music, Pandit Ravishankar playing sitar and Bombay Jayashree singing a devotional number. Some instruments are amazing.

This is a fabulous gem of a museum-- a must see place to go -- with the kids, friends, or by yourself. I plan on being a regular now that I've discovered it. Indeed, there's too much to see in only one visit. Go!

Very interesting and thought provoking museum. I came away from it with a renewed appreciation for music in all of its variations. The museum clearly put a lot of thought into how to present the universality of music. Don't skip the earphones. They automatically activate when you are in the proximity of each display so that you are listen to the sound of the instrument on display in front of you. Virtually every display also includes a video monitor showing skilled musicians playing the related instruments, also synched to your headphone. Loved that seemingly every country is represented. Highly recommend if you're in Phoenix.

A super interesting, one of a kind museum! We spent 5 hours here. My kids loved the experimental room where they could try different instruments. They were enthralled with all the exhibits and loved using the headsets to hear all the music. Great courtyard to bring a lunch and take a break in. Highly recommend a visit here if you are in Phoenix.

If you love music and the impact it has around the world this is the place for you. Has interactive displays of every continent from the instruments they use to some of the artists that come from these parts of the world. If you would like to play some of the instruments they have a lab where you can actually try drums, xylophone, gong, guitar just to name a few. Many helpful and friendly guides standing by to answer questions you may have regarding any of the hundred plus displays. They also have a on site cafe if you want lunch or a snack while on site. Plenty of free parking in their large parking lot as well. Was on site for four hours and could have spent more time looking at all the amazing and thought provoking displays from the different sounds of the world. Only slight negative in this highly dependent technology site their headset controller sometimes would not switch to the next display you come upon. One display you may not hear anything or have a delay of a few seconds before it switches. Would say this happened 10-15 percent of the time. Outside of this it was a fantastic experience for me and would highly recommend to either music lovers and those who are curious about their heritage's music development from the US to South America to Europe to Africa. Call it a United Nations of music!

I spent like 5 hours here. Lots to see and hear and learn. Also they currently have an orchestrion from Germany that is pretty entertaining so check that out. The gift store is very good too. My favorite parts: the interactive room where you could play some instruments you just saw, the Asia and Middle East area and the modern orchestra and jazz area. But every display was fantastic so it was hard to choose.

Excellent museum!! The building is beautiful with picnic tables and nice landscaping. Each exhibit is beautifully designed. I also loved the audio they have near almost every exhibit. The sheer volumes of instruments they have is almost overwhelming, but very educational and interesting. My husband loved the bagpipes. Would NOT recommend bringing kids under the age of 12. It's a museum.. lots of reading and no touching allowed. They do have a section where you can try out some instruments, but that's it for kids. A very adult oriented museum. We spent 7 extra dollars per ticket on the special exhibit which was on Congo, not knowing there is a HUGE Congo section upstairs. If I would have known they have SO much stuff from Congo upstairs I probably wouldn't have bought the extra ticket. I think this exhibit is changing Sept 2021, so it would be interesting to see what takes its place. We spent 4 hours here, and at that point were tired so we zoomed through some of the upstairs countries. Nevertheless we felt satisfied. Well worth a visit!

This place is absolutely amazing! It's not possible to see it all in one day, so plan for multiple trips. Wear comfortable shoes. There's a piano in the lobby that you can play! Check out the experience gallery where you get to play some of the other less common instruments! Drums, ukuleles, a celtic harp, various drums, a giant beautiful gong, and so much more!

This museum is awesome. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They give you headphones and you can listen to different types of music from all over the world as you observe their instruments and read about their culture highly recommend this museum for anyone it's one of my favorites I've ever been to

Incredible collection of musical instruments from around the world with detailed history. The headphones and audio box provided added immensely to the experience. As you walk through from display to display it automatically plays the sound and music from that display. We ended up spending about three hours here and didn’t fully experience everything. Huge collection of modern day instruments and artifacts like Johnny Cash’s suit and guitar and Taylor Swift clothing. Plus massive areas on the second floor from regions and countries throughout the world with traditional music. Amazing place that we’re already planning our next visit to see more of.

  • 5/5 Lenore C. 1 year ago on Google
This is a wonderful museum. We had only 2 hours spend so we barely saw a quarter of what they had. Admission includes a free headset that allows you to walk up to a display case and hear a trio of video clips of people playing some of the instruments in the display case. We visited the American section and and it was surprisingly deep including a wide array of Native American instruments and music, plus everything from banjo to Cajun and Zydeco, to a small but high quality jazz section. There was even a section dedicated to musicians with Arizona roots. The timeline stops abruptly in the mid eighties, though... the adjacent Canadian section is brief; the European section can't make up it's mind whether to cover folk or classical music, but the folk instrument collection is great, even if the videos need a bit of a refresh in some sections...can't wait to go back and tour Asia and Africa...

What a wonderful place to visit! I appreciated that each exhibit had video and audio to accompany each instrument. As a professional musician it was such a treat to see a place so involved in the preservation of instruments! Very kid friendly but I suggest you go to the room that allows them to try instruments first to allow energy to be burnt out! As an adult I still wanted to touch everything!

Great museum. Lots of rooms to visit with great exhibit and information. The museum is very entertaining because we carry an audio kit that picks up the music as we walk by, it’s very well done. I would recommend to come early as it gets crowded around 11am. Also plan a good 3 to 4 hours if you want to enjoy each rooms. Staff is as friendly and amenities are great.

  • 5/5 Chris M. 1 year ago on Google
Five well deserved stars. Beautiful displays representing every populated continent and most cultures. Costumes, videos and historical context compliment the many musical instruments. The museum is spotless and well staffed. Earphones are included with the admission fee and add considerably to the value and enjoyment of the displays. There are benches at regular intervals so you can rest your feet. The small restaurant offers food and drinks at reasonable prices (less than some coffee chains). MIM is worthy of being classed with national museums and offers international value.

We had fun with our infant. They have headphones and an exploration and play place for little ones. A great time for the whole family. Just wonderful. Worth buying the membership as you will want to come back over and over if you are a resident. And the restaurant is quite good and affordable.

What a fantastic museum!! Really loved going through each exhibit but I wished we had more time in okie schedule to see everything. There were free tours that happen every other hour, which is great, but they breeze through everything. My husband and I eventually broke away from the group so that we could take our time and look at everything. We’ll be back!!!

  • 5/5 Jeff N. 8 months ago on Google
WOW! What a museum! Spent 3 hours there and could easily have spent 3 more. Every exhibit is incredible and the headphones make it a totally immersive experience. If you haven't gone there, go! If you have, go again!

It was amazing. All 4 of my kids enjoyed it and wanted to go back. So much good information. I was most pleased that you had a sizable display for Elvis.

I can only speak for MIM venue. First time visit and WOW! Gorgeous, intimate room, every seat is great since it's pretty steep, the sound is just alive and dynamic and the musicians know and appreciate that. We saw Max Weinberg Jukebox, and it was a pleasure. Staff was nice as well, and parking is a plenty. I really appreciate the fact that the stated ticket price on the website is exactly what you pay. No Ticketmaster fees, etc. Thank you! Well done!

This was one of the coolest museums I have ever been too! It’s the Smithsonian of Musical Instruments! And it’s almost just as big. I was surprised when I pulled up on how big it really was. The whole upstairs is dedicated to international instruments. The downstairs has a celebrity section with some crazy names like Carlos Santana, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and more! I was in there for hours, and still didn’t see everything! They also had a really cool bluegrass exhibit when I went as well! I recommend this museum to anyone coming to the area, or in the area, or even if your a big music head like me! Included some images of the place as well! 10/10 place for all ages, and a really informative, yet fun experience as well!

After hearing many good things regarding this museum I finally had the opportunity to visit. This Museum features multimedia displays, with headphones provided, so patrons can get an audio idea of each country and its representative music. The museum is structured as a geographical world tour. Moreover, the museum offers insights into early electronic music, and has some booths dedicated to specific noteworthy performers. I would say plan on 2 to 3 hours minimum, and it is easy to spend an entire day here as the plethora of exhibits is vast. It wasn't overly crowded. This museum is recommended to visitors and residents alike, and is worth repeated visits. From a purely critical level, a couple of the exhibits didn't quite seem to match up with indigenous ethnomusicological characteristics of the area, although these instances were isolated.

Absolutely HUGE and FABULOUS museum. We brought family in from our of town and loved all the music world views. My favorite displays featured modern bands and rock music. Also - the gardens are surprisingly beautiful. Worth the entry price and more. 5 stars!!!

  • 5/5 Kelsey P. 5 months ago on Google
So much fun, the exhibits were amazing and you will never be able to see everything. I had a blast, the headset system was really cool. My favorite parts were most of the American exhibits, Africa, Middle East, and playing the big Gong in the experience room. Best museum ever.
