I really wanted to love this resort. Tucked away at the base of Camelback Mountain, it is the perfect blend of luxury and old-world charm. From the landscaping to the numerous common areas, it is absolutely beautiful, and although we had a bit of an air conditioning issue, the rooms are very spacious. The staff has clearly had training since many of these reviews were written because everyone - from the front desk to the pool attendants - was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The set up was perfect for our 15-year anniversary getaway. However, this hotel is also a wedding venue, and during our two-night stay, three weddings took place. The inconveniences began as we attempted to enter the resort and valet our car amidst numerous wedding guests. The front door was blocked for a photo op of the bride and groom, and because the event spaces were located outside, we felt like we were walking through a wedding reception anytime we walked around the resort. Initially, our room was literally five feet away from the reception space, so we asked to be moved. The management was very happy to oblige, but even in the new room, we heard music until late into the night, and the entire next day, both event staff and the wedding party continually walked along the path outside our "private" patio. For what we paid to have a quiet, romantic weekend, we left feeling disappointed. Long story short - if you want to get married, this venue seemed perfect, but if you are looking to stay as a guest, choose a weeknight or a different resort.

My wife and I have wanted to stay here for our anniversary for a few years now and finally did this year. I’m not going to lie, I had higher expectations for this property being a 5 star resort and for the cost (money/points) per night. It’s a beautiful property don’t get me wrong. But not much on site to do. The pool is small and when there’s a good amount of people there it can get crowded. The spa is beautiful inside, the men’s section is quite small but it gets the job done. Went to use the steam room and when I entered no steam was going, not an issue, turn it on and the water smelt like it had been sitting in a rotting pipe for days. My wife did say the women’s was great and smelt like eucalyptus. The room was clean and spacious, I work in the flooring industry so it did make me laugh to find a spacer still in the grout line in our bathroom 😂🤷🏼‍♂️ It was strange that a lot of items were left out and doors unlocked on the property. We went looking for ice and an electrical room was unlocked across from our room, a construction garbage can with rusted metal and other items was left in the hallway for over a day. Exit door facing the street was open for hours, pool mech door was always open with the lock dangling on the outside. Food plates and cups were left in a corner in the hall for awhile. Originally we thought housekeeping was going to collect them because it was by a cart but the housekeeping cart was left unattended for a few hours and then when it was collected the cups and plates remained on the floor. When my wife alerted the front desk to it the gentleman seemed more annoyed than anything. I worked for Hyatt for a time and fell in love with their properties. While I’m no fancy hotel critic I do believe in you get what you pay for and honestly I wouldn’t stay here for the price again.

My husband, Edwin, and I stayed here this last Sunday and Monday. The hotel is amazing. We had breakfast Monday morning in their restaurant. Jeffrey and Kim did a wonderful job. I was able to try two new foods thanks to Jeffrey's knowledge and patience. The location is perfect. After breakfast, we walked down the street and up the mountain for a magnificent view of Pheonix. Staying here gave me a magical experience that I will never forget.

The room is beautiful and almost perfect (watch out for the complimentary things in the room they do charge if you pull anything off the mini bar). The best service you can ask for. The receptionist and valet were both very helpful and friendly. This location has great resteraunts around the local area, especially breakfast and beautiful sites. The restaurant they have located within the resort is outstanding as well. Highly recommend.

Fantastic resort! Clean, beautiful, and some of the best staff. Between Barbra, Jennifer, Damian, Alexandria and Anthony we had an amazing time. Barbra showed us our room after their lovely valet and bell man helped us out. She knows the history of the hotel and is so sweet and remembers you during your stay. Jennifer was our server for breakfast twice, she’s so kind and attentive. Damian at the bar was awesome and so much fun to chat with, plus drinks were amazing. And Anthony at the pool, cannot say enough. He’s awesome! Kind, sweet, attentive, and was wonderful to have all day at the cabana. Highly recommend the cabana, the service is phenomenal. We never had a bad meal or drink on the property. Room was very clean and spacious. Grounds were clean and quiet, even with a wedding one evening taking place. If we needed something the staff was quick to drop it off in our room. By far one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Thank you to the amazing staff for making our trip so wonderful.

Beautiful boutique hotel located in a great part of Scottsdale. Wonderful service and overall vibe. The staff was exceptional and there were so many nice touches (text access to the front desk, champagne at check in, etc). The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at any Hyatt property (I’m a globalist so I’ve had my fair share!) The grounds were well kept and unique. The only knock against the resort is that it is a little older so one has to accept that the rooms and buildings have an older feel (still very clean). I embraced that as part of its old world charm.

We had our wedding there this past weekend and it was just amazing!! The staff and the service really just did an amazing job. One little mix up with the room but they resolved that as fast as they could and made the whole weekend and wedding experience just top notch. The guests told me as well that if you needed something they were on top of it. We were just SO impressed with everything! Service, Staff, Food, Grounds, Room. If your thinking of getting married, this is the place to be! 5++++ Stars. THANK YOU Royal Palms for a FABULOUS Weekend!!

We had a nice long weekend at the Royal Palms, however I don't think the property really competes with the other 5 star resorts in the area. Our room felt a bit dated and dingy, I was particularly unimpressed with the bed and bedding. The grounds are beautiful, I love the natural landscape in AZ. The pool area is very small, and the chairs easily fill up. Not the right resort if you are interested in hanging by the pool for a good portion of your vacation. We asked the front desk for where to go on a walk, and they provided us with directions with a nice loop around the neighborhood - but it did require half a mile on a busy road with no side walk...

We checked this out as a venue for our daughter and her fiance's wedding. It is so beautiful and elegant. The grounds are lush and the indoor/outdoor rooms are tres elegant. This is my 1st pick....but luckily it isn't my decision to make. There are so many gorgeous venues in Phoenix. If you are planning a wedding or a function be sure to consider Royal Palms!

Amazing! We were looking for a staycation and this was perfect. Right away we were walked to our room which was so nice not having to find it on our own. We also had our baby with us and we felt like it was very accommodating for him. The pool staff were great especially Anthony. He went above and beyond for us. The property is so beautiful. Will definitely be back.

The location and property is beautiful! We were disappointed in the room. It was very small and the mattress was not comfortable(forced to roll to the middle). There was a really bad dry wall job in the bathroom above the tub. I also think the price should be lower in December when it’s too cold to enjoy the grounds; pool, etc.

The hotel service staff and their attention to detail was impeccable. If I were back in Phoenix, AZ I would book with them in a heart beat. Daisy, Joy, and Jesse collectively played a role in helping me and my partner's stay here special. Jesse if you're reading this, we were able to summit Camelback Mountain after our breakfast and I know you can too!

Absolutely gorgeous property nestled under Camelback Mountain! The historic property and its landscaping are remarkable & the words' location, location, and location are true to form here. Ten minutes from the airport & 5 minutes to Old Towne Scottsdale are such a bonus. The food & cocktails were great & brunch was awesome!!

Our son and his new wife had their honeymoon here. The room was beyond amazing. The grounds were GORGEOUS! The staff was absolutely wonderful in every way, but I really want to give a special thank you to Marissa, and also to McKendy and Barbara. Thank you all so much for making this an incredible experience for them!

This place was recommended by a friend and fully met my expectations. Stunning resort, just the right size if you’re looking to kick back without too much fanfare - on that note, the staff is absolutely lovely but does not fawn on you everytime you blink, which I find irritating in some luxury resorts. The restaurant’s ambience is warm and vibrant, and the menu offers healthy options. This was a short stay for us before our final destination, but I would love to come back for a longer stay.

I had a great experience here for the event! Love the old world charm of this place, and you feel like you have been invited to a (rich)family party. very fresh feeling compared to other new and boring establishments. Food is good, servers are nice. Maybe I’ll try the rooms next time.

Beautiful resort overlooking mountains, the courtyard here is beautiful with fountains everywhere and just full of life. The property itself I was originally told was from 1967, outside of the renovation and modern updates, which bring it up to date. Had a beautiful room with a jacuzzi tub and beautiful view overlooking the hills and mountains. The pool is open 24/7 which is amazing, very quiet resort with amazing service. I highly recommend this resort definitely will book there again, a amazing feeling you can't duplicate anywhere else! Book it now

We would like to thank the Royal Palms and Resort and Spa, for their amazing service and support during our wedding in July. It was a joy to work with staff like Sarah and Kailey. We had several obstacles that almost derailed our event but the staff at the Royal Palms Resort helped us with resources and solutions. Our five year dream to be married on the property was a dream come true. Thank you to our attendant Susan for being so observant of all our needs. The Royal Palms Resort makes the wedding process easy and enjoyable. Every time we met with Sarah we always felt at peace with our decisions. We highly recommend the Royal Palms Resort for all your elegant events. 10 out of 10

Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix, AZ. LOVED IT! The staff's professionalism and the venue's organization made it a dream to work in. They helped us with everything that we asked. The backdrop is studding for my photography and videography, and the seamless flow of the day allowed me to capture each moment effortlessly. Rooms are full of light which is very important for the getting ready shots. As a wedding photographer, I highly recommend Royal Palms for couples seeking an enchanting and well-coordinated venue for their special day.

This place is STUNNING. I’ve played violin here a few times and I LOVE the greenery here!! I feel like I’m walking through a maze of gorgeousness when I’m here. Ceremony and cocktail hour area is so gorgeous, one of the most beautiful wedding venues I’ve seen here in Phoenix and I’ve seen a lot!! I literally just want to come here and explore it’s so beautiful. Have your wedding here! You will not regret it!

We did not stay at the resort but dined at T Cooks. Everything about the entrance and surroundings is about as beautiful as a place can be. The service was just right, cordial and professional. BUT! I don't understand how such a poor cut of tenderloin can get out of their kitchen and onto my plate. Large streak of gristle running down the middle. My last Cosco steak was far superior. Fair to ask if I brought this up while I was there. No, I liked the flow of the evening with my friends and chose not to interrupt it. I have absolute confidence the restaurant would have made things right. But it begs the question of quality control in the kitchen for a $60 cut of beef. Still, an overall wonderful night was enjoyed by all.

Wish I would have booked a longer stay here. I booked this through the Amex fine hotels program and received an amazing room upgrade (amongst other things). We were greeted with champagne upon arrival and Mackenzie at the concierge desk was so kind and welcoming. The breakfast we had was wonderful, the rest of the staff were also very friendly, and the property was really well maintained. Can’t wait to visit again one day.

As a local wedding photographer, the Royal Palms is such an incredible venue. There are so many spots to capture photos everywhere you look. The view of Camelback Mountain and the palm trees is pretty iconic for wedding day photos. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. This is a great oasis for your big day.

Quiet, relaxing, unique getaway. The many courtyards, fountains, and pool provide plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy yourself and/or your company. The bar has some solid cocktails and T. Cooks restaurant was truly spectacular. Both with ample indoor and outdoor dining options. The architectural and design of this hotel is a one of a kind.

This resort is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is amazing and very helpful. My husband and I needed a quick getaway and this blew my expectations away. We decided on dine in from TCooks and it was by far the best steak I have had in a long time. Do yourself a favor and stay at Royal Palms Resort and Spa.

We were so lucky to find this beautiful resort the morning after my birthday night out partying. The Alvadora Spa at this location is incredible! The services we received (massage and pedicures) were worthy of the highest praise! Fine dinning at T. Cooks was also the most enjoyable experience I have had in Phoenix.

My stay was a surprise from my husband for our wedding night before our trip. What a gloriously beautiful place. The service, of course was impeccable. We were met with a glass of delicious champagne, shown to a beautifully appointed casita. Walking around the grounds was so peaceful. We enjoyed a delicious bread pudding in the restaurant and came back to a bottle of champagne and a plate of sweets waiting in it room with lovely petals on the bed was a perfect romantic setting. We can’t wait to go back.

Very beautiful resort and so so quiet. I stayed 4 nights with my husband for our anniversary and it was everything we were looking for. Quiet, small, and relaxing. The staff was friendly and our requests were met in a timely manner. We went to yoga Sunday morning and had a private session, Jennifer was wonderful.

I got a chance to stay here for one night before heading out to Sedona. I love how they make the hotel feel like home and welcoming for the guests. I felt like I was invited to someone’s home. My room was huge enough to spend one night that has a really nice deep bathtub. The friendly staff who made me want to come back to stay again. What I liked about is that in-room service can be made by text messages. I tried and it worked, they responded and brought food to the room quickly. Everything looked good except some areas in the room needed to be maintained. One of the faucets in the bathroom came loose. One of the room phones might have been broken that made low-frequency noise time to time that I couldn’t figure out where it came from until next morning. I wish I could have figured out before bed… The ceiling seemed to be thin but I also understand that this is a historic hotel. I’d love to come back and stay again.

Stayed here this past weekend as a quick local "getaway." Everything about the stay was fantastic. From the moment you drive in the cobblestone-type driveway, you're greeted by friendly the valet and shown to a comfortable and warm check in. Ava checked us in and made a great first impression. Warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Our room was great and overall the grounds are impeccably maintained and gorgeous! We enjoyed drinks at Mix-Up and later enjoyed the stunning pool. Nathan outside took great care of us. Iman brought us room service and was warm, friendly, and very courteous. His service capped off a great first day. The following day we had brunch at their onsite restaurant, T.Cooks which was also fantastic. Sadly, it came time to leave. One of the assistant directors, Ana, helped get us checked out and we appreciated her thoroughness in quickly reviewing our folio and confirming everything was in order. She also asked about our experience and how the rest of her staff took care of us, and we gave nothing but honest and outstanding feedback. Definitely come enjoy this wonderful property -- a perfect combination of relaxed luxury with service to match.

This place is gorgeous and sits at the base of camelback mountain. We’ve stayed here multiple times throughout the years but it has changed! The FRONT office managers BEYOND RUDE, We had issues and all ignored and displaced. Zero apologies We got in room dining - food was cold, rooms dated for the price. I could get past all Of this if the staff was helpful and welcoming. There are gorgeous hotels throughout the valley with extremely nice staff that go above and beyond during your stay. I’d look elsewhere for this price tag. With an overnight stay totaling over $2000 due to multiple Errors and zero help or direction for resolution - you can do better! Omni montelucia and the princess best out this property for the price tags

We absolutely loved this resort. We normally stay at the The Phoenician when we come to town (1-2 a year) but decided to stay here this time around. The resort is so cute and intimate, rooms clean and comfortable (we had a Terrace room which was nice as you could walk out from the balcony). They must treat their staff extremely well as i have never stayed anywhere where the staff are so happy and kind. The only reason I am not rating this a 5 star is due to their billing. They charged me for pool drinks i didn't have, a breakfast that was included with my hotel package, mini bar charges I didn't incur and instead of refunding an item they doubled charged me. I spent a lot of time calling and being on hold to try and get a refund, was told i would be cc'd on a email to accounting (never was) and my refund was about half of what it should have been - at this point i don't want to spend another hour on hold trying to sort this out so not going to bother. Would recommend you VERY carefully inspect bill before leaving the property and get it sorted out there as it wont be sorted out after you leave. Other than the foregoing loved this resort and its staff.

We had the privilege of photographing wedding at the Royal Palms Resort. It was the absolute perfect place for this intimate wedding. This exquisite wedding venue is like walking into another world - so romantic. In fact, the fragrance of citrus groves, the beauty of the exotic flowers, and the sounds of fountains splashing around every corner would make a perfect backdrop for ANY wedding! And the FOOD! WOW!

Nice place, good food. Cool landscape. But the most ludicrous shuttle policy on earth. They say they'll drop you off at fashion square, and the driver always tells you to let them know to come pick you up, which They did for 3 days. Then they left my wife stranded there and then advised her they wouldn't come get her! The mgr said that's their policy. WTH? They were also rude when we asked to drop us at a restaurant 1 mile away! The staff is great,, the manager that's here is a bad reflection on hyatt and what was supposedly offered. Also, one night no iced tea, another no bread, another no short rib. They are clueless that the little things make the difference and run people off like us that spend thousands on resort stays. No wonder there's nobody staying here.. What a waste of a cool landscape. Unbelievable.

Absolutely one of my favorite resorts in the country. I was welcomed with the utmost appreciation and service upon arriving. From the architecture to the staff, the food, the cocktails, the spa, and my cuarto, my stay here was absolutely exemplary. My office is in Scottsdale so every time I fly in, I try to stay a few nights here to relax and unwind. I’m very much looking forward to my next stay here.

Excellent resort! It surpassed our expectations! If you can, opt for a villa, they're gorgeous and well worth it. Food and service at the restaurant and pool was excellent and we were treated like royalty, as we celebrated our anniversary. We will be back.

This is beautiful property. I have stayed at many resorts and hotels across this country over the years. I stayed at one of the Casitas. It is a historic landmark so the rooms may feel a little old school. There was a fridge, but it was a mini-bar. The A/C worked great and it was comfortable. The service was top notch. This property is very lovely though and we plan to come back regularly along with other family. Thank you for a great time.

Great location by the foot of mountain Camelback. The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. You think you are somewhere in Mexico. The stuff is pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are big, clean and well soundproofed. Dinning and bar option on site. We had a very good time

This was by far the best service and stay that my husband and I have ever experienced! We chose this resort to celebrate our anniversary and stayed for 3 nights/4 days. When we arrived, we were given a complimentary beverage during check in and then walked to our room by a sweet woman who also gave us a quick historic tour on the way. Our room was lovely and tucked away, which made it feel extremely romantic. The food at the restaurants is to die for and every server/bartender/staff member made us feel truly special. The property itself feels like a Spanish oasis and there's beautiful foliage and historic scenery all throughout. This was the perfect getaway for us and we will definitely be returning. We'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quiter resort that is geared more towards adults. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay one to remember!

The hotel is beautiful! Landscaping is fabulous. Every single employee we encountered from front desk, to bar, to restaurant, to landscapers, to spa, to valet, to housekeeping- everyone was very polite, smiled, helpful and very friendly. Rooms are very clean and the hotel room was quiet at night. We rested well and were very, very pleased with our recent 3-night stay.

Wonderful Resort! My wife & I stayed here for a virtual convention as well as our babymoon and we had a fantastic time. The pool was beautiful, well kept up, and the waiting staff was tremendous. Our room was great and the other guests were just as happy as us. There were not a whole bunch of kids running around and splashing so we were able to relax the entire time. The restaurant was great and the grounds is beautiful! We will make it a priority whenever we visit the area again to stay there! I would give it more than 5 stars if possible!

Bought a day pass for the resort so my kids could swim. Have an orthopedic boot on so I asked front desk for a hard chair since it is impossible to get out of the low pool lounge chairs. Gentleman at the front desk brazenly lied and told me they only have one type of chair. I asked him; "Does your restaurant only have pool loungers?" Luckily, one of the grounds keepers and a Giovanni both offered to help me with my request. Turns out the chair I needed was 5 feet from the pool separated by a small wall. Pool staff and everyone except front desk individual was great. Do better Royal Palms Resort - do better.
