They not only abandoned my mother during her care but butchered her and then scolded her when she called. Infections and told to wait two weeks for an appointment because they were "too busy" and had "other patients to care for". Didn't give her the proper post surgical care or supplies such as a proper wrap or a single bandage. The fact that they are rated so highly is terrifying. Please do NOT send your loved ones into their "care".

Been this this place for 3 years. The service is horrible. Always get voice mail when I call. Never a live person to answer the calls. When you leave voice mail, they take days to return your calls. Some days I have to drive there because they wouldn't return my messages. Very poor service.

If I could leave zero stars, I would happily do so. This is a long saga, so you may want to take a seat for this. Our original consult had to be rescheduled due to precursor scans being rescheduled. I had to call and leave multiple messages due to the fact that they never answer the phone. They "didn't" receive my multiple messages about rescheduling (made a week/days in advance) and tried to charge us a missed apt fee when I was finally able to reschedule. Um. No. We should have taken the hint and gtfo, but we ignorantly persisted. We have a stage IV colon cancer dx and time is of the essence. Our first meeting with Dr Bhalla was a joke. He had not reviewed the imaging that we were required to get before meeting him, so he had no ability to tell us where the cancer had spread to or what a good action plan would be. We were given a schedule for chemo, and chicken scratch instructions to get another CT scan and blood work done. No order for the work or appointment info. They failed to schedule the CT and could never figure out how to send the blood order to the lab. We had to drive to go pick it up ourselves after a very frustrating afternoon of phone calls and failed faxes. The final straw was today when we arrived for our first chemo appointment. They failed to inform us that they don't have any payment plans and we would have to pay over $3,000 of deductible up front. Who does that? People who are more concerned about their pockets than their patients. If you haven't been through cancer, it's around a 2 week process to find an oncologist, transfer any records and get treatment started. Because of Ironwood Cancer Center, we will be 2 months post dx before we are able to start treatment. That's 2 months of more cancer growth and such a higher chance that our 4 kids under 12 will lose their father. If you value your life, don't go here.

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer when I was a snow bird in AZ this year. I had a malignant brain tumor (it was lung cancer that went to my brain) on 3/15. At my follow up oncology visit 1 week postop in AZ I was told my tumor was being sent "to CA' for the necessary genetic testing. Fast forward 2 weeks when I was back home meeting my local oncologist on 4/5 this is what we learned...Apparently somebody at Ironwood "canceled" my order of this testing because I was getting care in IL. Once you have cancer you know how VITAL this data is. I then had to undergo another biopsy and my care is postponed by 3 weeks. I am a 50 year old mother of 2. I am so angry.

I am a patient at Ironwood Cancer Center and had a PET scan and a Pap Smear 2 weeks ago. After a week I started calling as I did not get my results. I was told over and over my results were not ready yet. Then my HRT doctor at another clinic asked for my medical files. And I found out I had been lied to on both counts. My pet scan results were reported on the 23rd February . And my papsmear results, the 26th February (although this needs retesting, my HPV results were reported and that is specifically what I called in for). It is now the 5th March. I called 2 days ago last and was told they were not ready. My biggest concern is my PET scan determined I have hypermetabolic activity in a lymph node. I am hoping this review will get my oncologist to call me. As I am sick of emailing and leaving messages. I cannot begin HRT until my oncologist clarifies the PET scan results.

More concerned about pulling money from patients before they bill insurance than taking care of patients. My wife went in last week for a scan that we were told would only take a few minutes, inexcusable that we sat in a little room in the back for an hour and a half waiting especially since since my wife had just underwent bilateral mastectomy 2 days prior. When we finally get to talk people on the phone the majority of them try to talk over you instead of listen for 2 minutes, treatment has just begun, and i am by no means impressed with anything they have done

I can't comment on the care received because my wife saw the doctor and it was only a brief visit to get a second opinion on whether a medication prescribed by another doctor would be safe. We chose to see a specialist (hemotologist) to make us more comfortable about the decision. The visit was only 10 minutes long (that's all we needed) then she has to have blood drawn and then return for another 10 minute discussion. The cost of the first visit was $264, and the return follow up was $135. I get that the prices are higher because he is a specialist, but I was floored by this! And this was after it was negotiated down by the insurance company. The cost is higher for the first visit because they "set you up" as a new patient. But in our case it was a one time thing and not ongoing treatment. I don't understand how they don't have more appropriate pricing for a one time consultation. There was no treatment just discussion (the blood work was done at a separate lab and paid for separately). Be careful going in, you better be pretty wealthy to step for in here.

I had to wait 40 minutes for a 2 min visit from the doctor. I was not informed that the doctor was running late. The visit ended up being scheduling another visit. Also, about 5-6 staff asked me to confirm my birthday which btw, happened to be the day of the appointment. Not one person wished me. Its a small gesture and i am not petty but it shows the level of care the staff has for its patients. Deeply disappointed.

34 yr old African American female and I say this from the bottom of my heart…..don’t go here! I have been coming here for weeks being asked to get my blood drawn 4 different times. 5 tubes of blood each time. Today, was my first day for treatment. I was just there this past Tuesday going over my blood work when the Dr told me that he didn’t like what he was seeing and NEEDED to get me started right away. When I came in today i wasn’t even greeted with a Hello. That was my first sign this wasn’t going to go good as soon as I checked on the front desk lady told me she could get my payment of $536 today. I told her that I was already on a payment plan for my co-pay and my insurance should be covering treatment. After going over the numbers she told me she could accept and partial payment today and to that I asked if they had called my insurance and received no reply. They told me i would need to pay today or would receive no treatment. I left and immediately called my insurance and was told they hadn’t even been contacted….4 treatments $536 each. Money is more important than health….. I left off the part where i asked if i could be treated and she told me they needed payment first. If you love yourself go where your health is first!

Any medical place that takes 20 minutes to answer the phone does NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. No matter how good the docs may be, it won't matter if the jerk in charge only wants to drain you for money. Clearly, they understaff the phones to help themselves to more profits. That attitude will always result in frustration and inconvenience to you, the object they want to drain. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

I came to see my doctor regarding not feeling well and wondering if I needed hydration I am a cancer patient and was not feeling right temperature was up with nausea and I could not get thru on either phone lines trying to call all morning my doctor who I work for said just go to the office see if you can see him. I showed up at around 245 when I asked the receptionist if the doctor was in she said she go see after I described my symptoms I told her I was not feeling right and feeling uneasy and not myself confused and dizzy She said she go ask the nurses what to do, she came back and said they said to go to the hospital. So I turned and went to the elevator and the next thing I remember was paramedics over me in the elevator they took me to the hospital across the street where they stated I had a TIA also know as Trans Ischemia Attack ( Stroke) I was admitted for 4 days. When I came back for my next hydration appointment and to follow up with my doctor I requested to speak with the office manager Nicole where did they find her, she didn’t have compassion or understanding for what had happened I asked her why they didn’t call to check on me this was a week after this incident happened that I figure someone who worked at this office would she said no because I was admitted. I also work for a oncologist office and if this happened there first of all they would not let me leave without being check and then we would have called 911 and then would’ve followed up with the patient This so called office manager Nicole is a joke and I’m sorry that my doctor and other patients are going to deal with this. I came in for my last hydration today because I’m going back to who I work for to get the care I deserve I wanted to stay with my work but it just was hard working for them and being a patient but we have other locations so I will just go to the other offices. Because I as being in the oncology field taking care of my patients I have never in my 25 years of experience had a manager disrespect me basically rude and laugh in my face with the questions I had regarding my concerns of what happened to me in their practice. Today when I was in I heard her again asking a nurse no names given about another patient she had to deal with she Nicole stated patients name won’t disclose but have it in my notes that patient’s husband is coming in to “raise hell” and she wanted to get their story on this so the nurse started on what happened I can hear everything and then the other nurse walked over to Nicole and whispers to her hey maybe you should take this in the other room, since she probably knew I was listening since this was another complaint. As a prior office manager it’s pretty sad that your employees have to let you know to take it in a place away from patients for Hippa reasons. As for myself this will be the last time I step foot into this place due to the lack there for of…. Not feeling safe or cared for. As of that day I have been complaining of headaches and stiff neck and back problems which I had not had prior maybe I really hurt myself when I assume I fell to the ground when I blacked out in the elevator. I am going to see a doctor regarding this.

As with its sister office in Mesa, this is a McCancer treatment center. The administrative aspect is completely disjointed and disorganized. The treatments, from what I can tell, are cookie cutter treatments. Once you are on that conveyor belt, that is what you get, more or less. Disregard the "Top Doc" plaques they tack to every wall, but pay attention to how many signs they (apparently) need to request patients remain "civil" and "nonviolent"--they might not need those if they were better at their jobs. They (radiology) also schedule you as they see fit, so if you have any other obligations, be prepared to have difficulties. I had a schedule for 6 weeks in place, only to be handed a calendar with a completely new set of times because they "double booked." Sorry, guys, your failures are not my problem. Your failures to work amongst yourselves to sort out billing, appointments, treatment information--not my problem. The patient side of this equation should be seamless, especially considering the gravity of the situations each one of us that comes to your McOffices are facing. It is just another golden-arches McTopDoc establishment. I don't know if I will fair any better elsewhere, but I can no longer stand the sight of these people.

Dr. Mario Pineda and his entire office team provided an outstanding experience during a difficult time. They are caring, professional and very thorough with explaining concerns, procedures and options. If you are looking for a Dr. who makes you feel like you are his number one patient and wants the very best for your care then you have found it. I highly recommend.

I have not received testing or treatment here since I was not contacted about my referral and did not receive the call back setup on their phone line. Thankfully I was able to have my referral changed to a different company. 20 Jul 2023 Update: Stock answer from Ironwood. There is nothing in my complaint that remotely touches "medical concerns". Be your own judge.

They never helped me with my paperwork for my job, all they cared was about money, money, money. One time l tried telling the doctor my symptoms the medication gave me and she shut me out. I don’t recommend this place at all. I called the main person in charge of that office to voice my concerns and she never returned my call.

My mother went here, they were horrible! She was there daily and they still didn’t know her or know that they had change medication and seemed to not have a clue what was going on. Told us 10 to 20 years and we barley had 6 months with her. Go some where else if you value you or your love one!!!!

Excellent care from the front desk check in (who always smile) thru nursing to the doctor. I want to say that Dr. Kalmadi is amazing. I feel fortunate to have been sent to him. The staff truly does care and do everything possible to not only listen, but respond quickly to treat your particular diagnosis. It's not easy to trust someone with your life and it's comforting to know what good hands you are in.

This place is a rip-off. I have NO deductible and no co-pay, they charged me anyway. I asked if there would be any more surprise charges. They assured me there would not. I talked to a doctor for 15 minutes, they then sent me a statement for over $100!

Since my review, Ironwood has reached out and fixed most of the issues/challenges I was facing. They have fixed my scheduling that works with my work schedule. This has helped reduce my stress level. I am leaving my original review below. So far, my experience with Ironwood is not good. My pulmonologist referred me to Dr. Dariah, and they gave me Dr Akbar, who is just okay. I haven't even started my treatments yet, and the scheduling is a nightmare. I've told them I work full time and I have to be in Phoenix as well as Tempe as I am the Arizona Market Manager for a staffing agency. They scheduled my radiation appointments in the mid-morning hours without consulting me first. Then, after I tell them I can't do chemo on Monday's and I need a Friday appointment, they go ahead and schedule me for Tuesday's . Really?! What is so hard about writing a note in a patient chart scheduling requirements. This is an assembly line treatment facility. I am so stressed out about having cancer, and they are contributing to my stress level 100 fold. I wish I had been referred to MD Anderson. Oh, and they don't coordinate with your insurance very well, I ended up having to pay an additional $1,100 imaging bill because they scheduled my PET scan with their Scottsdale location instead of a free standing imaging center.

Three weeks, the process began for me to be seen by a doctor due to a mass that was found. I left two messages after 1.5 weeks, with no call back. I finally got a hold of someone, but they stated they never received the referral from my family doctor, although they had confirmation. A week later, I called again, this time, they told me they didn't receive the records from Chandler Hospital, which my family doctor already confirmed they sent those too. Now they state they are waiting for my insurance to get back with them, and it would be January or February before I can even be seen. I left a message with my doctor to find a new place as the customer service was horrible. They acted like I was bothering them and not one once of caring over the phone. They keep telling me different things about why they can't make an appointment.

Dr. Farooqui has amazing bedside manner and such a kind demeanor! I was incredibly anxious about being referred to an Oncologist, but he calmed my fears immediately. He answered every single one of my questions in great detail and never made me feel rushed throughout the appointment. He also walked me through all of my possible options and was very detailed about what next steps would look like. And he did this all with an attitude of patience and compassion. Thank you, Dr. Farooqui, for making what could have been a very stressful experience go so smoothly!

The tiny room they sit you in while you drink the barruim is ridiculously small!!! This time was the worse. Four men and then women have to come in and undress in tiny rooms right in that same room. One poor lady made a comment and i dont blame her. We're sheep.
