We had an appointment with the stylist named Vanessa for my 12-year-old daughter’s haircut. The lady butchered her hair so bad that she was crying the whole way home. It was just horrible and I felt so bad that I was thinking of paying someone to glue back some hair for my daughter who is at this tender age of being extremely self-conscious. I know that she’s going to wear a hat for the next month. After coming out of this place, we went to someone whom a friend recommended and got it fixed a bit and it was a little better. But since Vanessa had cut it so short, there was not much to be done. It was not just short, it was as if this woman had never done a haircut in her life. There were jagged hollows in my daughter’s hair. Just awful. I didn’t know there were hairdressers that bad.

First time at 1st Ave Salon, we were greeted by the host, provided refreshments and snacks as we waited for our appointment. Hairstylist, ANDRE was professional and attentive to our needs. He specializes in curls and our daughter needed some style back in her hair. Thank you again, will be back in 3 months, Lord willing!

Vanessa was fantastic! She listened to how much effort I put into styling my hair and cut it to make that easy. Great job on color as well. I look forward to returning in 8 weeks.

THANK YOU FRANCES FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE! I moved to Arcadia a few months ago and I was so nervous to try out a new salon, I had been going to the same person for over 10 years! I desperately in need of a haircut, basically I had resorted to ponytail every day for the past month. I found 1st Ave Salon on line and then checked out their Facebook. I called to see about making an appointment and spoke with Frances who made me feel very comfortable. When I got to the salon, it was easy parking in the back public parking area, I entered the salon and found it to have a nice positive and warm atmosphere! I met with Frances and explained how I would like to have my hair, we talked about the color and then she did her magic…My color was perfectly matched to what I already had, my cut was perfect…. I felt like a new person. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Very covid conscience. Protocols are paramount. You need to wait outside for the attendant to let you in. And each booth is separated by clear plastic partitions with nice wooden frames. They do offer beverages and snacks while you wait. The hairdressers are friendly and very good at what they do. My hairdresser was Andre- very sought after.

I went to get my facial done with Cortney this morning been getting facials for several years, I’m also a hairstylist/barber. Her facial room ins very warm and cozy, and her choice of music is very relaxing, believe me, I’ve been in facial areas, where there are bright lights, loud music and tons of noise, not here. I can honestly, she is the best I’ve ever had!!! She’s knowledgeable and educates you on your skin, and recommended what is best to maintain a healthy environment for my skin type. I can’t say enough about Cortney, I’m so glad I found her, she’s got me forever, even the stylists that work there ,were very friendly and inviting, it was again an amazing experience. I've had very bad experience in the past at beauty salons. I always end up unhappy with my hair. Anyway, so my hair was in desperate need of something. It was long but very dry and the ugliest splitends EVER. So I work in Acadia and I Google nearest salons to me and this one is the closest so I read there reviews and was kind of shocked. Nothing but 5 stars.. So I ended up walking in and everyone was so nice and kind. VANESSA was amazing she did a treatment to it, cut and left me feeling beautiful again.. my hair is alive and still very long. I can't not express the gratitude I have for her. No only are they professional's, they have the best customer service! I'm so so so so picky VANESSA totally exceeded my expectations. If you want a great outcome and you guys should totally go there. Can't wait to take my mom.

Frances is so great! I didn't have an appointment and they were about to close when I walked in, but she took me and was so nice, and did a great job on my hair. I will definitely go back!

This place is great. The staff is wonderful but it was a little crowded as they seemed to have overbooked but I suppose it's a good thing that they have the demand. My girlfriend had come here before and she mentioned that they did men's cuts and skin care treatments. After going to supercuts for a lifetime with some upscale salons for special occasions it was nice to find a salon with great service in Arcadia. The San Gabriel Valley is lacking for upscale treatments and the only touch of class in the area can be found in Old Town Pasadena and even then some of the salons are just overpriced. With regards to the service the shampoo was great and the cut was good a little shorter than usual, I expressed what I wanted and then my stylist suggested I try something a little different and I actually really like the look. For just a little more and by that I mean about 5 dollars more you get a great shampoo with quality product and personal service so I will totally recommend them.

I finally found a great salon in Pasadena. Funny enough it's actually in Arcadia but that's only a few minutes away. I love this salon first I was really unsure about it. I read the reviews on Yelp and saw that it only had 3 stars and there were others that had 4 and 4.5 stars but I also checked out that the others had a lot less reviews. And these guys have about 100 reviews but Yelp is only showing 20 something. Either way I chose them because it was on my way from where I am currently staying. The place is nice and clean and the clientele seems pretty varied. I like the fact that they seem to do very high end stuff without any of the pretension. I LOVED this a lot. Before I go on I am going to say the negatives. It seemed a little disorganized, and the place like I said is clean but it does seem like they are still trying to find their look and feel. It was a mixture between industrial and then that Faux-glam style "juicy" look which seems to be more of their norm...but I wish they would avoid that. I've always felt that whole pink and rhinestone look is really cheap in general so guys if you read your own reviews PLEASE stay classy! LOL with that said the service was spot on they have some coffee and cookies in the back and I was helped by Frances. Everything was great I really felt good there, I do feel however that they need to relax and just breathe. They have a great service and AMAZING shampoo! Their products are nice too I didn't know that they had Bumble and Bumble as their product line and they used Aveda Color. I was totally unfamiliar with these so I literally came in blind but it worked out really well. One of the things that really surprised me was that in terms of the service that I received was by far one of the best and because of the type of business I'm in I have gone to the the big guys in the West Side and Santa Monica places that A. We're VERY pricey maybe overpriced and B. Really really unwelcoming you knew who the regulars and the cliques were and if you're a stranger careful. However it was a real find to be able to go here and find that they a high class service in the area!
