We decided to send our loved one here for short term rehab after a hospital stay. The admissions coordinator called us to entice us to come. She was very helpful, from there it all became very challenging. Very hard to talk with nursing staff on the phone. The therapy and nursing staff did not seem to communicate to be on the same page for what our loved one needed to be able to return home to ALF. The staff needs to answer the phone and communicate with families during Covid. We asked 6 times for them to recheck her urine for UTI- it never got was done before discharge. She has not recovered to her prehospitalization status.

My experience with Tampa Lakes was nothing short of amazing. I am not sure if the review about "short staff" was a disgruntled employee but I never found that to be an issue. In fact I always found there was more than one person always available to meet my needs. They have the nurse, the CNA, the unit manager, an assistant director of nursing, a director of nursing, a risk manager, a night time nurse supervisor, a weekend nurse supervisor, and an administrative manager on duty-- I mean it, there was always someone to help! But more importantly, the REHAB TEAM! LIFE CHANGING! I watched them not only encourage my loved one but many other loved ones. Enrique is a God send as well as many of the others on the team, all caring and all dedicated to getting your Mom or Dad better & back home! Tampa Lakes has a rehab team worth celebrating. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Tampa Lakes, starting with the great tour we received prior to even coming, friendly smiles and encouraging words for this hard time. Make sure you stop in and meet the front desk receptionist, Pam, she is top notch! I have never seen a woman multi task with such calmness and still has time to remain kind to visitor and residents who stop by her desk. Lastly, the one who really made a difference in our stay was the Director of nursing, Toni. I would see her around the building later in the evenings, taking the time to stop and talk with families and residents. She cared enough to ask if we had any concerns, and took the time to explain things to my family when we weren't quite sure of what to expect as we came closer to discharge. She put our mind at ease and explained everything with patience and grace. We are so grateful for the great care, rehab, and kindness we received from what we now consider our "family" at Tampa Lakes!

Overall I have had such a positive experience here, it takes time for your loved one to adjust when transitioning into long-term care. The staff is very caring and they all work to help you find a solution when something needs attention. There are a lot of moving parts and pieces to caring for elderly loved ones or people who need long-term care, and I'm grateful that I found this place that my mom now calls home.

I transferred my Mom to Tampa Lakes after a horrible experience at another local rehab in Lutz & let me tell you it was the best decision we’ve made! My mom is so much happier, doing great in her therapy sessions, & being well taken care of! If I had read all of these awesome reviews from the start my Mom would have been here from the beginning. We are so happy we were able to get her into Tampa Lakes & are so grateful that she is getting strong enough to come back home! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! ~~ J Reyes

My grandfather was a patient at Tampa Lakes about a month ago. He needed some rehab before returning home with us, and during this pandemic we were really hesitant to go. However our experience was great! My grandfather said staff were friendly and attentive, the therapy gym was huge and the therapy staff were also amazing, they called us every week to let us know how he was progressing in his therapies. We were able to set an appointment to visit outside on several different occasions. Over-all great experience, not like others we have had in the area.

We were skeptical about letting our grandmother go to a rehab facility during the era of COVID-19. She lives with us and did not want to go, but the doctors at the hospital recommended she did to get stronger before coming back home. We picked Tampa Lakes based off of some reviews, and we are pleased with the experience. The staff were very responsive to any requests and the management team was very accessible when needed. Grandma had an over-all good experience, would recommend to any family in a similar situation.

My sister was just discharged from rehab at Tampa Lakes after ankle surgery, where she received excellent care and services. The CNA’s and nurses there, (particularly Margo, Jenna, Deborah and Chuck), showed such compassion and respect. The physical therapy department was high quality, encouraging and effective. The facility was soothing, bright, beautiful and clean - no odors. Absolutely everyone there had her best interests at heart. The food would be more palatable if it could be served in heated carts to the rooms; however, the “other option”, menu was usually quite good. Overall, it was a positive experience and I would recommend it to anyone needing rehab after surgery.

The staff and facility deliver the best care for our loved one. We've arrived at different times of the day, week and weekend and have never heard a complaint or negative response from my mother about the care she is receiving. That's important for her recovery and our piece of mind. Thank you for caring and doing well for our mom....

Our mother was admitted here for wound care on her foot. She had a wound vac that was supposed to be on round the clock. We checked her out Xmas day to visit family, it took 5 days to get it reconnected. Everybody we talked to, had some lame excuses why it wasnt addressed yet. Terrible. This is a horrible faculty, shame on you,

If I could give negative stars I would. Our loved one went into Tampa lakes after surgery. She repeatedly called crying saying that nurses would not respond to her calls for hours. She should have been receiving regular physical therapy due to her injury and has come out completely wheelchair bound, absolutely no muscle tone in her legs at all and multiple bedsores. Our home health nurse also discovered dried and caked on waste around her sore that was supposedly just cleaned an hour before she got home, as well dried old waste in and around her private areas. This is place in an absolute disgrace. They completely neglected and took advantage of a vulnerable woman.

Had the pleasure of working a few shifts through agency and was very impressed by the beautiful facility and the staff that truly give 150% to the residents. I travel full time but if I lived in the area I would be proud to work for this facility and would feel confident in trusting them with my loved one. Great job Tampa Lakes Health and Rehabilitation y'all rock! Shout out to Nurse Vicky, and CNA Shannon they are loved by their residents.

Tampa Lakes top notch. I recently had a loved one stay there, and after touring other facilities we felt most comfortable here. They have attentive staff and a clean facility, I would definitely recommend!

If I could provide a zero rating I would. My father was a resident before he passed. He would often call me to get a hold of a nurse as his call button was ignored. Horrible care and horrible staff, especially the front office. Trying to contact someone is like trying to get a hold of the president. My father has been gone since September and I was called by somone a week ago from their staff asking to speak to him... totally distasteful.

My Mother Gloria Ryan Rivera has been living in Tampa Lakes Rehab. Center for the last 3 years. I found this Center thanks to a Nurse from another facility who highly recommended that place. After a tour, I was so impressed that the arrangements for Mom’s transfer was completed in 2 days. My Mom is very happy there. And my sister Ivette and I are very happy too. We recommend Tampa Lakes Rehabilitation 100%. Staff is very caring & sensitive to her needs; the administration is always there for you, and the cleanliness is beyond expectations. Ah! I forgot about the constant events they have for residents and family. Sandra Acevedo

I visited Tampa Lakes rehabilitation today to look at options for my Father who recently fell. Upon my unscheduled arrival Lily Navarro met me and immediately started to review my Father’s Health orders and treated us with so much compassion. Everyone I came in contact with was so eager to help. We toured the facility and it was beautifully kept and the rooms are spacious and clean. I was referred to the facility by a family member of former patient who received very good care. Thank you Tampa Lakes for the time you spent with us today.

best rehab facility in Tampa in my opinion. I had my Mom there at 98 years old, had multiple blood clots in her leg prior to going to Tampa Lakes and she could not walk. after just about 6 weeks, she was walking long distances inside the facility. Caring staff, very efficient and competent staff, particularly, Enrique in Physical Therapy and Ellie, one of the RN's there. fantastic, caring and skilled people. Lilly in admissions is kind, efficient and remembers everybody!!!! I wouldn't want to take a loved one anywhere else and in fact now have my ex step father in law there. Don't hesitate to consider this facility for any rehab needs.

My father in law is a patient at Tampa Lakes. When you walk into the facility you automatically have a good feeling from the moment you are greeted. The facility is so well kept and very clean. The staff have been so kind to him. The nursing staff are very attentive to his needs. He enjoys the food. Their rehab department has developed a strong program for him utilizing very modern equipment. I work in healthcare and am familiar with numerous facilities in the area. I can honestly say Tampa Lakes is a wonderful place. I would recommend anyone needing rehab to choose Tampa Lakes.

Tampa Lakes Rehabilitation came highly recommended to me. I was not prepared to put my mom in rehab again. Our first experience was horrible ( a facility in Slidell,LA). I recently moved her here and she ended up in the hospital for a week. I went Tampa Lakes Rehab and spoke the the BOM Sebastian who took me around and showed me the facility. Right off the back I was please because the facility didn’t smell, it was clean and everyone was very nice to me, even the residents. They helped me settle my mom in and explained everything to me. I greatly appreciate Tampa Lakes Rehab. My only advice, don’t go off everyones review. Go and see all facilities and make your choice. Only you know what’s best for your family. Thank you Tampa Lakes Rehab Staff for taking care of my heart, my mother. Nikki C.

terrible taking care of residents. they sit all day long waiting to be taken out of chairs. my father lives here and sadly i fear for the people that do not have visitors. i am sure they are neglected. physical therapy and nurses are great. the cnas are disrespectful and act like they’re mad when you ask them to simply help to the bathroom.

Great Gym! Common eating area lets patients socialize outside their room. Great activity opportunity. Nursing/tech staff are focused on care, but sometimes could be friendlier.

My husbands father recently stayed at Tampa Lakes for Rehabilitation. Not only is the facility clean, beautiful and has an impressive, well-equipped Rehab gym; the staff was welcoming, well trained and knowledgeable. The Therapy staff was outstanding and they took the time to listen to our goals for his recovery with honest feedback and updates. This was our second experience there, as my husbands mom was also a short term resident there two years ago. We definitely recommend Tampa Lakes to anyone looking for excellent care for their family or friends.

Earlier this year I witnessed unimaginable injuries to a patient in Cabana Bay Long term facility. I have witnessed so much neglect in the way of multiple residents some I know and some I didn’t being totally ignored by staff who were ( texting on cell phones or socializing with each other vs pt care). I repeatedly saw call lights on for hours who were unattended to. I felt so bad I urged the staff to please help the patient . The nurses said it was the aids jobs not there’s. I saw a callous disregard for patients. In one particular case where a pt in 318 couldn’t walk to the bathroom, call button ignored repeatedly, the facility with held her electric scooter so the lady was stuck helpless, This particular pt in 318 got so sick from infectionalized she was near death. I urge administration to monitor staff with cameras

Deplorable conditions! While the facility looks clean, the patient care is less than acceptable. My friend has been hospitalized due to major infections due to sitting in her own urine and feces for hours. Staff takes food that belongs to the patients from the patient refrigerator. The lack of care and respect shown to my friend is a shameful.

Tampa lake is a great place to work very clean place. Very work friendly., interacting with patient is very rewarding. The management is great, very good workplace with different cultures. The most enjoyable part of this job is that you made a different in a patient life. I really enjoyed just working around people and helping others in a positive friendly manner and taking care of people in need.

The facility is very clean. However the food oftentimes is not edible. I see the residents taste the food and not eat any of it. A lot of food is given or in this case wasted but no one wants to eat it because it tastes horrible. They do not have enough staff. They have only one nurse for 30 residents. Sometimes there is only one CNA for 30 residents at the most there are three CNAs on a good day. The nurses and CNAs constantly complain that they are overworked. This is not good quality healthcare. The residents and family members voice their complaints but nothing seems to be done. I believe the owners put their profits above the quality of care of the residents. Unfortunately there are not very many places that accept Medicare and Medicaid so the elderly are left with subpar care. The issues I mentioned are above are not unique to Tampa lakes. If you have $6,000 to dish out a month you can have an elderly parent reside in a really nice facility. The entire system is broken and no one is looking at fixing it. As more of the population gets older this issue will only get worse

My Aunt was placed here and an incident happened where they claimed there was an investigation, she was here for 20 days and received what looks like a punch to her face. Bedridden and unable to defend herself, her family is her voice. Today 9/15 she was discharged with no answers as to who the incident happened with and what the investigation results turned out to be. When I arrived to see my Aunt 9/5 I called the Sheriff and 3 officers arrived telling me they see there was an investigation but still till this day there have been no answers.

This rehabilitation center is excellent and well-maintained. The facilities are exceptionally clean, the staff is friendly, and they provide attentive care to the patients. However, like many rehabilitation centers, the only issue is a shortage of staff, which results in delays. They require additional personnel to assist, as sometimes there's a wait when you need assistance. Apart from that, I believe this is the best rehabilitation center I have come across."

Tampa Lakes is the best facility my husband has ever been in. The staff is amazing they are so friendly and polite to everyone and always making sure you have what you need and if they don’t have what you need they go out of their way to make sure you get it if possible. The nurses are wonderful they take very good care of their patients and always check to see if they are ok and if they need anything it’s amazing how friendly they are and how well they take care of their patients. It’s very clean. And the therapy department is amazing and all the therapist are great. My husband was here two days and they had him up walking and he hasn’t walked like that in 3 to 4 years I was impressed. I have been in a lot of faculties and I have to say this is by far it’s the best faculty I’ve ever been in…

This facility neglects its patients. It is not staffed to meet the needs of the patients, and the staff is not friendly and allowed my father to fall and eventually they found him on the floor when delivering dinner when he was supposed to have been dressed and eating I. Dinning room. He had accidents, because you could never locate staff when needed. They failed to dress him daily as is their policy. He was routinely left in a an undressed state and completely ignored. If you have loved one and care about them, do not leave them here. This is neglect. They should be closed.
