Disappointed that it was closed for refurbishment at the beginning of the Tourist Season, better planning of renovations, or at least let visitors to walk around the outside to take some photos. What the managers must remember is that, most tourists have traveled thousands of kilometers to be turned back 150m away. Poor-form in my mind.

Wonderful piece of very well maintained history. Your able to walk around the buildings, but if you want to go inside you need a key from Battery Hill

We stopped in here as we seen the sign. Once here it was easy accessable during the day. It wasnt locked up. We could walk through the building with ease. Read the history as we went. We also went over to the 2 man cemetery to have a look.

Would have been much better had we been able to get inside. However you have to pick up a key with a deposit back at Tennant Creek information centre. This should be made more obvious than only getting the info once you are there.

What a good stop over to stretch the legs and explore. There is a self guided pamphlet you can pick up at the gate when you get into the station, this is a must so you can learn about the area. If you are wanting to go into the main homes you need to leave a $20 deposit at the information centre to get a key. “Jonique Life” Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

The early settlers made it a comfortable place in a harsh environment

Really enjoyed checking out the old Telegraph Station. The area is well kept with plenty of interesting information. Some of the buildings can be entered which makes exploring all the more fun. We spent close to an hour looking around and taking photos. There's a visitor's book to sign and clean toilets. Definitely worth a look.

To access the Tennant Creek Telegraph Station, you will need to collect the key from the Battery Hill Mining Centre.(we did not know that and therefore we did not get the keys and could only peek through windows or enter the rooms that were not locked up). The sign outside were still very interesting. There is also a cemetry with 2 graves close by.

Well maintained historic site at Tennant Creek NT with good car parking for cars, campers and caravans to visit. Toilet block, visitor info sheets and visitors book.
