Love the Mercado, a lovely walk around with the beautiful scenery of the mountains behind. Great environment and very friendly local people, smells amazing with all those food stalls.

Lovely and chill... I've been to a few of these villages which draw spiritual seekers and this one is much more authentic and friendly. Usually these tourist markets are a rip-off (pisad, machu pichu, Koh Phangsn,) but not here. Oh, it looks cool from the air too... here's a pic

The Mercado of Tepoztlan is amazing. Lots of great produce and food stands. The Pre-Hispanic food is something you should try. It’s something we haven’t found in other place of Mexico we’ve visited during the 4 months we have spent in this country. Food will cost between 1-5 USD and is TOTALLY worth your money. This food It basically a selection of “vegetarian” balls that came all prepared with weeds, flowers, seeds, fruits (& even crickets) from the region and were served with some delicious mole!

What a nice public market in the town square. Beware, they use 40 oz beers to make micheladas, two for 150 pesos!

Incredible experience! Highly recommend for groceries and/or lunch/early dinner. Everything closes early so get there before 4!

Unfortunately I didn't have a great experience here. My girlfriend and I ate in one of these food stalls, and the food wasn't great. I liked the pancita, but I wish it was spicier. All the rest was gone off. We ordered a Chile relleno, and it was acid and unedible. The tortilla was also very hard and dry. Overall, it's not a great experience. We don't know if we were unlucky and the other stalls were better. The one we ate was called doña something, unfortunately I can't recall the full name. (In front of this one, there was another called doña something).

The place is great, unfortunately there's too many people at weekend and a lot of them drink, also a lot of noice since every stand has their own music, is a mix of loudness, alcohol and great views.

They don't list prices on the menu so they can rip you off. The food is expensive in this market since they can charge you whatever they want. Always ask beforehand and write it down. The most expensive food was when someone in our party did not ask for the price. I heard the lady tell someone else it was $85 for a Huarache and she charged us $150 and said I misheard her. Get it in writing and confirm - especially if you're a tourist. They write down your order so just ask them to write down the price next to it or don't bother and get better service in a restaurant.

Great mix of vendors. You can find all kinds of produce, food, drink, and merchandise at these stands. We had lunch at one of the small stands and it was very good. Owner was friendly and the food was good.

Great market in Tepoztlán. Not too big, and just about crowded enough. Good place to eat in one of the small place with room for six people. The market stretches out to the nearby plaza and its surrounding streets. Sunday is a very good day to visit.

Great experience at the market! Recommend going after noon as the vegetable stands start opening around 10am, and artisan stands begin opening around noon. Great coffee at Café Revolución! Be careful with giving a valet key out for parking as we lost $400 pesos!

If you go to Tepoztlán you have to enter to the market and taste all the food in there, I recommend the quesadillas specially the ones with grasshoppers they are delicious, they may not look good but they are really good!

I’ve read many blogs raving about the prehispanic food here, so I decided to try it, boy I wasn’t disappointed! I ate at the stall “El Tlequil” and ordered the Tlalqueliadas (aztec veggie patties). They also serve different types of exotic meats like wild boar, snake, deer, armadillo, etc Come here if you want to taste something new!
