Really wonderful view walking up here from the Mont des Arts. You’ll pass some beautiful buildings and tribute murals to Magritte if you head towards the Magritte museum from here.

The L'oreille Tourbillonante is a cute little fountain at the summit of Mont des Arts. The centrepiece of the fountain is a sculpture that looks like a blade from one of those children's toys called pinwheels. The sculpture has a twisted shape gives it a sense of motion. It does actually turn, though I'm not sure if the movement is mechanical or due to the wind. Not amazing, but it does look kind of interesting.

The American sculptor Alexander Calder designed fountains for the American pavilion at Expo 58 with an abstract sculpture, which he later called The Whirling Ear. After the world exhibition, the work of art was donated to Belgium. The sculpture stood in a dried-out basin on the Heysel for years , and restoration work was postponed, leading Calder to consider buying back the rusted artwork himself. At the end of the 1990s, the city of Brussels and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium reached an agreement and in 2000 the artwork was moved to the Mont des Arts.

Beautiful place, you must visit it if you are in Brussels. Find its story below. The warm summer of 1958 drove the Expo visitor en masse to the pond of the American pavilion. It contained meters high moving fountains that revolved around their axis. In the center was a work by the American sculptor Alexander Calder: The Whirling Ear. Because it was languishing in the Heysel after the World Exhibition, it was 'stolen' by the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in 1968. It was only in the nineties that it could be restored, since 2000 it has stood in its prominent place at the top of the Kunstberg.

This is a neat little fountain at the top of Mont des Arts. You can find a couple of museums nearby (Magritte and Musical Instruments) and its a short walk from the royal palace. As for the fountain itself, it's nothing amazing. There's a cool rotating structure inside but not really anything great. You'll probably just see it as you walk by.

A beautiful place with historical buildings surrounded and a well maintained garden. On the top of the stairs, there is a great view of the old town.

"Het Wervelend Oor" is actually a bronze sculpture located in Brussels, Belgium. The sculpture was created by Belgian artist, Henri Jacobs, and was installed in the city in 1996. The sculpture is located in the center of a roundabout, near the intersection of Rue de la Loi and Rue Belliard. It is a large, abstract form that is made up of several curved, interlocking pieces, which give the impression of movement and flow. The name "Het Wervelend Oor" translates to "The Swirling Ear" in English, and the sculpture is intended to represent the sense of hearing. The sculpture is an important landmark in Brussels and is considered an example of contemporary art. It is located in a busy intersection and is a prominent feature of the city's urban landscape. Despite its abstract form, the sculpture has become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, and it is often photographed and admired for its unique and striking design.

Just above the Mont des Arts is One of the most unique and interesting spots to visit in Brussels and its vicinity is L'oreille Tourbillonante, an art installation located in the center of Brussels on a promenade linking the upper and lower part of the city in the museum district. The granite coping of the pond where it is placed, surrounded by a few water jets, serves as a rest bench for walkers. You can take a rest here and be mesmerized on the beauty of the Mont des Arts. Above the installation is the Musée des Instruments de Musique
