An interesting lesson in Belgium/Brussels history. All the old tapestries are very cool and it's amazing to see how well they hold up. It's quite a neat tour but might be boring for younger children.

One of the places you should never miss to visit if you be at Brussels is this place. You get to get lost in the beauty of the architecture and the history of this place. Either try reading a bit about the place before visiting there or opt a walking tour to get to know more about the place. It’s so beautiful and mesmerizing!

Incredible architecture and size! It's a must-see sight in Brussels. Indeed, the whole square is truly amazing. Also, next to it is located Hard Rock Cafe. Actually, the square with the Town Hall is one of the biggest sightseeings in Brussels. Definitely visit it!

The town hall is a landmark of Gothic architecture whose visit is essential. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. It is worth your visit and spend some time understanding its geometry, structure, shapes and design. But, you'll be able to appreciate it better if you read some of its history while you're there. This will serve to better understand its cultural and artistic value and its significance in the city.

The Town Hall of the City of Brussels is a Gothic building from the Middle Ages. It is located on the famous Grand Place in Brussels, Belgium, opposite the Museum of the City of Brussels. It is the only remaining medieval building of the Grand Place and is considered a masterpiece of civil Gothic architecture and more particularly of Brabantine Gothic.

What a beauty. People who joined tours about the town hall will know it's little secrets and special sides, which may be funny to know. The high peak is beautiful and matches with the rest of the grand square. During the flower carpet event, one could come up to the terrace of the town hall to take a view from above. Loved it.

Beautiful, historic and a very calm place. It is a square full of history and creativity. I can spend hours in this place. The buildings around this square are beautiful, full of history and art work. And this is definitely a never miss destination. If you are coming to Brussels and can hit only one spot, that is your spot.

Brussels town hall, if you get a chance to visit the interior of this amazing Townhall, please take that chance! With ornate and detailed carving throughout building amazing, sculptural forms, and inspiring architecture it’s a must to visit! We were at a city organised event where they opened a balcony/terrace for us to view. It was magnificent.

This is the main building at the heart of Brussels and one of the most beautiful ones in the entire city. The place can be visited only on a guided tour, and it does not run the entire day.

Gorgeous interior (everything from door knobs to ceilings and walls)! I couldn’t understand the tour since it was in French, but the art was worth it!

Very beautiful, outstandingly European, and one of the most clicked places of Belgium. Highly recommended to visit during mid - August, (the assumption of Mary - 15 August) as the empty square in the decorated with flowers and some stunning light shows are organised in the evening.

Brussels townhall is very unique. It has evolved a lot during its history. Visiting it with a tour is a very nice way to learn its history. The building has very nice rooms that are using in a daily basis by its Mayor.

Historical, nice looking building. It has not been maintained well and you're generally not allowed to get inside it as the gates are closed. There are some great Street artist outside the town hall. You can buy stuff like waffles and dark chocolate nearby but i personally don't recommend it as it's too expensive and non exclusive

I recently visited the Brussels Town Hall and was blown away by the beautiful architecture and rich history of the building. The exterior of the Town Hall is absolutely stunning, with intricate details and stunning gothic design. Inside, the grand hall is equally impressive, with high ceilings and ornate decorations. Despite not having a tour guide, I still enjoyed exploring the building and learning about its history. Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Brussels Town Hall - it's a must-see for anyone interested in architecture and history.

It is a very magnificent and beautiful building built in the 1400s (in the Middle Ages!) The gothic elements and the sculptures on it are truly amazing. Building has a little inner courtyard and this courtyard has a sculpture by Pierre-Denis Plumier. Sometimes you can see weddings or entertainments in this place. Whether you like architecture or not, you can be sure that this is a place that will fascinate you.

What an amazing city square with old architecture and plenty of tourists. Definitely worth taking a walk and viewing this spectacular old city square. Brussels have some beautiful old views.

One of the most famous European square offers some unforgettable views of 300 years old buildings and some of the most memorable landmarks of Brussels, the Gothic Town hall with the 96 meters high city tower, the Museum of the city of Brussels and once in two years in August you can enjoy millions of colorful begonias forming the well known Flower carpet. The awe-inspiring "Grand Place" is a landmark square located in Brussels, Belgium, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Magnificent buildings, including the Town Hall and St. Michael's Cathedral, surround the square.

I visited with a guid so very informative and beautiful, my only regret is you don't really get to explore by yourself or see inside of the long towers:)

This town hall is landmark with Gothic architecture. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the tallest and mighty Hotel; de Ville I have seen in entire Europe. I vouch to visit this during the daytime and night time. During night time, lights will be lit up and gold façade will shine bright. You can easily see the tower of the Hotel de Ville from any where in the city, it so tall :)

Amazing architecture in the centre of the European capital, splendid!! It is probably the most beautiful Grand-Place of the world!

  • 5/5 George S. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome place! It’s a little crowed but that’s okay because I went during Christmas so naturally there would be a surplus of people in tourist locations. One awesome highlight of visiting during Christmas in the lights that shine on the square and music.

Built in 15th century, it is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site, as part of the square. It is located on the famous Grand Place (Brussels' main square).

This building was constructed to be the tallest building in the town in order for traders to locate the trading square. To this day, the building is still used as the town hall where paperwork can be done. Highly recommended!

They are beautiful Rococo style buildings . Built in around 1690-1697 . The year of 1696 was displayed on the top of building. … worth to spend some time here .

An absolutely stunning building with gothic architecture, built in 15th century and now is listed as UNESCO world heritage site. Located in the famous Grand place, it doesn’t look like a town hall at all. Guided tours in English, French and Dutch are available.

How could someone not give this place 5 ⭐️? Amazing place. Amazing building. God knows how old - but I’m sure there’s a bit of Congo in that building.

One of the most historical squares in Europe, if you only have one day in Brussels, please visit here!

Brussels is one of the least wheelchair-friendly city I know in Europe (compared to Barcelona, Madrid, London, France, Torino, Milano and many others...) ; many paved streets (which I can understand for an historic city, but still...). Many street intersection lack curb cuts (even in the most touristic area); all that was the case in 2008 when I first visited the city and still remains the same now in 2022. Many museum are not accessible (Only 2 of 6 city museum are), chocolate museum recently moved and I was pushed back as they where afraid to block the elevator because of my wheelchair (which is not one of the heaviest). Taking public transports is also very complex; some bus lines are not, some partially and some totally wheelchair-friendly...

Such a nice building that still retains all the details of carving. It was finished in many stages starting from 1412. I believe for it to stand great like this for such a long time, a lot of preservation efforts must have been carried out.
