I don’t know any more how many times I went to this lovely beautiful house, I am so grateful to the Fondation Boghossian who took the time and money to give this place back all its beauty. Yesterday, I went to the expo of the architect Michael Polak who created this house … what a genius.

The building is a strong reason to visit this museum. The architecture is stunning, especially how the light comes in. Then there are also exhibitions inside, which make it more interesting. The courtyard and pool are very nice and they can be visited freely. The coffee shop is a great place as well.

Altough the program on Google and on official site are identical (villa IS opened to the public between 11-18), don't bother to go there because you will have a surprise, as I did: the villa is NOT opened to the public. At least the lady who bothered to ask me what I want said "No, SORRY". She was sorry. Exterior is superb, you can go to the back pool and alleys, but that's it. Villa is not on main tourist routes, so only determined and art-deco lovers will meet the efforts to visit villa Empain. Try not to disappoint others as much as you did with me. We are not too many.

Nice, special and beautiful house and garden in art deco. Still a bit work in progress: art deco furniture is missing

A very special space for temporary art exhibitions. The art deco Villa is a jewel in itself, and the art housed in it is usually worth a visit. I always combine it with a brisk walk in the nearby Bois de la Cambre park. Make sure to visit the stunning swimming pool, accessible through the garden.

A must for Art Deco fans. This ex-USSR Embassy is a must-see, and stop off at the café to take in the atmosphere of this incredible building by Michel Polak.

The house is in a nice neighbourhood but this is all that is nice about it. Very old and not maintained well, the art inside is not currated well and the attitude of staff is nothing else but rude and disrespectful. They organise some events, like a summer party, which turned out to be snobbish thanks to the treatment of staff. I would not recommend going there.

Prestigious villa in art-deco style now open for the public. Currently the entry price is € 12. Rotation of modern art expositions and some nocturnal art performances. Check the website for upcoming events.

A small museum located in a magnificent Art Deco villa. If the current exhibition does not suit you...at least the villa itself is worth the visit. Plenty of nice photographs can be made. Information is not plenty but enough to get an idea and background.

Beautiful example of art deco architecture and furnishings. Loved wandering around this home, imagining the life it's owners must have enjoyed. Odd but interesting exhibition in the basement detailing a housing development the owner created in Cairo Egypt. Lots of artifacts and details about the history of the development site.

Art Deco hat its best. The elegant lifestyle of a wealthy young Gentleman is palpable here. And the little Restaurant with even outdoor seating is an asset.

  • 4/5 Alexia S. 4 years ago on Google
Beautiful art deco house that has been amazingly restored to it’s original state. What i liked best are the rooms with furniture and artwork from the ‘right’ period which give the home an authentic feel. I would have liked some more information about the inhabitants and how they truly lived, but maybe i just didn’t read the right brochures/leaflets.

(Translated by Google) Located more or less between the ULB and the Bois de la Cambre, the Villa Empain is easily accessible by car via the Avenue Franklin Roosevelt and the tram line 8. Its interior is of great beauty, of great finesse. , of a great finish, with a mixture of marble, wood, various glasses, and multiple decorations of great quality. We like to admire them for long minutes. As for the exhibition on contemporary cartography, I admit to having been slightly disappointed by certain representations which come closer to a "contemporary art of cartography", without much meaning. Still, a few were worth it, including the one that, turning things upside down, turns our world upside down.

Not very well organised corona-wise. They don't keep track of how many people actually showed up, so whether they're at 20% capacity or 100%, they don't know. No way to get a ticket for a spot that was a no-show after e.g. 30 min.

Beautiful building with a very impressive architecture (and swimming pool!) that hosts different artistic exhibitions. It has a very interessing history as it was founded by Armenian refugees arriving in Brussels in the 60s. Visited the exhibition "Portrait of a Lady." It's a small but very nice museum with a café that looked nice, but was unfortunately too crowded to find a seat. The works in the museum were very interesting, ranging from prehistoric figurines to contemporary photography. Unfortunately, there was no English (or German) content to accompany the artworks. The basement further featured a small exhibition on the villa's architect. Overall, it was a great experience.

A breath taking villa, full of art, beauty and light. All exhibitions are usually interesting, not too long to visit, and personnel is always present to give some explanations.

The museum is small but nice. Beautiful pool and small garden. Taking some stars off for the restaurant. On a standalone basis the restaurant would have been a 2 for me. The decor is beautiful, in keeping with the style of the villa. However: - one of the people we dealt with was very unfriendly; like, anti customer-service type. - the food bears no relationship to the prices charged, even taking account of Belgium being an expensive country. €32 for this brunch is a total ripoff, frankly. The shakshuka eggs were over cooked and one was broken; nothing special about the flavours. I can do better at home. The same can be said for the rest of the food - unremarkable flavours, presentation, and quantity. This sort of meal should not go for more than €20 per person. The flatware needs to be refreshed and our chutney bowl had a big ugly crack and a chunk missing. - the place was allegedly fully booked but it never looked more than half-way full.

One of the most interesting 'Art Deco' places in Brussels. The exceptional house is used for temporary thematic exhibitions. Difficult to be reached by public transport a bike of step can be a good help.

Loved the Flags exhibition today. Really nice. Good length - we were in there for an hour. Quality stuff.

Beautiful spot, fantastic for a work party. I left hungry though! Added a pic of the main. They cut that poor chicken down so much may have well called it a chicken nugget :) Truffle oil tasted like soya sauce?

absolutely gorgeous!! beautifully renovated and in such a gorgeous neighborhood, worth to walk down the street towards avenue louise and look at the architecture as well

Lovely building, the temporary exhibitions however were a bit disconnected from the architecture and did not highlight the villa for me personally; would be great to be able to exit the villa towards the pool through one of the two doors that go to the garden

Sophisticated Art Nouveau house close to the Forest. Beautiful exhibition place. The current expo on DREAMERS was really well curated. Go check it out ! And I enjoyed the 2023 summer pool party 🎉

Nice place to go for a quick run around. You won't be spending too much time here though. Entrance wasn't for free either but all in all worth it.

If you’re a design lover then it’s a must see! Although further from the centre, the exhibitions and the villa itself were the most valuable for me during my trip. It was super visually pleasing and interesting :)
