An excellent example of an art nouveau house. Maybe the best by this architect. No photos allowed thought so I drew these 😉 honest!!!

House of super-rich industrialist Armand Solvay, inventor and developer of soda chemicals, designed by Victor Horta, master of Art Nouveau architects in Belgium, one of his early designs in the style. Total work of art inside and out, with no expense spared. Usually the interior is closed to the public, but certain days during the year there are tours, coincident with those of other Art Nouveau buildings in Brussels. Located on grand Haussmanian tree-lined avenue, the façade is not to be missed on any tour of Art Nouveau or architecture in the Belgian capital.

😁 Fantastic place to admire Art Nouveau ☹ Photography is not allowed. Staff is attentive to this. 👉🏻 You need a ticket reservation. 👨‍🦼 Difficult access. 👻 The place is OK if you are sound or light sensitive. 🏳️‍🌈 OK

Nice art nouveau hotel designed by Victor Horta. Hopefully saved from destruction by greedy people. Some rooms couldn't be visited. But nice guide. Just could have spent a bit more time than the one hour visit.

House is v beautiful but like many places in Brussels staff weren't able to speak the required flemish ( eventho Belgium is officially bilingual). Also had to queue 10 mins for cloakroom and we were then left with 20 mins of the allotted 30 min visiting time. The visit was very rushed and expensive for €16 pp....

Google said it's opened, but it's not. On the website said that you can see the Hotel by appointment, but they did not responded to my email, sent 3 days ago. I am disappointed. I appreciate very much Victor Horta's creations and, as I was in Bruxelles for almost a week, I was eager to see all that can be seen. Hotel Solvay it's a UNESCO listed building, but cannot be visited. Too bad. Very big disappointment.

Amazing house, simply amazing! Only admission by advance ticketing. Time slot allowance is a bit short for all there is to see.

Absolute masterpiece and a must-visit place if you're in Brussels. A lot of visitors and taking photos is allowed only 10 minutes before the tour ends( it's 40 minutes overall ). Make sure to reserve a visit on the website.

Only saw the outside as it was closed to visitors but a standout Art Nouveau building by Victor Horta, father of the architectural genre.

An architectural gem ✨ I hope even more of the rooms will be restored in the future. Those that are, are marvelous. Since visitors are limited, you get really pretty views of the interior.

Beautiful house with amazing interiors designed by Horta. This house was asked by the Solvay family to Horta with no budget limit, and it shows. Structure and pleasure mix together in perfect shapes and natural feeling environments.
