This is a large and interesting outdoor museum. The buildings were all brought here from somewhere else in Belgium a rebuilt here. The history of buildings spans centuries. There’s even an area dedicated to the 50’s and 60’s.

Pure, astonishing, breathtaking beauty. The perfect place for a perfect hike and a chance to reconnect with Mother Nature. And besides, wolves love forests! - The Wolf of Beirut

A nice place to spend the day. The old houses are interesting and there is usually a guide who is happy to tell you more about them. The "sixties" are also worth visiting. The rooms make you feel so as travelling in time :)

An open air museum in Genk. Spacious and green. Absolutely worth a visit. A large parking makes it easy. There is also a brewery where one taste beer. It’s a large place and needs about 2-3 hours to see the entire place. It’s a kid friendly place and fit for a family outing.

Lovely place to visit with a huge park, farm, flowers, and open air museum recreating the life of old Belgium. They have many buildings that have been transported and preserved as Museum. They have activities for young and old using traditional methods including carpentry, leather, and traditional games which can be used by all. They have a very nice recreation of the sixties, with typical urban shops, houses, pubs, etc. It has good food options as well. Amazing place to explore and enjoy the day out

In Bokrijk, you can step back in time and experience what life was like in different periods. The museum has preserved historic buildings, including farmhouses, windmills, and craft workshops. These buildings provide a view into the daily lives of people from the past. Bokrijk offers beautiful gardens and natural surroundings. The park area allows visitors to enjoy walking, picnics, and outdoor activities. It offers a chance to connect with the past and gain a deeper understanding of Belgium's rich history.

Very relaxing park. Went on a sunny day and luckily there were a lot of shadows to avoid the sun. The items in the park were of diversity, from parks with flowers, to an exhibition of an old fashioned rich family house, to old sheds and buildings to show how life was in 19th century...everything is in dutch or English, easy to read. There are friendly park employees too who give information in most of the buildings. Overall a nice park, good for kids and a nice walk!

Great place, recommended by a friend to visit while in Belgium. We were lucky enough to find good weather to be able to explore it fully. It was like going back in time, to the 19th century and then the sixties. There were actors dressed up doing a performance in one section. Kids also enjoyed seeing the animals etc.

A very pleasant surprise! Loved every bit of it. Tons of friendly and soft sheep to say hi to, stories to follow around the park. A trip back in time where everything seems so peaceful and nature was ruling. Lots of activities for kids and adults.

Highly recommended! Very nice surroundings, lots of atelier for children, very big territory, old games córner attracts always our children! Enormous playground at the exit! A possibility to spend a day next to the farm animals! We went there 5 times already and children are always happy to repeat the experience!

What a perfect little time machine! Well, not that little... it's a big nature park with actors and all the little gems of it's history. Alot of activities for the Kids, like making your own pot in clay. Or dying your bag, making a little bag out of leather. All with the help of professional craftsmen and women. And don't forget the restaurant for some real belgian deliciousness. Just pure awesomeness.

One of a kind experience to do with your loved ones or alone. Choose a good day as most of the walking around is outdoors and wear sensible shoes. The food is great, the staff actually likes working there and are super duper friendly. The really only bit of feedback would be to work on their map, we are two designers and had a hard time reading it and getting a sense of what to do first. We missed out on the 60's experience because we were too late, but no worries we will be back!

Really interesting place to visit every couple of years but sadly alot is lacking due to covid restrictions like furniture in the houses and them not wearing the traditional clothing while I saw them, other than that a great experience.

Amazing place! There are cycling roads including pass through water, botanical garden (for free) and open air museum (requires reservations). Seems like 1 day is not enough to see all attractions. You can get there by train or by car. There are parking lot and bicycle rental service.

I was not prepared for just how large and varied the site is. From animals, to pottery making, to photography exhibitions, to beer making and and a lot more. Stayed far longer than we expected. Plenty of shade on a hot day. Place is immaculate. Staggeringly large play area next door too. Highly recommend it for a long but great day out for all ages.

Bokrijk winter night review: you're basically being asked to pay admission for a carnival. That said, the fireworks were better than expected and the fire parade short but sweet. There is a fire show going on twice a day; but it's not worth waiting for - I've had the impression even I could make something more impressive than the flailings of an amateur pole dancer, a fake violist and someone waving a fire umbrella.

Amazing place. Beautiful scenery, very informative displays and real animals. A smith shows off his skills for the visitors. The kids can do their own leather wallet or bracelet. We could take our dog inside too. It is a huge area so start out early in the morning. On the way there you have the option to walk through a sort of botanical garden. I have never seen something more beautiful.

A pretty nostalgic place for anyone who's interested in the older ways of crafting and the games played during the previous century. Lovely to walk around and bask in the presence of nature. Sadly due to Covid, not everything was open as it should've been, but that's to no fault of the people who work there.

Very tranquil open air museum with small hamlets of historically accurate reconstructions of old Flemish farmhouses and country living. Loads of activities for children, while remaining interesting and engaging for adults as well. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.

I, my wife and my parents had a great time here. Unfortunately some things were closed due to COVID-19 but overall it's a beautiful place to visit even when there are less activities such as role play. Luckily the restaurant was open so we were able to have a simple yet lovely lunch in the warm September sun.

(Translated by Google) In times of corona, opportunities for relaxation are very difficult to find. The Bokrujk provincial domain provides a fun - and free - alternative, with a neatly mapped out walking route between the houses. Of course, due to corona, no coffee house or museum piece is open to enter, only the bakery is accessible to one person at a time. You can bring your own picnic and most people do. You see many visitors drinking nice bubbles (not those corona groups) in the stands. All very cozy and fun. This is the best leisure activity for children at the moment. We celebrated a birthday party here with a select group of friends for our son and the time flew. The three hours were up before we knew it. Thank you Bokrijk for this great offer!
